Widely regarded as one of, if not the weakest episode of the entire series. But that's just teling you how amazing the rest of it is. There's still much to adore in it, the huge dump of lore and foreshadowing, but also to me personally a lot of focus on Misato, my favorite character, who is allowed to absolutely shine in this one.

I like this episode, some stellar background work as always, some interesting worldbuilding and character dynamics, some uplifting vibes with shinji and friends, goes to show you don't need giant robots fighting each other every episode for a good mecha anime.
