Ding! Dong! Ding!

“Nepo!” Bee yelled using her magic to open the door for their guests. She was eager to show off today because today was the day that she had her very first sleepover!

It took several months for her mother to convince Mr. Terrific and Blue Beetle’s family to let her friends stay over, but today was finally the day!

Thanks to her mother and Raven she has become far more comfortable using her magic than she did before. She wasn’t trying to rush anything either. Thanks to her new friends Mary Dahl and Milagro, she was actually enjoying her second round as a child much more now.

Even Damien had started loosening up to her, after the first month of retraining her. Bee realized this after Mary had her watch a few shows from anime, that Damien is what people would call a tsundere.

“Calm down,” Zatanna said picking her daughter up into her arm. Who could have ever guessed that the former Batman could be so energetic by just having two friends?

“Terry and Jamie, it’s so good to see you,” Zatanna said to the two heroes who were in their civilian clothes.  “Please come in.”

“Thanks for having us,” Jamie said making his way in with Milagro holding his hand. “Milagro’s been talking about this all week,” he said. Milagro just nodded her head in embarrassment.

“I can’t say that I fully support this magic phase that my daughters going through, but I am interested to see where it goes. Hopefully this “sleepover” will help provide me with new data to- Owww!!!

“Dad, you promised that you wouldn’t talk about research when we got here~!” Mary complained after kicking him in his shin. She ran inside and sat next to Milagro on the couch.

“Again, with your research?” Zatanna said to Terry, placing Bee on the ground so she could run over and see her friends.

“What? I may not understand magic, but that doesn’t mean that’s it wrong for me to try,” Terry said, not understanding what he did wrong. Most of the time he could take the hint, being the third smartest man on Earth, but when he got caught up on research, he lost track of everything else. He was the main reason it took so long to plan this sleep over for the girls.

“Terry, I know that you’re a good guy, but when it comes to parenting you have to listen to your children just as they listen to you. Mary needs you to understand while she wants to follow in your footsteps, she always wants to follow her own path as well. You have the entire weekend to think about it, so don’t waste this chance. Kids grow up fast, even to my dismay. I couldn’t find the spell to keep her as a child forever, but that doesn’t mean that I won’t do my best to cherish the memories that I am making with her right now.”

“Sure thing,” Terry said, not paying attention to Zatanna as he was checking out more magical related data that he had acquired from his daughter. “I’ll see you Sunday,” he said waving goodbye to Mary, who was in a bad mood because of him. Though one giant hug from her best friend Bee was more than enough to put he in a better mood.
