Alice saw Alexis sitting next to Atticus, so she tried to go over and sit next to her, but to her dismay, Mina lead her over towards her new mother.

“Alice it is so nice to finally meet you face to face,” said Ariana with a bright smile across her face.

Ever since Alexis told her about Alice she had been overjoyed to have a new daughter. Alexis was refined and elegant, but she was too mature for her own good. Now standing before her was a lovely cute little girl to have her way with.

“Hello Miss Rhodes, how’s it going?” Alice asked, nervous to speak to her for the first time face to face.

“Now, now, that is no way to address me,” Ariana said to Alice. There was a singular thought going across her mind right now and she hoped that Alice would pick up on it.

“I’m sorry, mother,” Alice said as she held her head down. She remembered that Ariana wanted to be addressed as mom or mother while they were in public.

“No,” Ariana said with a smile across her face. “I’m sure that there is another term that can be used. Please say it.”

“Mom?” Alice asked confused, but Ariana wasn’t going to let her off that easy. It would seem that her new daughter needed a little bit of a push.

“Why don’t you call me mommy,” she said without hesitation which made everyone, but Adrian stare at her in shock.

Adrian was quite used to his wife's interests. He knew that if she didn’t get what she wanted there would be trouble. When she got like this it was best for everyone if Alice did what Ariana wanted her to do, but there was no way that he could help his new daughter now.

“Mother!” Alexis shouted, grabbing everyone’s attention. “Please don’t force Alice to do anything that she’s uncomfortable with.”

“Oh my, what was I thinking?” Ariana said as she put her hands over her mouth. “Alice dear I am most sorry, please just address me as mother, for now.”

“Okay, mother,” Alice said as she sat down next to Ariana. “Though she was still quite nervous around her, especially after she heard that, “for now” comment. The moment that breakfast was over she knew that she would have to run.

“Oh and Alexis, it is not appropriate to yell at someone during a meal,” Ariana said, her demeanor turning cold. While it was true that she went a bit too far that did not mean that Alexis could break etiquette and get away with it.

“I am once again sorry for that Alice dear, and let me be the first to formally welcome you as a member of our family.”

“Indeed,” said Adrian. While he was happy that there was no bloodshed between his wife and daughter, it didn’t show too much on his face. Adrian had always been the type of person to keep his feelings in check, though the truth was that he was just as excited as his wife after learning about Alice.

He had first heard about Alice from Alexis when she was still the boy named Jaden. He had loved to hear the stories about the duels Jaden took part in. Little did anyone in his family know, he was once an underground duelist and a ruthless one at that. He was itching to get a chance to duel his new daughter, though he would have to make sure not to go overboard.
