Not sure you noticed but in present time, except for the long blue haired brother of Shirahoshi the other two have super quirky personalities and always dancing and singing away. This first started when their mother died, they weren't like that before. They're like that to protect Shirahoshi and keep their promise to their mother.

Yeah it's such a strong scene to see why they have those quirks and how painful it was for them. Even Fukaboshi (blue haired brother) you can clearly see the rage and hatred on him before his mom calmed him down. Imagine how much different things would be if she didn't calm the hatred in them at that moment. Especially knowing the culprit in the next episode.

Who else thought the Queen was going to be dragged out of the sea in that net? almost would’ve shocked me with how dark that would’ve been showing just how cruel the celestial dragons were but then you see the boat in the distance and she’s all good whewww

Arlong would never actually kill a Fish-Man. Local creeper just used the opportunity of everyone being distracted to touch Shirahoshi, designating her as his mark for the next decade. But Vander Decken is not even remotely smart enough to plan and execute a distraction/assassination plan. I suspect. If only Otohime had kept her cool and resigned herself to collecting the signatures that were lost once more...😔 Edit: Being a parent in a One Piece backstory is a deadly job...

Just a reminder that Arlong was well on his way to Nami's island and was nowhere near Fishman Island. So while not present to do THIS fucked up thing, he's on his way to do THAT fucked up thing.

I think you misinterpreted Otohime's words a bit, she wasn't as understanding to say 'Nah don't do anything to the shooter' she meant 'Don't become resentful and reset all the progress we've already made'. She knew there was a good possibility the shooter was human, and she didn't want the future of every fishman to be thrown away for the actions of one asshole, again the message of the arc repeating itself in her last moments.
