A convenient way to use AI to paint Anime style. (Patreon)

Recently I was trying different ways to do something with AI drawing. I found a method that seemed to be good, so I would like to introduce it to you.

This time I want to explain how to create an anime style texture using AI drawing. Instead of creating the texture from scratch, I used the method of converting it to an anime style.

I used QuQu original avatar Peke as the character model.

When creating an anime-style 3D character, outlining and shading are important, but the color scheme is very important. Surprisingly, it is difficult to determine the balance of the color scheme. The purpose of this project is to create an image of the color scheme using AI.

Try drawing with AI.

There has been an explosion of AI drawing tools in the last year. In this case, I used Stable Diffusion to create this project. We will not explain how to use or implement AI tools here. This is just an explanation of how to use the AI tool to determine the color scheme.

I asked AI to create a drawing using img2img based on the image of the Peke model I just showed you.

This allows AI to create many images quickly. However, the combination of training models, prompts, and parameters can change the image significantly.

This one uses the common prompt "Anime". Different training models look different, so you should look for the pattern you are looking for first.

Create a color scheme table.

Once you have created an image that fits your image, use the eyedropper tool or other tools to grab colors from it and determine the color scheme.

he color scheme may be a bit broken in some areas, but the purpose is to determine the color scheme, so as long as the color balance is correct, it is not a problem.

Based on the color scheme selected here, we will redraw the textures of the 3D model.

I only used color schemes this time, but I think it could be used from the 3D modeling stage. Even at this stage, I feel that AI technology is effective as a tool to assist with ideas, and I would like to experiment with it more.
