Pulp

peak hxh episode

Chris Sharpe

Uvo’s Requiem is a contender for the most iconic scene in the show (possibly barring the Hisoka Schwing)

RoZiiii

What a tribute for Uvo, still gives me chills everytime

agoodwintv

It's a great concept perfectly executed. Especially trying in with and coming after the softness of the date scene

macrowave

Yeeeeeeeah been waiting years for this one lol

Sam B

Out of the 148 eps, I'll conservatively say there are 50 peaks hahaha

You've possibly heard the famous first piece of the Requiem montage before. It is Mozart's, Lacrimosa. It was actually finished by his student because Mozart died before finishing it. While it was a commission by some patron, rumors spread that he wrote this Requiem for his own death.

Yeah, this is easily my favorite episode yet. Everything from the Chrollo/Neon conversation onwards is amazing. That conversation is really our first proper introduction to Chrollo as a character, and it does not disappoint. Seeing him shed a tear when the fortune confirmed Uvo’s death is surprisingly impactful, despite knowing the kind of people they are. Uvo’s Requiem is also just perfectly done. The music adds so much to the scene as well. The music that plays before Chrollo begins conducting being Lacrimosa from Mozart’s Requiem fits perfectly. Then to continue the requiem into the credits on top of everything else was the perfect way to end the episode.

Oak

The whole story surrounding Lacrimosa is fascinating. The patron had commissioned it for his late wife, but out of all the pieces of music to die while composing, it just had to be a requiem. Most of Lacrimosa was done by his student too. If I remember correctly, only the beginning was fully composed by Mozart.

Absolutely bonkers episode/reaction

Reid Dawson

One of the most famous HxH episodes.

Jabin (Aelic)

One thing I love about this soundtrack is all of the great classical references. Mozart, Holst, Prokofiev, Vivaldi, etc.

Mima

a little more on the duality you were talking about, it's definitely one of the biggest reasons I love Chrollo as a character. His personality is shown so sentimental and gentle in this scene with Neon, mourning Uvo's death, and his voice is so calm and gentle all the time it's easy to forget who he is. Such a beautiful episode. Gets more amazing with each rewatch

Szandor Kane

You might have heard of it by now, but the Himeno requiem scene in Chainsaw Man (entirely played on Katana Man's jewels) is a direct homage to this, one of several throughout manga/anime history.

Emman Reed

you are absolutely right. IT IS SO COOL. Awesome watch after a cold day :)

Wolfy Fiorini

Love this episode so much. I feel like we rarely get shows where the "super powerful badguys" genuinely just go full slaughter mode. It feels great to realize that these guys have been holding back the whole time and yet are still known as the scariest criminals around lol.

Crystalrose

oh you want chrollo so bad😳
