I absolutely love this episode. It's one of my favorites

ODIS

Happy new year Alex! Off topic, but I was wondering, would you ever consider adding live action stuff to your reaction channel? Or movies maybe (animated or not)?

Chris Sharpe

Random question I just thought about while watching the video, what fictional characters do you see the most of yourself in? Could be anime, could not be, could be one from the channel, maybe multiple. Edit: Anyone else, feel free to answer if you want

I've always found Mito's use of Zetsu in this episode particularly impressive

Happy new year! Live action stuff I'm always down for but movies are a lot harder.

Vincent

I love that Togashi brought Gon back to Whale Island, it feels like the perfect setting to transition from one arc to another. I somewhat teared up during Gon's conversation with Killua - Gon's headstrong nature is a mixed bag, but you can see how it's so easy for people to get caught up in his positive tragectory and benefit from it.

Despite there still being many amazing episodes down the line, this is still one of my favorites. This show has a lot of great characters, and a byproduct of that is people love debating favorites, but to cheat a little, I'd say Gon and Killua's relationship is my favorite character. This episode really shows how well thought out it is. The only 2 character relationship to rival it for me has been Thorfinn and Einar, and though I've not read the manga, I have full faith their relationship will continue to be a highlight of future seasons. A similarity between HxH and Vinland I've noticed is that both are extremely character driven. The entire plot of season 2 of Vinland can be boiled down to Thorfinn's personal growth. And just last episode of HxH we see the best example yet, how Gon literally just leaves when he feels satisfied. Despite there being set up for it, there was no real plot reason for him to remain, and so he didn't. Writing characters like that makes them feel much more realistic and easy to connect to, and is one of the many, many things I adore about this show. Also, I had a question about the JJK spot. Do you have plans for it atm? I recall in a comment a little while ago you mentioned potentially increasing HxH episodes. There are also a few more shows you could catch up on. Spy x Family season 2 just finished and Invincible season 2 is at its halfway point with more episodes on the way soon.

As a kid I would definitely have been able to relate to Okabe, probably one of the reasons I like Steins;Gate so much.

Ray

This episode is where Gon and Killua solidify their friendship, imo. I love it.

Manny

A really nice episode. It’s a chance to breathe and have them collect their thoughts. I love episodes that have a relax tone have special moments and give valuable content at once.

Chris Sharpe

@Oak That’s awesome, yeah there’s something about Okabe that is so human and powerful, still one of my favs. I would say Rei Kiriyama might be the single strongest for me, but also some others like Armin, Itadori, and Leorio. I can only wish to be as cool as them 😅 but I think that sums it up.

macrowave

Agree on Spy Family and Invincible. HxH isn’t hurt by not binging until halfway through one specific arc, so there’s plenty of time to stick to the two episodes a week and watch some other ongoing series instead of increasing HxH right now

ODIS

Well then you gotta add some on the voting polls! :)

Hope we get more hxh after jjk 😮‍💨😮‍💨

Spot on about killua - doesn’t necessarily show at the start but he’s really incredibly good-natured when he easily could not have been

agoodwintv

I've been trying to decide myself. This week I'm planning on doing 3 HxH (gonna double upload in a bit), and since I have a little bit more time this month I might also do another show if I can for a few weeks. But Invincible it almost seems like it would be better to wait for the remainder of the episodes

agoodwintv

Yeah sometimes it's these "low-key" episodes of shows that I end up liking the best if they're well spent

Szandor Kane

Maybe Nanami. "Work is shit, people are shit, but if both are, I'll take the one that's slightly less shit." haha. I also tend to try and inject logic into everything and be indifferent about stuff while I actually do care immensely. Other times I relate more to Franky - taking pride in my projects, even when it's the goofiest trash ever and not taking anything serious until taking something WAY too serious.

Szandor Kane

Killua at least also absolutely knew she was there and didn't say anything <3

Chris Sharpe

@Szandor That’s honestly awesome. And it’s great to hear some Franky praise. GOAT

agoodwintv

Ah yeah there's some Nanami in there. The finance and argumentative elements 😅
