Don't go chasing down villains down dark alley's by yourself...oohhhhhh....just you wait.

Francesca White

oh no you missed the after credits scene!

Kollie123

Somehow I knew you were going to miss this after credits scene lol, I think it took me a few years to even realize it existed. Idk why shows even do after credits scenes like this anyway, they get missed so often

Aura Y

Yeah, especially in shows where the after credit scene is actually important. It'd be cool if shows let us know somehow, but at least this one wasn't super significant

Every episode you watch just gets me more and more excited! I love this show so much and it's your commentary is the dialogue I wish I could have had with friends, but not everyone's into dissecting stories to presented values and how they fair against reality at large. I know a lot of people were turned off by this show because they thought it was a superficially childish show but there's so much to it!

Aura Y

Congratulations, you've properly guessed the winner of the tournament!!! You get a virtual All-Might hug!!! I feel like this tournament arc did a lot for these characters. -Deku made a statement of the type of hero he can be, and proved he has the character to achieve that goal -Bakugo came through with his promise, but was ultimately left with a hollow victory and his pride diminished -Todoroki who I think won the most from this tournament. He's starting to break free from the trauma of his past, and he starting to take the steps forward to improve himself and hopefully his family.

Nathan

All the characters get good screen time. Well except Invisible Girl. We NEVER see her.

Emma Root

It kind of makes me sad how the faculty or whoever dealt with Bakugou's meltdown, it seems excessive to tie him up like that, maybe it would have been better to not have him on stage at the end at all?

Aura Y

If you look carefully, she's actually in every shot :) (sorry bad joke)

Nick

I mean to be fair the dude has an explosive quirk and has shown a lack of self restraint in the past. While it is overboard, I can see the perspective on it he has already often talked about killing his enemies lol

NitrousOxide19

no bakugo doesnt care about love! victory at all costs. nothing else matters to him

Ice

Spoilers . . . . . . . . . . . Can't wait for Alex to see that episode, when Bakugo finally receive All Might's hug!

J Valentine

I'd like to think that the reason Tenya always emotes with his arms is that he idolizes his brother, who has the same quirk as Iida but in his elbows. Also Tensei, his borther, has 64 Sidekicks at his agency, as stated by Deku in an earlier episode and he still went down the alley alone. He probably didn't want to risk them, but that's sometimes what happens when you live in a world were someone's quirk could literally do anything. You never know who or what you're going up against.

Sean Silence

I liked what you said about "nothing can go wrong, this is My Hero Academia" because this show definitely likes to lure you into a false sense of security sometimes.

agoodwintv

All-Might hug, the ultimate reward. Yeah the best thing about the tournament for me was the character development, especially those three, and also lots of new names and faces and people to keep an eye on :)

Nick

For real, the gun brutality at the end of season 1 shocked me so much lol. It felt extra brutal

Did you notice Todoroki doing Katara's move? Riding ice like a water bender. Alex: don't chase villains into a dark alley Us: Hum... Yeah... Sure... It won't happen again... Iirc this episode had an end credits scene did you watch it?

The real winners of this arc are the tournament organizers and venue security, hosting the first uninterrupted anime tournament of all time.

agoodwintv

I missed it and just got the chance to go back and watch it, but because it's a long one I will include it in season 2 episode 13 I think

Love the reaction and analysis as usual but I was wondering if he is going to be reacting to the first MHA movie after this season. I don't know if this has been asked or answered and while I wouldn't consider this movie be integral to the whole story, I enjoyed it and I think it takes place between the second and third season so it makes sense to watch.

I dont know if its just a localization of the source material (I watch the subbed version), but I never felt that Bakugo wanted to be a hero for others or even cared what others thought of him. Sure he wants to be the #1 hero, but I think a lot of his feelings in this arc are about him not meeting his own expectations of his strength. He was upset with Todoroki for not "declaring war" to him, but I always thought that was because he wants to push himself further. That's why he had those outbursts in front of everyone at the end. He doesn't care about what others think of him. He just needed to prove to himself that he was the strongest. I've always seen Bakugo as an extremely self-driven, but also much too inwardly focused.

Kollie123

I mean that’s all still there in the dub, I think Goodwin has a more optimistic outlook on some of Bakugos action, but nothing by in the dub is substantially different from the sub in terms of characterization. He’s a little meaner with his words in the dub at times, but that’s about it . I think he just homed in a little too much on thinks bakugo cares about what his classmates think, I noticed it back when Deku made the comment on the bus in season 1 that their roles have reversed a bit lol.

Emma Root

I'm not sure if he's mentioned it! I think the movies would be fun bonus videos! Same with the OVA's, both don't affect the plot or character development really but super fun for character interactions and action sequences. Although the second movie is kind of weird because I think it technically happens during season 5 I'm guessing?

Kamolak

Still though, Mineta got robbed in this arc.

Brimmy

#DadMight makes his appearance :3 idk a hug from All Might sounds like it would be very nice ^_^ rewatch this ep subbed i think u'll be able to know what all might said at the end of the tournament XD also u missed the end credit scene for this episode o.o

AzureWolfe

I really like that the Climatic fight this arc WASN'T the final fight of the tournament like it is in most shows. On top of subverting expectations it let them use the rest of the tournament to lead into the next arc.

Andre Tan

I would say that when bakugo wanted to todoroki to use his full strength, it wasn’t really for people to love/like him. It was more of that he wanted a meaningful victory which would be through his opponent giving their all.

Albert Rhodes

Man, the Bakugo episode falls so flat after Deku v Todoroki. It's for good reason though. I noticed some more watching this time. I love how Todoroki declares Deku his rival earlier in the arc... then when they fight, Deku just stands firm on "I will not let you beat me unless you embrace who you are and give it everything. I'll break all my bones before I let that happen." What I noticed this time that I hadn't considered before is the fact that it's literally the last match. I feel like this adds an extra level of conflict to Todoroki. There's a big difference in having that sort of elevated moment Deku gives him earlier and using it to actually win the tournament. Like, he may be receptive to the idea of claiming it as his own power and using it... but I'm not sure he wanted to let himself use it to actually be crowned the best.

Albert Rhodes

Ya know, especially with his dad yelling up in the stands after he'd told him off and stuff.

There’s an after credits scene in the next episode too. Try to watch out for them, cause some of those scenes are REALLY important, and My Hero has a ton of them. It’s from the same studio of FMA Brotherhood, so you know the drill haha
