The show was good to me beforehand but this season finale arc got my attention completely also now I have 3 of your MHA videos to watch lol

J Valentine

You know it's such a jaded world and I'll be the first one to admit that shows that have a dark tone like The Boys or Game of Thrones can be really good. But it's so nice to see something so simple and true. To just see some genuine good people coming together. Love this show, very much hits on some much needed themes these days. Oh also Tsu is best girl, FrogLife forever and always. Also, also. If you haven't either for the channel or on your own time I've just now realized listening to your ending talk that you would probably really enjoy the Batman Animated series from the 90s. There are some really deep down comments to be made about that depiction of Batman and his genuine love of mankind.

Feeling good and optimistic after every episode: The perfect juxtaposition to Attack on Titan

Aura Y

I think "moving" and "wholesome" are great ways to describe this show. These are characters that embody the ideals of being a hero, and I think the show really paints a positive picture for what people can aspire to be. While it may be a bit "simple" in its approach at times, I think there's a lot of positives in the show. I'm glad that many others were able to enjoy it as well! Can't wait for S2, it's going to be a fun one!

JDalsing

I wish there was more to analyze after eache episode, but other than All-Might is awesome, and Todoroki is the GOAT as well as my boy Bakugou, we have a ways to go...I'm caught up and...

ComicalSkate

You know, I never really liked Tsu that much during my first watch and didn't really understand all the hype and best girl standing. For me I liked Mina Ashido a lot more in terms of side character girls, and Ochaco Uraraka as the best. But from this rewatch I've really grown to appreciate Tsu more. She tells it how it is and has some great badass moments. I think before it was a matter of character design. Not really into the frog look and voice still, but the other parts certainly make up for that!

Fabiola Macias

I wasn’t so sure you’d enjoy MHA when you first started, but I’m really glad you have! I’m excited to see your thoughts and feelings on season 2

Etsch

I just noticed the potato lol when did that first appear

Neubaufahrzeug

You got bakugo hitting people with explosions, Todoroki freezing people which as he said could cause frostbite and Deku prepared to hit a villain with a punch that would have killed him but flitch because my man brought a gun to a fistfight.

BubbleTea

Everytime i see the gun guy... "It's hiiiiiiigh noooooon!" Also I agree, MHA is such a feel good show. Lots of emotional, inspiring and touching moments. I think a lot of people become so jaded and cynical while going through life, we forget to appreciate the good things. It's much easier to doubt people and them down, than to believe in people and bring each other up.

veryohno

looking back, the whole shooting shigaraki 5 times thing is pretty terrible

Francesca White

i'm so excited for next season it's even better than this one in my opinion

agoodwintv

Haha something about the gun is just so much more visceral than the other powers

benj

Watching your reactions has made my first time watching this show 10 times better...I think, technically we'll never know. I just understand and like all the characters way more, and I've figured out the good comedy sprinkled throughout the episodes from your sense of humor.

agoodwintv

Definitely. I think it's really tough to actually embody the traits of the characters even if it's easy to understand them when we see them. Something is lost in translation at times, because we see the characters go through challenges and stick to who they are, but we don't actually experience those challenges so we don't feel the full weight of how amazing that is. But sometimes the more you actually TRY to do those things or be that way, the more it means when you see it on screen I think.

agoodwintv

I'm glad! I think the humor is really the cherry on top with this show. It adds so much and saves it from potentially taking itself too seriously.

KJ Gaona

You're right on the money when you say this show is special because of its heart. The emotional core of the show is very strong, which is what drew me in despite the seemingly juvenile tone. Hearing your thoughts on each episode has slowly convinced me that I was short-changing it though. It's a bit corny but it hits the spot for a reason. I'm a lot more enthusiastic about this series and your reactions to it than I was at the start!

Feels so spot on with the bonding experience idea of it which I didn't think about, reminds me of how great a few field trips I've had in high school and elementary school were, they would always bond the whole class together.

I'm elated that you've picked up on what the show is trying to accomplish and appreciating how well it does so. I'm glad that this show exists, it has led to major growths in my own personal development.

Noah Hoorn

This show helps my mental health I swear lol. Whenever I need some motivation/inspiration I can throw on an episode. Makes me want to work even harder for my dreams and goals. Not many shows do that for me, and some have the opposite affect. I watched some episodes of Shameless because of a recommendation and it was good but made me depressed, too similar to my childhood lol.

Noah Hoorn

Thanks for the entertainment Alex! I just finished the first season of your ATLA rewatch, I have seen the show so many times that I can just listen to it and know everything happening on screen so I'll just have your rewatches playing in blutooth headphones while doing housework, exercising, and on my breaks at work. Appreciate what ya do!

BotheredAsh

I love your reactions so much. Each one makes me appreciate the show in a whole new way, even though I'm probably on my 4th re-watch of MHA now. So thank you for giving us all such thought provoking commentary. Also, rest assured that all of the opening themes for MHA are pretty awesome. There isn't a single one I skip.

I'm absolutely certain that the mangaka or a writer of the show is familiar with Jungian psychology. Those that follow it have a particular lens that allows them to recognize deep values. I would have loved to experience this show at an earlier stage of my development because it does a fantastic job of portraying a sort of life compass and how it is explored by the many perspectives within the story.

agoodwintv

For sure, the right experiences have a way of speeding relationships way up

agoodwintv

I used to watch Shameless! Never finished it though. Even in just 1 season, I feel like this show has helped me as well. One very basic thing is it's inspired me to exercise harder / more frequently :D

MikeWest

I'm gonna need a tier list or top ten list for the students that you can update. I'm having a hard time keeping track. Su's up there I know, Class rep guy for sure... Belly button guy now has 10 points

Jay Crigler

That's gun guy ( Snipes) quirk is he has a fuckin gun lol

Shark-ira

We're only done with season 1 but it's been a fun ride and will only get better from here. The gun shots caught me off guard too but I thought it was as little funny how the "Mist guy" and the "Master" were just talking to eachother while Hands McGee layed on the floor, bleeding out and being ignored.

Nick

I think it's symbolic in a way that Deku is the one who keeps sustaining the only severe injuries after each fight. It feels like a parallel to All Might, and how he keeps overexerting himself because he has to to protect others. Plus, they're in hospital beds right next to each other in this episode. I like to think it's another parallel between them Edit: Also, one of those voices in the villain hideout talking to Hands Mcgee over the tv is definitely Hohenheim's voice actor

Since I haven’t seen it i want to point out. Each season is a year apart in terms of release since it airs on tv each season kicks off with a filler recap episode. They typically just go though quirks again and reintroduce the cast. It works really well for getting back into after a break when your waiting a year between season but you probably don’t need to watch the first episode next season EDIT this is not part of season 2. It starts at season 3

Sean Silence

Please don't ever learn Mineta's name. I love that it changes every time you say it xD

malikparah

i don't remember much about what happens in s2 but i apparently rated it a 9 on MAL so looking forward to rediscovering what i loved so much about it

Nathan

Judging by the way MHA takes a FAIRLY realistic view of heroes and regulations, Gun Guy's quirk probably had to be heavily regulated and was difficult to certify. And he did only shoot Hand's Guy as he was about to literally kill Midoriya so...

Cole Hoffman

Hey! Finally supporting you on Patreon, lol. Love seeing your full reactions to everything! Season 1 was very good, but imo, season 2 is even better! The first arc is an extremely fun one to watch, so I know you'll like it! I'm so impatient though, and I want to you to get to season 4, lol. That's my personal favorite. Season 5 so far is also really interesting. I've also watched Attack on Titan with you. First time watching that, and I caught up to where you are. Absolutely love that show as well, lol. anyways, I look forward to seeing your reactions and listening to your thoughts on different topics and such. Hope you enjoy this show so far (even though I know you do, lol). Can't wait for season 2!!!

Finally caught up to you. This show is awesome!

agoodwintv

Hahaha I read this late. You'll see in the video but I started off by watching season 2 "episode 0" and being really confused
