Kinda sad you won’t expierence that end credit scene not as a surprise. Because let me tell you when it got freaky it was a HUGE surprise. It’s was awesome.

This episode really felt like the calm before the storm. Gave our characters a breather and some time to reflect on what they were like before and their goals going ahead especially our main trio getting a chance to check in with each other. more foreshadowing in this episode than i remembered. Also think you've been warned about the next OP being spoilery wouldn't recommend watching it until episode 19

from what i remember MIkasa has a lot more humanizing moments in the manga than in the anime. we've been seeing more of her personality this season, like her suggesting HIstoria punch Levi then smiling proudly when she does, but i'm pretty sure there's a lot more small moments like that with her doing stuff besides just saying "Eren" in the manga. i haven't read it in sooo long though so someone can correct me if i'm wrong lol

I remember when this aired and I had to wait for season 3 part 2. It's one thing to not know whats happening and being intrigued, bit it's another entirely to know whats gonna happen and be stuck waiting for it to be animated. It's the same with season 4. I re-read the manga like 4 times over while wait for each episode and getting supper hype. Of course this can fuck up my expectations and make impossible to live up to but I've really loved aot.

You know I do really appreciate this episode for having some genuine hope and positivity. The fact that AOT doesn't have too much of that front and center makes episodes like this more important and memorable imo

I watched part one of season 3 in one sitting so by the time I reached this episode it was like 3 am and I wasn't really paying attention to the ending and just let it run in case there was an end credit scene and then that glitch thing happened and I nearly had a heart attack and then I was terrified for like an hour after. I had goosebumps watching it the first time and honestly it still scares me.

The ending of this episode was so great for me. Because... what an amazing moment to be cheered on like that and to have Erwin finally getting some recognition and leading them into battle like that. But I also am sure this is not going to go well.

Since you were talking about how Erwin and All Might cause a similar feeling of safety in others I just wanted to quickly mention that they both voice characters in Jojo's Bizarre Adventures that actually journey together and it's fun to hear them interacting(All Might's voice actor actually says a line that I'm pretty sure references his character in Jojo) specially since the voice actor of the beast titan plays a pretty huge role in the series too. Eren also voices characters in both Jojo and MHA(Todoroki) (I know you're watching MHA in english but still, thought it was an interesting piece of trivia)

One thing I found interesting this episode was Levi probing Erwin's motivations. Finding out Erwin cares more about his own goal than his own safety, and in turn, his importance for humanity inside the walls. Erwin didn't really care about that as long as he gets to be there when the truth in the basement is revealed. The determination is admirable..... but maybe Levi should've broke Erwin's legs LOL

Levi listening to Armin and Eren's talking about the sea just after listening to Erwin talk about the outside world. Followed by Erwin's enthusiasm to retake Wall Maria. Oh the feels. The hype. Anyway don't think about the teaser, just don't think about it! It didn't happen. There's a Mikasa-centric OVA if you're interested. And how bout that Jean/Eren fight eh?? They actually referenced a Jean-centric OVA in this episode. It was a silly one.

This show is the king of getting caught by cliffhangers even when you're prepared for it. I caught up with the show around the start of s3 part 2 and having to wait, even only a week, was a punch in the face sometimes. This season will kick into overdrive, so it'll be fun to watch along side with you :)

Hey Goodwin, if you were brave enough to watch the outro scene, you simply can't skip the next opening now. Let yourself get properly hyped for what's to come! (also watching that opening will feel sort of meh if you do it when the season ends cus it's... a hype opening!) but you seem to be unstoppable when you decide upon something so we'll see how it goes :)

That intro hypes the upcoming bulk of events the best way possible, if you don't dwell or pause much, it's not spoilery. He's good watching it. The outro he's seen is much more dangerous in that regard :)

Just a little trivia, if you haven’t noticed: the sun rises in the west and sets in the east in this universe. You can see this in the Reiner/Bertholt scene at the end of the episode judging by wall position. You can also see that it’s been consistent throughout the series if you rewatch all the sun scenes.

The Part 2 OP is fine to watch after the first 2 episodes of S3P2. After that all you have is vague hints you'd have to analyze heavily to get to anything. So if you don't mind that, I'd recommend going with that

It'd make no sense to watch it after ep 19, because the opening is supposed to hype you up for what's to come. At that point... it'd be a good thing to just appreciate the visuals and forget about the op altogether. I've read too many reaction threads, have seen different reactors react to episodes and no one ever pointed out that op spoilt something to them. Including myself, I just got hyped, so. You can only consider it a spoilerful intro when you've gone past these eps
