Yea riot police have started using sound cannons in some parts of the world. They are brutal and rupture internal organs if you are exposed for too long

Francesca White

i remember when Momo's quirk Creation was introduced i thought it was SO COOL, it's definitely the quirk i'd want in this universe, though i'd have to study a lot since you need to know the molecular structure of everything you make. it definitely explains how smart she is lol

Stephen

Momo's outfit is so exposed so she has the most surface area to make things with

malikparah

forgot this episode gave us our first crumbs of actual Todoroki characterisation

Aidan Pullen

There is something genuinely chilling about seeing All Might with a deep frown like that. You know when that dude's frowning, he's PISSED. Can't wait till you see the next one :D

Anonymous

I like the PiP video sizing better on this one than on AOT 3x11. It doesn't cover up the potato in this one.

DrowsyCody

It’s gonna be a dark day when there’s no All Might to say “I am here!”

Aura Y

Aizawa is definitely one of my favorite characters in this show, and this episode we get to see why he can be considered a hero and a teacher. Like you commented, he does really care about his students, and clearly he's willing to sacrifice a lot to protect them.

Noah Hoorn

Great reaction and analysis Alex, love the content! *Obligatory comment about managing expectations* but in my opinion this show really never stops getting better and I loved season one. You're in for some amazing moments, I'm especially excited for you to meet a certain character who is very nuanced and has a lot for you to analyze :)

Ice

Just in case you missed it, the main villain (Tomura Shigaraki), his quirk is decay and he can disintegrate anything he touched. A few episodes ago we saw him behind the press, later we see how the school's gate was destroyed, yeah it was his doing.

Jacob Keyser

Tsu is the MVP a lot. Tsu is awesome

Rudy Strother

This show did a wonderful job crafting All Might as “The Symbol of Peace”. Like you said, it really feels like everything will be ok when he shows up. It’s such a simple idea but it’s crafted very well

agoodwintv

Haha yeah dubs = a little more screen real estate. Potato related question for you: Add eyes or no?

mr_wordcraft

I love that All-Might entrance because even though he is the "Smiling Hero" you can tell that there is nothing but pure determination and rage behind that "smile", and I wouldn't be surprised if some of that rage was directed at himself for putting the students in danger by not being there.

agoodwintv

Thanks! I'm loving the show as is probably apparent. I think season 1 does a great job making things compelling while also taking on the task of introducing A LOT of information. I imagine once we're settled in to the world and story a bit, there's a lot of room for great stuff.

Itachi The Rouge

I can’t get over you calling them “Bird Brain and Hands McGee” lmao I hope those names stick. I just realized Hands McGee thought “are you ONE of All Might’s disciples” when he saw Deku’s power. It made me wonder if All Might has had previous disciples he’s given one for all to that have either died, or maybe there are more than one (other than Deku) currently alive. I figured once the villains know the next user of one for all it puts a big target on their back. I’ve only seen season 1 but I didn’t catch that line when I watched it before.

Suki

I just thought... if Aizawa's hair is a tell why doesn't he just shave his head or wear some sort of head cap?

agoodwintv

Because... uhhhh... Yeah. I guess one of his quirks is a killer aesthetic. If you only have 1 quirk you're not fit to be a hero.

agoodwintv

Yeah he has to be really frustrated by his entire state. The will is there but this is just not sustainable

agoodwintv

I was wondering about that line too. I'm leaning towards it being less about his secret disciple-ship and maybe more about it being just a fact that he's a student of All Might's at school.

Jake White

Real glad we finally got this episode and you’re actually picking up on some of the better written aspects to Shiguraki already (main “hands” villain). I always feel like enjoyable/well written villains are fairly hard to come by, but Shiguraki is definitely one of my favorites of all time. This story treats the villain a lot differently than most stories do; not only just giving you brief interactions between the protagonist and antagonist when they’re directly in battle or few other moments. Nah, this story has you basically follow the protagonist and antagonist and watch as both of them grow and develop over the series. It’s a lot of fun.

J Valentine

A bit of foreknowledge, this season is 13 episodes and the other seasons are broken up into Part 1 and Part 2s, each being informed by the last arc but starting something somewhat new. Which means new intros and outtros every dozen or so episodes.

A Suresh

I AM HERE AS A COMMENT! Ah man everytime I see this episode, seeing All Might arrive is a big breath of relief. It's remarkable that this show is able to accomplish that and instill that palpable feeling of safety when he arrives on the scene. See you for the next one! :)

Dempsy

Once again we have been provided with an AMAZING auto-generated thumbnail

Christo Badenhorst

The worst thing about this reaction is to have to wait a few says. Next episode is my 3rd fave fight episode.....expect a battle, weird fact each season episode 11 and 12 is amazing. Not sure if that means something or done on purpose 🤔

Anonymous

He's my favorite character and I cannot wait for Alex to see more of him lol

Anna Lena Ciplajevs

I love how mha makes us believe that allmight is the symbol of peace. You really feel it, and it really, especially starts here in this episode. Everytime they’re in trouble and he shows up with his goofy music, you can’t help to feel hyped.

Anonymous

Ok i kinda wanna go into theorizing territory now. Like you said being THE symbol of peace is very hard on Almight, his body is not longer able to handle all the power as he got hurt badly. But he still thinks it is his responsibility to look out for everyone. And like you said it would be good if everyone could be a little more like Almight. I think in his situation I would strongly consider not giving my power to one person but multiple people. He has a lot of hair/DNA :~ and doesnt have to give everything to Deku. Yes it would water down the power a bit, but I think overall it would be beneficial cause it is still so op. So now to the theory: I think this will either be the conclusion for Almight OR he already came to this conclusion - tried it and failed. Maybe he gave his powers to the wrong kind of person, somebody later turning villainous.... that would explain why the spooky hand guy knows about almights decipleS ... so I guess I wanted to put that out there ^^ Btw. Maybe you already answered this but did you ever do cosplay or considered it? Cause you would totally rock an Aizawa Cosplay

jdthebud

That black hole portal had me shook the first time I saw that, really showed how dangerous these villains were.

BubbleTea

I cried when you said Deku, Tsu, and Melinda.

Fredo_Credo

is hands mcgee's voice actor the same as kimblees? they sound quite similar

minimonie__

not me thinking hands mcgee was his actual name bcuz alex kept saying it ..

Noah Hoorn

I think this show in season one makes you like the cast like you're friends with them or know them really well on a personal level and then they throw them into situations and let their character traits guide their actions and interact with each other in a way that makes sense. The situations are really exciting and the characters learn from each moment and take that knowledge into future events. Now they have that new motivation and influence and skill in the future situations. I like that in a show with academia in it's name the main focus is growth and experience, whether it be in understanding or physically or mentally or emotionally. You really get connected to and invested in these characters and the writer uses that connection to pull on your heartstrings with a mostly positive and motivational tone, until it has Nomu bash in Aizawa's face and break his limbs. When it switches to serious mode you know shit is about to go down. I've been saying since the beginning that this is a great show for Alex to react to and when people were being pretty negative in episode one I was defending it and saying just wait. This show along with ATLA and AoT are my favorites to watch reactions to because there are such great moments and the more I watch it the more each interaction becomes emotional because you have the full picture on who everyone is and why they do what they do. They look up to their mentors and teachers and strive to be the best, for their different reasons, until along the way they end up being the people others look up to and those who are doing the motivating. Like Deku inspiring All might and even Deku inspiring Mineta. I had one really positive influence on my life that pulled me out of a not great situation in my earlier childhood and I modeled my behavior after them and they're my favorite person to this day. Which means I really like myself too because I have picked up a lot of their traits since they helped me out of that situation. I think that is why I like this show so much, there are such great and capable people to look up to which I didn't have as a kid until I did and I know how much that can help children out. Sorry for rambling, I figured this would be the community where over analyzing and going off on tangents would not be discouraged lol. I love the pausing and analyzing aspect of your reactions though Alex, it shows us you're paying attention and picking up on even the subtle things, which makes me even more excited for the amazing moments and payoffs to come <3

agoodwintv

(oh no at the "lots of DNA" 😂) At this very early stage of watching, my feeling is that there needs to be more horizontal heroism, as opposed to the more vertical One for All. A symbol of peace is great and inspiring, but then the next step is to not just rely on All Might for everything but to aspire to be more like him. Deku's got it, but he can't be the only one either. I have never done cosplay outside of Halloween, but I've always wanted to do that and go to a convention at least once in my life. I have Aizawa's sleepy eyes so I have a head start there.

agoodwintv

Thank you :D I'm glad to hear you've had that experience. I can also think of many people who have played that role for me. Those experiences have always inspired me to be better or stronger myself, and that pursuit has become a big part of my personal philosophy and motivations. I think that's why I gravitate so strongly to characters like All Might, Erwin, or Iroh: People who are so strong that they create a strong space for others to explore that strength. And so far it seems that this show is very specifically focused on that very thing.

Noah Hoorn

"Very specifically focused" indeed. I look forward to your AoT and MHA reactions every day, I'm just now starting on your ATLA rewatch this weekend and it's my favorite show of all time so I'm loving your thoughts the second time through for sure. I watched it air live as a kid and the finale was an event like the super bowl for me and my siblings. Now I've seen every episode (probably including the great divide even) 50+ times and some episodes way more than that. I might throw together a ranking at some point, this show deserves all the attention it has gotten since the netflix airing of it. I am worried about the live action show coming for it though, with the original creators leaving it. But we're also getting more animated avatar world stuff in the future which is exciting :)

Brimmy

All the reasons why i love Kaminari: he's a big doofus before and after using his quirk hehehehe and as the episode goes on....just a kids show huh XD hands mcgee a.k.a hand boi a.k.a shiguraki (may as well just call him hand boi for now till u've a better handle on the billion other names XD) is just death just multiple kinds of death(hella uber dangerous) idk how else to put it without saying much more about him Yes Bakugo and Kirishima bestest of friends "since when were you so calm and rational?" See he knows :3 hehehehe I love Kiri too he is also big dumb <3 <3 <3 GOD I JUST LOVE ALL OF THESE CHARACTERS AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH ALSO I APOLOGIZE FOR ANY FANGIRLING NOW AND IN THE FUTURE

Sandy Gamboa

I just wanna say how happy I am that you gave Tsu the credit she deserves! Not many people recognize her ability to keep people calm and think rationally in an emergency this early in the show. Shows that you're really paying attention and picking up what the writers are putting down!
