IDK if you are going to see this. Your 3-4 min discussion at the end of episodes are much more important, sometimes accurate, mind-opening and interesting than the discussion that some channels have for like 1 hour. Its fast, smart and philosophical. You are straight to the point even tho you dive so deep. My english isnt that good so i dont understand %5-10 of the words you use but you made me think more than i think i ever did in my whole life in this reaction series.

Jupiterninja

anyone else only 360p?

benj

lol weird same here edit: Its 1080p now regular just took time to load

Katie Barnes

so excited to see your reaction to the next episode!

malikparah

Couldn't tell if you recognised him but Premier Zachary was the judge who presided over Eren's trial in s1

a. tree

Totally! Curious, how far ahead are you at the moment?

Megan

You’re much more perceptive then I was the first time watching this. I was incredibly confused lol.

Loved your assessment of Erwin here! It's super interesting because while his actions are vindicated based on both the nobles' clear immorality and what we know to be true about the Scouts, there definitely is a (perhaps righteously) selfish element driving Erwin. He wants to find out the truth about humanity to prove his father right, and thus like Zackly said, something deep in him cares about the search for truth of the Walls only insofar as as Erwin is there when it is discovered. Armin talks a lot about the idea that change-makers must be able to sacrifice anything in able to make an impact, but the conversation between Erwin and Darius Zackly reveals perhaps the one thing that, deep down, Commander Smith is not quite ready as ready to sacrifice as he seems: himself. Speaking of Armin, I'm very curious (and not sure if this is relevant anymore because of how far ahead you might be): what are your guesses as to the answer to his questions at the end?

Kotryna

The "I'll see you next time" hurts almost as much as the "to be continued" lol Also this is my 100th comment woohoo

I really resonated with your point about Erwin always being critical about himself. His character gives the impression that he knows what he wants and gives everything to his cause; no regrets. Yet, it’s true to say that no one can’t be as “sure” as Erwin seems to be about himself without being sure that other outcomes are preferable. One might say that that impression we have of him is only what we see; it’s the personality he protects. Yet he is quiet and not boastful. He is constantly thinking and considering his path. So to be sure about yourself you must be always be critical about yourself. Thanks Alex. At least that’s what I was able to reflect on today.

Part of what I like about Erwin so far is that he's willing to sacrifice just about anything, but while he talks about sacrificing his ideals or his humanity, etc, he seems to be pretty consistent about aiming at something bigger than himself. If that's selfishness then I support it lol. What will be interesting to see is what happens if/when his specific goals of proving his father right force him to make choices that he feels are wrong or immoral. As for Armin, I could see it going a number of different ways, but based only on the trajectory he seems to be on, I can't help but feel like Armin will go a little too far down that road of "everything must be sacrificed."

Nick

Imagine being held hostage by the government, only to end up holding them hostage not 5 minutes later. Erwin Smith everybody. I think the next few episodes are going to blow your mind lmao. I'm wondering though, how has your perception towards Hange changed so far? Considering how she was in season 1 to how she is now.

Great reaction as always! I am very excited for future episodes. Have you decided on whether you'll watch the end credits or not on episode 12 ? I am okay with either way, it is very cool and exciting, pretty vague but if you look too much into it you might figure out a certain development in s3p2. I'd like to see your reaction to it but also not if its going to spoil things for you. Also I'm sure people already said it but do not watch s3p2 opening til the last 2-3 episodes. Its straight full of spoilers.

agoodwintv

Awesome, I'm glad. I definitely think there is danger in over-relying on certain self-identities such as "I'm intelligent," "I'm good," "I'm moral," "I'm righteous," etc., because none of them can adequately sum up who we are at every moment throughout our entire lives, and it shifts the focus away from questions like "what would be the right thing to do in this specific situation." It also makes it hard to grow, because if you're already great, what's the point of absorbing new ideas or information? I think having some humility in that way and openness to each new situation helps avoid the danger of overconfidence and extreme moral relativism. As long as it's not on the other end of the spectrum, which I guess would be being extremely over-critical of oneself and paralyzed.

agoodwintv

She's a lot more 3D to me now. I thought she was a little nuts at first. Well... I guess I still do, but add to that that fact that she's extremely intelligent, capable, a good leader, courageous, etc

Nick

Yeah I agree. In season 1 she seems cartoonishly crazy and obsessed. Then season 2 gave her some moments here and there, and now in season 3 it's much more front and center with her character. One thing that sticks out to me is the moment where Sannes (the military police guy getting tortured) warns her about cycles and how people will always be there to replace positions. Hange is one of my favorites. Definitely a bit crazy, but also seems capable enough that I would still put my trust in her despite that. Which is what many characters do lol. She's an oddball, but she also shows up when she needs to and is very intuitive. I know a lot of people praise the creator of AOT, and he is a fantastic writer don't get me wrong, but I think most people can agree his character writing gets way better as the story progresses. It was one of my bigger issues with the first season. It's also like you said in a previous reply, characters feel more human in this season.

Amit

Hahaha idk what they were thinking with S3P2 opening. They were like lets show a 2 min highlight reel of the whole season. S4 opening(my absolute fav) on the other hand is watchable from the first episode id say

Man, I really love your discussions and your thoughts about Erwin as a character. I can't wait till later when the shows goes even more in depth with his character. Erwin is def an incredible character and one of my favorites. The best part for me is that even thou Erwin is made to be such a great character, a role model. The show reminds us he's still just a human like anybody else by giving us glimpses of his vulnerable part on the inside. That's just so relatable for real life. You can see this great person that looks like he's living a perfect life. But you can never understand the hardships he might be having just from looking at him from the outside. No matter how perfect your life or great of a person you are, you will still have hardships you need to struggle against. I'm just so bored of all the shows where they make the characters look like they've won life already. Yup you have attained godly status and you will never ever struggle, you will always know the perfect decision and it won't ever make you have doubts about what you're doing.

benj

@Amit Lol yeah its kinda baffling looking back at it, but Season 3 Pt2 is just so good that it didn't ruin the viewing experience for anyone who got basically the whole season spoiled.

agoodwintv

Thanks! I still haven't quite decided. Maybe I'll flip a coin :'D I guess at this point I'm leaning towards watching it, just because I haven't been really quick to figure out plot stuff, unless it's character-focused.

agoodwintv

Erwin is one of my favorite parts of the show so far. Like I mentioned 1 or 2 episodes ago, I got a little choked up seeing the intro again after hearing Erwin's backstory. Thinking of him as a kid and having to deal with his father's death put everything in a different light.

agoodwintv

And that is another thing I like about the show, the sadness of certain characters is extremely subtle. Levi also grew on me in that way, where I suddenly realized he WASN'T just a tough guy.

I'd advice you not to watch the end credits on episode 12. I actually missed that part and I'm convinced that I ended up enjoying S3 part 2 a lot more than if I had seen it :) Love the videos as always

Alex Begley

With all the build up from this debate now, that moment will probably be stuck in your head throughout the entire season until it happens haha

joe martin

just so you know what you're getting to if you decide to watch it, those end credits literally show a scene and multiple screenshots from late into s3 pt2. aot does a lot of foreshadowing, but i really see the anime showing a future scene as taking their creative liberty wayyy too far, but ultimately it's your choice. i just think a lot of us don't want your viewing experience to be less enjoyable than it could be, but if you're okay with seeing a scene from a later episode then that's all good i'm here for the ride either way

minimonie__

hange impresses me more and more this season. i never really paid attention that much to her character but we can definitely see how perceptive and intelligent she actually is!

minimonie__

also the way she said "hurry up and sketch it!" after seeing eren's ripped face cracks me up xD

Anonymous

But they did that in the first seconds of S3 E1, why is nobody saying anything about that? It is literally the same thing, and he already watched that, so I don’t really understand why so many people are against it. I also don’t really care. I just think it’s funny how in both cases they show 30 seconds from the future, and in one case everyone is like whatever, and in the other one they are so against it

It’s rough living on the East Coast pondering if it’s bedtime or deciding to hold out for the late upload.

west coast goodwin stans are blessed

The Intro with all three makes me jealous on how awesome they were and how awesome they are. Also hits different. I finished the series with Yaboiroshi’s Patreon and it’s crazy how much secrets besides just walls defending humanity from Titans.
