**EDIT**

WOAHHHHHHHH that's a lot of recommendations! I feel like this post is such a great resource not just for me but for anyone who is looking for something to watch 🤣

Thank you all for the amazing options!

FIRSTLY, I’m updating just to bump the post for any last-minute suggestions.

SECONDLY, I realized soon after posting that I made a huge oversight not providing a list of things I've already seen.

Here are the shows from your recommendations that I have already seen, or seen a lot of, in alphabetical order:

3rd Rock from the Sun

Better Call Saul

Black Mirror

Bojack Horseman (S1-S5)

Breaking Bad

Code Geass

Cowboy Bebop

Death Note

Dexter

Ergo Proxy

Firefly

FLCL

Fleabag

Futurama

Game of Thrones

Great Teacher Onizuka

Heroes

King of the Hill

Lost

Monster

Neon Genesis Evangelion

Parasyte

Queen’s Gambit

Rick and Morty

Samurai Champloo

Sherlock (Cumberbatch version)

Stranger Things

The Expanse

The Mandelorian (S1)

Westworld (S1)

Xavier Renegade Angel (best show)

Of these, I would be willing to rewatch or continue watching:

  1. Evangelion - One of my favorite shows but it’s been a very long time since I’ve seen it.
  2. FLCL - short but packed, I have a lot to say about it. I will probably do this anyway.
  3. Code Geass - I remember loving it but remember NOTHING about it except that there’s a guy named Lelouche
  4. Great Teacher Onizuka - I’ve never actually finished it. I’ve tried twice and there’s always a part that makes me drop off. Though I feel like most of the video would just be me laughing.
  5. Rick and Morty - I haven’t seen the most recent season
  6. The Mandalorian - I’ve only seen season 1
  7. Bojack Horseman - I've seen all but the final season

Let me know if any of these still interest you or if you have any other last-minute suggestions. I will be posting the official poll based on this list on Sunday (my time).

See you then!

**END EDIT**

TLDR:

Let me know what shows you'd like me to include on the upcoming poll for what's after FMAB!

(Patreon does not allow write-in options or poll editing, unfortunately, so I need recs in advance)

Overly Long Version:

I can't believe we're approaching the end of FMAB! It's always a crazy feeling for me to come to the end of these shows because it feels like a major stage in my life is ending, in the most bittersweet of ways.

It's been my intention for a while to decide the next show to fill the FMAB slot through Patreon polling. Unfortunately, because Patreon's poll feature is not great (no editing after posting / no write-in choices) I need to know what options I should include beforehand.

For that reason, let me know in the comments what you'd like me to include on the poll. Everything and anything is acceptable as a suggestion. One suggestion I've gotten a lot so far is to just focus exclusively on Attack on Titan, which is a possibility. Etc.

Even if you've recommended something before or it seems too obvious to even say, do me a favor and recommend it again, just so I can be sure I don't miss anything (I get a lot of recommendations).

Here's my planned schedule regarding this post, the poll, and videos:

3/28 (today) - Poll recommendation form goes up (this post)

4/2 (Friday) Poll recommendation post gets bumped for those who missed it

4/4 (Sunday) - Official poll goes up

4/5 (Monday) - Last episode of FMAB

4/7 (Wednesday) - FMAB Bloopers? Or some other FMAB extra

4/9 (Friday) - FMAB Q&A

4/10 (Saturday) - Poll gets bumped for those who missed it

4/11 (Sunday) - Poll Closes

4/12 (Monday) - Day off, no video

4/14 (Wednesday) - New schedule begins

The Attack on Titan and ATLA Rewatch schedule is unchanged.

Thanks in advance for the recommendations! I'm very excited to see what's next :D

I wouldn’t mind if you focused exclusively on Attack on Titan. But if you do a second show, Hunter x Hunter, She-ra, and Bojack Season 6 would all be top of my list! Edit: also Yu Yu Hakusho (same author as HxH). Not many people react to it, so I’d love to see your thoughts on it

Hunter x Hunter! or Death Note!

The Witcher (on Netflix)

Makima

have you seen death note?would be a good one

The Promised Neverland!!!!

malikparah

She-ra and the princesses of power and fruits basket (2019)

Have you seen Hunter x Hunter? That's the only anime series I like more than FMAB

QuillerKeen

JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure it’s been too depressing lately

Derek P

Vinland Saga would probably appeal to you quite a bit considering the themes of the show

Anonymous

Double Attack on Titan or Death Note!

Fate/zero Amazing series with beautiful animation and also lots of potential for other shows to continue the story in the same or different ways :)

a. tree

Erased — I might come back and give a little synopsis on why I think this is a show you would love, but would appreciate if someone in the comments below could comment (note, it's just 12 episodes)

Jupiterninja

It might be too goofy for you but the show Gravity Falls has a great overall story! It’s definitely not the main focus though, it’s more of a kid show than atla. Edit: ooh someone else said breaking bad/better call Saul! Yes please!

Anonymous

Jujutsu Kaisen, Demon Slayer, and Promise Neverland!!

Anonymous

If you want to try something outside of anime (and if you haven’t seen them yet) then Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul.

Anonymous

I would love to see you react to Fate/Zero or Code Geass, either would be awesome!

Ronald Legree

Death note or hunter x hunter

Kyle Chong

The clone wars is a great show

Soren Monroe

Here are all the things I’d like to see you react to: - Voltron legendary defender - Star vs the forces of evil - Daria - Carmen Sandiego (the newer one) - SheRa - RWBY - Blood of Zeus (mini series) - Mob Psycho And these are shows I recommend u watch but I don’t think would make for good react series: - Miraculous Ladybug (my favorite show of all time, I even got a ladybug tattoo cuz of this show lol) - The Deep (cartoon on Netflix)

Anonymous

Jujutsu kaisen or vinland saga🔥🔥🔥

Anonymous

The shows a bit less deep but is still super compelling if you like watching sports and motivation, I like haikyu!

NitrousOxide19

my hero academia is a fave of mine (same studio as FMAB), a show like fruits basket would be great for you to react to(it’s about relationship and romance but so much more too), the promised neverland, demon slayer, banana fish and maybe some netflix shows like vikings would be cool too! i love your content and breakdowns, would personally watch anything you react to!

Anonymous

Gravity Falls, Stranger Things

Danisha McNary

Have you finished Bojack yet? Could be a cool little Patreon exclusive since you’ve already seen most of the series

Anonymous

Re:zero would be cool to see with your way of deconstructing tropes and characters!

Adam Vialpando

I think Assassination Classroom would be a great choice. Despite the crazy premise it deals with more everyday relatable problems than other shows. Not to mention features the best/craziest teacher ever. Dub if you can.

The Promised Neverland S1 or Hunter x Hunter.

Steins;Gate (dub is top tier), has 50 episodes if you include the OVAs ( 2 out of 3 of them are arguably mandatory). It is a show that has a lot more content worthy of deeper discussions which are the best part of your reactions in my opinion. Also Violet Evergarden (Flawless dub/writing) is another option that provides a lot of content within the episodes for deep discussions. It's 13 episodes long with 1 or 2 OVAs that are optional, but well done. Has the best animation (western or anime) of any series in existence that I have watched, nothing else comes close in my opinion. Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron Blooded Orphans (two 25 episode seasons) has a lot of action, Sci-fi Mecha. Action sequences are high quality, but will explore deeper issues between that would provide for some great reaction discussion.

Zavooloo

Black Sails: Think GoT but before GoT and with pirates. The Boys: Super"hero's" that you won't be able to stomach The Great Pretender: Bebop style but every episode tends to be a plot guessing-game

Anonymous

I would love to watch your reactions to The Good Place

Aidan Pullen

Death Note Erased Steins Gate

Nick

I've been looking for an excuse to watch great pretender because I've only heard fantastic things

Aidan Pullen

I'd also second Wandavision (I saw someone else mention it)

Jay Crigler

I suggest my hero Academia its definitely one of my favorite but ill watch whatever you watch probably finish b4 you too lol

Dominic Caciappo

Steins;Gate (according the MyAnimeList) the top three rated anime currently is Attack on Titan (Just recently passed FMA:B) Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood, and Steins; Gate. Without giving you to much information Steins Gate is an anime I think that would be great with your analysis and we can get into some great discussions over it, great characters, a bit of a build up, only one season, not a big commitment. My other recommendation is a recent anime called Vinland Saga, its made by the same studio that did Attack on Titan season 1-3, it's a story about Vikings, and has some great philosophies to exploren and another anime we can have some great analysis and discussions from you, it is another one season anime but a second season should be releasing this year, the manga has been going on for a long ass time, so there is a ton of material to be adapted.

Mildish Zombino

I'd love to see you react to the Teen Titan series (if you havent seen it already. The cartoon. NOT the Go version.) Aside from the anime tropes there are some very memorable moments and quite a few episodes do a deep dive on the characters and explores themes we can relate to that I think would make fir great talking points.

Tim Xi

Death Note or Code Geass are my two choices!

meg

I would like to hear your analysis on shows like death note, erased, or parayte they have a lot of interesting themes and great story telling!

Dempsy

I have a ten. 1. Jojo's Bizzare Adventure (my fav anime of all time) 2. Ben 10 (all 4 series) 3. One Piece (big commitment but totally worth) 4. Stranger Things 5. Hunter x Hunter 6. Adventure Time 7. Gravity Falls 8. Death Note 9. Steins;Gate 10. One Punch Man

Anonymous

Dr. Stone, Assassination Classroom, Oregairu, Mob Psycho. Double AOT is good, but it's still ongoing and Season 4 - Part 2 airs in like 10 months so maybe that would give you enough time to start a new anime after you catch up to AOT and start the rewatch and be done rewatching by the time the season resumes.

Mac Muscara

RWBY!! It's one of my favorite shows and I'd like the think you'd enjoy it too

Sam B

Space Dandy is 26 episodes, it's light, it's heavy, it's silly, it's serious, it's bonkers. It experiments with a lot of cool universal theories.

Sam B

Space Dandy is made by the same creators of Cowboy Bebop and Samurai Shamploo which are both amazing amazing shows as well. All 3 are right around 26 episodes.

Kollie123

Rascal does not dream of bunny girl senpai is a great and short romance/psychological anime I think you would really get a lot out of

Anonymous

Or honestly MHA could be fun

Anonymous

Demon Slayer

War2244

Gintama: (Very long 360+ episode and two movies) but it's widely considered one of the greatest shounens off all time. It's mostly a comedy anime but the serious arcs are some of the best there are. It's got several seasons on MAL top 10 list. Vinland Saga : An amazing show about vikings in the era of Lief Erikson and his journey to colonize Vinland. The show has an amazing cast of a characters who all feel very real and interesting. Some of the best villains written IMO. JoJo's Bizzare Adventure: A classic manga made in the 1986 and remade into a high quality anime in 2012. The series follows the Joestar bloodline through their battle against different foes. A personal favorite anime and manga of mine. The series has been running for over 30 years and it just keeps getting better every season. March Comes In Like a Lion: An amazing show that is a slice of life. It deals with a 17 year old prodigy who has lots of issues and depression. The series explores why this happened and how a family he meets helps him through it. Two seasons of greatness, Season 2 breachs on some more great topics that I think you would have a good time dissecting. Made in Abyss: The embodiment of "Don't Judge a Book By It's Cover" The show looks cutesy at first but in reality it houses a mysterious world field with amazing lore and scary monsters. This series is only 13 episode and has 1 movie. Both extremely good! Your Lie In April: A young gifted musician has quit playing his piano because the emotional trauma he received made him unable to hear the notes. The story is about him overcoming this with the help of amazing characters. Mob Psycho 100: A story about a young boy hide his emotions because he is afraid of hurting people with his psychic powers. Written by the same author of One Punch Man and frankly I think this series is better. I has really good character moments and great topics. Golden Kamuy: A story set in the early 1900's Japan. A former soldier and a native Ainu team up to uncover the mystery of the Ainu's gold and the prisoners with strange tattoo's. The show has a massive cast and the characters are all love-able, even the villains. 3 seasons of greatness. Koe no Katachi (Movie): A movie about a former bully realizing his mistakes and fixing them. This movies covers topics such as suicide and bullying. It has amazing animation and soundtrack. Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu : Is a story set in both the past and present, depicting the art of Rakugo, the relationships it creates, and the lives and hearts of those dedicated to keeping the unique form of storytelling alive. I really loved season 1 and I have heard season 2 is even better. Preferably all of these shows would be watched in Sub. You do you though. I'm just happy if you watch them :)

thevoidbender

Young Justice is really good. Star vs the Forces of Evil is also not bad. RWBY is hit or miss with quality each season it’s either super cool or a train wreck but I think you’d like it. Konosuba is very funny and Rising if the Sheild Hero, Saga of Tanya the Evil and Re:Zero are all good.

Sam B

Oooh and one last thing. There is a blooper real of FMAB that the studio put together along with the voice actors. It is the best 7 minutes of content out there haha. You should do a short reaction to it!

Anonymous

Queens Gambit / Evangelion + The end of Evangelion rewatch / Hunter x Hunter / Assassination Classroom (I recommend this last one, and i think you will have a lot to talk about relating it to your teaching experiences...)

Anonymous

Steins Gate all the way I think you would love it. Dub is best

Sarah Bruce

Since there are already plenty of suggestions for Hunter x Hunter, I'm going to go ahead and throw in Yu Yu Hakusho, which was my all time favorite before FMAB came out (and depending on the day still might be). I'm sure it wouldn't win a poll over HxH or some of the other suggestions but I do think it's fun to see the similarities/differences/evolution in Togashi's writing between the two. I'm sure you'd have a great time with either show though.

Anonymous

Cowboy Bebop or Assassination Classroom! JoJo would be cool too, fun show, not much by way of analysis but enjoyable. Stranger Things I think could be a good fit too.

Sam B

Here's the link. I think you should have it on the bluray too. https://youtu.be/g3aFPN2dEOA

Anonymous

FLCL might be a good option since it partially inspired ATLA.

Leon Inglis

Bojack Horseman is great animated show about mental health in hollywood and im certain you would enjoy it because it follows topics like child actors and the cost of fame, seeing as you were a child actor yourself

/Infinity Train/ is magnificent, and has wonderful stories of personal growth. If you haven't seen /Westworld/, it has very cool ideas about consciousness and free will.

Kaguya-sama: Love is War or Mob Psycho 100

T-mo

Well, if you want something light, I’d say Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts (Netflix, 3 seasons, complete). The Good Place (Netflix, 4 seasons, complete) is funny and quite philosophical, if you haven’t watched it yet. Both Haunting of Hill House and Bly Mannor(Netflix, 1 season each, completed) for some scares but with a lot of heart. Russian Doll(Netflix, 1 season) and Fleabag (Prime, 2 seasons, complete) are masterclasses on storytelling with strong female leads. Good Omens (Prime, 1 season, complete) is what I like to call bible parodies, and I think it’s the best one. Undone (Prime, 1 season, complete) is masterful and the art style is quite unique. Those are the non-anime ones I can think off the top of my head.

Nick

...I have also wanted an excuse to watch Infinity train lol

macrowave

Still here to say Hunter X Hunter lol, you'd especially love how the characters are written and the choices they make I bet

Sam B

Ahhh sorry for all the messages, but Mob Psycho 100 is AMAZING. Amazing dub, stunning animation, great humor, and awesome concepts.

Nick

It has a lot of jokes that can be understood by older audiences though, for sure. Like, I'm surprised Disney allowed Gravity Falls to exist lol. It's hilarious

Kadin Lebreton

Vinland Saga is the best show for your reaction style. So much to take away from it...Plus it's only 24 episodes and I know you were looking for a shorter series.

Nick

I think my comment is deleted, which is fair because it was pretty long. Here's just a short version. Fate/Zero, Firefly, Futurama. Samurai Jack?

Itachi The Rouge

Fate/Zero AND Fate.Staynight as it’s all one story, Or my hero academia, Or money heist the Netflix series. Honestly I don’t care much I’ll be happy with your breakdown of any show

Anonymous

I've already seen some of the comments recommending Mob Psycho 100 but I really want to do it again. It is an amazing show and has really good humour and character development. And also Vinland Saga is amazing as well, it has one of the most interesting "villains" I've seen in recent anime and I think you'll really like it. 10/10 recommend.

R'Mani Leavell

I know you said you would for sure watch the 2003 FMA when you finished brotherhood, you just didn't think you would react to it, but if you did that would be welcomed. If not, completely understandable. And I know you say you like to find meaning in shows, so the only thing that I can think of that you could enjoy/appreciate is "The Good Place". I can't think of any anime, or western shows that I would like to see a reaction series of. Edited: Actually I would also recommend the Fate series

Anonymous

"Great Teacher Onizuka" or "Assassination Classroom" would be fun because I think it would be interesting to hear your perspective as a teacher

Anonymous

I would love to see Attack on Titan focused on until you're caught up, but if you end up not going that route, Assassination Classroom is such a great one. It would be really cool to hear your thoughts on the themes it presents. Hunter x Hunter, Demon Slayer, and My Hero Academia, are solid picks as well!

Hunter x Hunter! There are very deep, well-developed characters and themes that I would love to see you dissect and discuss.

BotheredAsh

My Hero Academia would be a good watch also. Sorry I'm out of touch with everything but anime so I can only recommend anime.

Sal Inger

Vinland Saga Made in Abyss Code Geass Hunter x Hunter (2011) Promised Neverland Jujutsu Kaisen

Jabin (Aelic)

I think you would absolutely love Naoki Urasawa's Monster, It has incredible depth in human psychology and a lot to talk about when it comes to philosophy. It's overall a fantastic show as well.

Anonymous

Hunter X Hunter, My Hero Academia -- longer with at least 4 seasons out Erased, Cowboy Bebop -- short series

Anonymous

Bojack horseman (Netflix) it's a bit strange but I think you'd like it.

Meruka Hinaru

Death Note Puella Magi Madoka Magica Haikyuu Hunter x Hunter Code Geass My Hero Academia Demon Slayer

Jo

Anime Exclusive Attack on Titan Death Note (Psychological Thriller / Mystery about a boy with a strong sense of justice acquiring a notebook that can kill people. Both sub and dub are phenomenal!) My Hero Academia (Superhero Shonen, generally quite lighthearted, but with some serious actions and themes, especially as the show goes on. Another with both great sub and dub!) Hunter x Hunter (A deceptively bright and happy adventure turns more dire and serious as the show goes on, but our protagonist remains cheerful and open throughout. Sub is amazing, dub isn't as good, but is far from awful.) For a western cartoon - Gravity Falls (Mystery/Comedy about a peculiar town full of strangeness and two twins spending the summer there with their great uncle.)

Burooj Ahanger

you should watch Young Justice!!

His profile pic is Onizuka, so I would assume that he's seen it. Just speculating, though.

I'll watch whatever series you end up doing. But I recommend : The Good Place, Breaking Bad, Mob Psycho 100, or Infinity Train.

bl0odm1st

Pick a video game and do a let’s play.

Monet Día Lucy

here's my two cents: Death Note (To this day along with FMAB its still one of the top anime ppl keep watching) Jujustu Kaisen (just for funsies) Steins;Gate (because who doesn't love sci-fi)

Anonymous

Mob Psycho 100!

Kassandra

Infinity Train or The Good Place. If you'd be interested in a sports anime I'd recommend Haikyuu or Hajime no Ippo

Anonymous

I would love to see My Hero Academia. It's one of my favorite shows, with great characters, plenty of exiting moments, and some depth when it comes to themes to discuss. Plus, with the new season and movie coming, there's a lot of buzz around it right now, and it could provide a good tonal balance alongside AoT. Jujutsu Kaisen would also be a solid choice, although there's just one season out now. I'd also be interested in seeing a reaction to the 2003 FMA; it's been a while since I watched through that version, but I remember really liking it and it would be cool to see what you think of it after Brotherhood! Outside of anime, if you haven't seen Breaking Bad/Better Call Saul or Barry, those are also great.

benj

Sadly none of these will win and they are all romance animes that other people have recommended so here's my 5: 1. Kaguya-Sama Love is War 2. Fruits Basket (2019) 3. Oregairu 4. Bunny Girl Senpai (Do not be put away by the name lmao) 5. Toradora

benj

Kaguya Sama Goodwin reaction series would be the greatest thing to ever exist

oragami53

Death note, Infinity train, Steins;Gate, Gode Geass, oh and breaking bad!

oragami53

Fruits basket is very good!

RyanKat

Bojack!! I think your analysis of that show would be awesome. Demon slayer would also be cool. I think you’d like the attitude of the main character a lot.

Kassandra

I heard Fruits Basket has good character development! I started it recently and have been enjoying it and the dub so far. There definitely seem to be layers to the characters and I'm interested to explore them. If it's true that the show actually does have interesting character development and backstories and stuff it'd definitely be awesome to see Goodwin react to them

Anonymous

I'm going to recommend what other people have said and mention My Hero Academia or if you are interested in a live action show I think you would really enjoy Breaking Bad

Kassandra

Oh, I know you said shows but if you choose to do movies at some point I think you'd like A Silent Voice and it's themes and development

Anonymous

Can’t go wrong with breaking bad! There’s a reason it’s considered one of the best tv shows of all time.

Luis

Devilman Crybaby, or Tatami Galaxy are both really short and good for something longer id say mushishi but that one is also a really slow paced show i dont think everyone would appreciate but i would haha

Anonymous

Just a fun idea because of how insightful you are but a Evangelion rewatch?

Courtney Bogle

If you haven't seen them yet, I feel like either Death Note or Steins;Gate would be fun to see! They both keep you guessing trying to figure out what is going on, but the payoffs are excellent.

Sent Pain

I would love to see you react to hunter x hunter. I think you will REALLY enjoy that one.

Anonymous

Re zero!!

shakerbark

Your Lie in April might be a good show to balance out aot. A little drama/slice of life would be a nice break from all the action and gore, rather than jumping into just more shounen and action. You don't eat filet mignons for every meal people, you need to reset your palette every now and then with a beautiful, fresh salad. Your Lie in April has my support!

WolfWarrior623

My vote as I and others have said before is of course She-Ra, both because it's good and because while it's technically 5 seasons, 2 of them are short and more like 1 together, so more like 4. and it's just great and I think you'd have fun with it.

JDalsing

After Reviewing everything, HunterXHunter should win.... followed by re-zero

witz

Yesss BCS is arguably even more interesting in my opinion, it is such a character study of everyone involved. Great writing and of course cinematography is awesome too. Plus it'd be great to see a live action for once instead of just animated shows

Anonymous

My Hero Academia or Yu Yu Hakusho

JDalsing

If you want take a poll, we want you to watch (hunterXhunter (sub) No chance. but if you want isekcai, let us know....

witz

omg yesss such a dope show, plus i feel it covers stuff he prob. hasn't talked about through other shows. It deals with a lot of different issues, not many cliche topics. Plus it's one of the most amazing things I've ever seen cinematically speaking (this includes the awesome music too)

matt_lot_

Death note (plz watch sub for your non English speaking fans) Code geass( also sub) Hunter x Hunter

benj

Your Lie in April would be great, but their is no way it wouldn't get spoiled for him at some point while watching it unfortunately

Suki

I always watch and prefer subs personally, but these are my recommendations that just so happen to have good dubs as well! ~Death Note (37Eps, great dub!) ~Mob Psycho 100 (25Eps, great dub!) ~Steins;Gate (24Eps, great dub!) ~Erased (12Eps, okay dub) I would have put Parasyte here too, but I know you've watched it already. Not against rewatches, but I'm not really interested in them myself. Hunter x Hunter is my favourite, but it's over twice as long as FMAB if that matters.

JDalsing

You want something real with HunterXhunter? Code Gueass....

Anonymous

I would say the ones I would want to see you react to are Sherlock (Benedict Cumberbatch version), Stranger Things ( If you somehow haven't seen it haha), and A series of Unfortunate events ( The tv show).

R'Mani Leavell

Wow, I bet you didn't expect to get almost 200 comments in just a few hours lmao

Anonymous

I think hunter x hunter is actually a great idea. It’s one of those shonen like FMAB that break from traditional character and plot tropes. My hero academia would be a good one too.

JDalsing

You have good tase, with re:zero, but MHA? Deku is awful!

Albert Rhodes

Based on how you like to try to take deeper meaning and food for thought from what you watch, I would recommend either Death Note or Pyscho-Pass. Plenty on here are already singing Death Note's praises, no doubt, but I ADORE season 1 of Psycho-Pass. It falls a little flatter from season 2 and on, but there's a lot of big, societal things to contemplate there. Both have fantastic dubbing too.

MrEvers

I would like you to watch things that fit the themes you enjoy talking about: * Adventure Time. Starts as a weird and wacky kids show, then it starts delving deeper. * 3rd Rock from the Sun. Classic sitcom, but it's aliens learning about humans. * The Morning Show. Advertised as a comedy, with Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon, but actually an introspection on a #MeToo situation. * And in case you've never seen it: Futurama. * Not sure if you'd want to dive into a pure scifi show, but Battlestar Galactica (the modern version) also offers deep insights into war & morallity. I feel you'd offer great commentary (but if you watch it, don't forget it doesn't start with 1x01, but with a miniseries)

Anonymous

This might be a weird suggestion but King of the Hill is still one of the best animated show ever made

Francesca White

ok so i'm just gonna do a list lol: She-Ra, Fruits Basket 2019, Infinity Train, My Hero Acadamia, Madoka Magica, Death Parade, Death Note

Francesca White

specifically Fruits Basket 2019 since that's the full story, very similar to how FMAB tells the whole Fullmetal Alchemist Story

Nyashaxo

Jujutsu Kaisen, One Punch Man, Mob Psycho 100

themightyabe

Steven Universe is gonna be my recommendation. Not saying that every other pick in the comments isn't also good, but I think it'd be nice to see you react to shows that have different themes and controlling ideas.

Anonymous

Monster would be a greay fit for you (lots of philosphy in there). It's a thriller! Mob Psycho 100 is my favourite anime adaptation of all time, it's a SUPER interesting take on shonen with a unique art style (also the dub is EXCELLENT). Psycho-Pass is another thriller with a lot of potential for your kind of philosophical commentary My Hero Academia is one of the newer iconic shonens, definitely worth a watch (and the dub is great, though i still slightly prefer the subs!) Death Note is a classic you would go CRAZY for, big psychological thriller. Beastars is an... interesting mix of genres. One of my favourite manga & anime adaptations.

Anonymous

I highly suggest Monster and if other people have seen it they can back me up that this is your kind of show. One of the most philosophical and deep dives into the human condition and human psyche that youll probably ever see in anime. No amount of praise I give can do it justice. That or Id love to see you watch rewatch Eva (Im pretty sure you watched it) to hear your full contextualized opinions and thoughts. Thats a masterclass show as well

Christo Badenhorst

I recommended monster on a previous post and he sadly acknoledged he has already seen monster. Would have liked to see his reaction too

Soren Monroe

I already submitted some recs and I’ve never been too interested in seeing reactions to live action shows, but I gotta admit, I think you’d really really like Jane the Virgin. From the outside it looks extremely cliché: innocent girl gets pregnant and life plans and romance are disrupted. And there definitely is this element in the beginning, but the show very quickly becomes much much more than that. The show is essentially a parody of telenovelas while also being a serious telenovela itself (its very self-aware in its irony and comedy). It is a comedy and drama but once it’s sucked you in, everything feels completely serious and the humor just feels like the natural humor we have in life (if that makes sense). Not only does the plot expand much further from pregnancy and romance to include crime, murder, mafias, and mystery, but it deals with heavy themes like ptsd, sexual exploration, religion, grief with grace and will 100% force you to reflect on yourself while watching. It’s probably the only show I’d ever say “has something for everyone.”

Ben Barringer

Also a big fan of the Yu-Yu-Hakusho series, one of my favorites from when I was a kid.

Death Note (the anime)

madlad

Steins;Gate is an amazing show (with an amazing dub)

Soren Monroe

Ah I just remembered another show I want u to watch lol this is like my third comment: Bleach

ComicalSkate

The Good Place (for non-animated option), Code Geass (which I think you said you saw a while ago, but I'd still love to hear your thoughts on the topics in the show), Death Note (a classic), Great Pretender (for a short anime option), Castlevania (Netflix) or The Devil is a Part-Timer (for a short fun dive into the Isekai genre). Those are what I can think of on the top of my head. Looking forward to voting in the poll! Edit: Or if you are down to do movies somehow then really any of the Studio Ghibli, Miyazaki films such as Spirited Away. Or, my favourite anime movie, Your Name would be an excellent movie for you to react to with your style of reactions!

Anonymous

Haunting of Hill House is really incredible if you like scary shows.

Anonymous

(Oh dang it - I apologize for the double post, but I swear I meant to continue with adding another line, lol) Um, so to have my complete list here: - Death Note (the anime) - Psycho-pass - Love, Death, + Robots (on Netflix, it's a collection of very rad scifi short stories) - Made in Abyss Also, if you ever want a break from shows with the potential for Nina-Alexander-chimera-shock intensity and go for things more light-hearted but still with depth in story or lore: - Gravity Falls - Kipo and the Wonderbeasts - Hilda (on Netflix, this may be pushing it on the low end of your audience age demographic, but it's a beautiful show with good character development, rich universe, and a protagonist always seeking adventure).

Lys

jujutsu kaisen or psycho pass!

Blique

Assassination Classroom (sub) Steven Universe Both have great characters and character depth!

John Wayne

Hannibal would be interesting

Anonymous

I Think She ra or Rwby would be cool

FiioArt

I think March Comes in like a Lion would be cool

Etsch

Dr. Stone: fun science anime, lighter tone if you want a break. A very human positive show. Re: Zero: character heavy, very emotional. Often Depressing. Incredible character development. Black Lagoon: no over arching plot, everyday adventures of modern pirates. Nihilistic show. Dub is necessary. Golden Kamuy: uses a treasure hunt to explore characters in early 1900s japan, focuses a lot on traditions, cuisine etc of the Ainu people. Haikyuu: sports anime about volleyball. I hate volleyball but its one of my favourite anime. Incredible characters.

Paola

Mob Psycho 100 is always my go to - such a good wholesome series. Or Jujutsu Kaisen, I would love to see someone actually seriously watch and analyze the series and characters. Apart from saying oh the animation is bomb and that character is so goat, like damn can I get some serious talk and character analysis. (animation being exquisite is just a bonus)

Anonymous

Steins;Gate

Etsch

He has mentioned Light in one of his q and a videos, so hes seen death note.

Soul Eater is an interesting show. And has a kickass season 1 intro

Black Clover Please. It’s a good watch. It’s kinda gimmicky and light hearted for the most part but it has some intense scenes.

Anonymous

Monster. You will love it. 100%.

Anonymous

Dr Stone or Gravity Falls

Sorin

Apparently he's already seen Monster unfortunately

Christian Medeiros

I would say focus on Attack on Titan!! It's extremely well written and only amps up as it goes. The 2nd part of the final season has also been confirmed to be airing starting late Dec 2021/Jan 2022 and you should be able to catch up in time for the hype if you stick to only AOT. If you dont go that route I'd say Breaking Bad is a great watch.

Brimmy

Dr Stone Tsuritama (learning how to not be so shy and anxious as you gain friendship through fishing) A Lull in the Sea Ancient Magus Bride Death Parade Assassination Classroom Vinland Saga Demon slayer

Anonymous

From what others have already said I definitely would like Death Note and Mob Psycho 100. From Non-Anime I would really love if you would watch the first season of the OA - I think it really opens up a lot of interesting questions and possibilities for discussions. It is also not very long. Are you planning on doing a second voting on maybe the top 5 people like after the initial voting so not so many votes get lost?

Sorin

My first pick goes to the criminally underwatched "Violet Evergarden" which is just an absolute beauty of a show in both its storytelling and its visuals. And it just seems like the kind of show you'd have a LOT to say about (In a good way lol) Other then that here are my other suggestions: Re:Zero Baccano! My Hero Academia Mob Psycho 100 Jujutsu Kaisen Haikyuu!! Steins;Gate Vinland Saga Dororo It would also be totally cool if you doubled down on Attack on Titan. Edit: Just saw another suggestion that I'm mad I forgot, it's not anime but "Bojack Horseman" I think would be extremely interesting to watch you react to and discuss.

Anna Lena Ciplajevs

Vinland Saga or exclusively attack on Titan, demon slayer

minimonie__

My personal vote would be double aot! But I think it would be super interesting to see you react to some movies like 'Your Name' or 'A Silent Voice'. They hold really touching themes that you might like, and I'm sure people would enjoy seeing your tears haha

FiioArt

Alternatively also would be nice would be Re:Zero or something. You got to be careful because some of the shows are really style over substance and your analytical stylings would be sort of wasted on some shows. Of course that's subjective, but it's something you should get a feel on.

Anonymous

If live action shows are an option at all, I'd very much like to see you react to the Expanse!

Anders Pike

Re:Zero would be an excellent choice.

Anonymous

I think something like death note, mob psycho or re zero would be good for you, personally I would also like parasyte, vinland saga, jujutsu kaisen.

237 comments, where are these people on the likes and comments in other videos lmao? Why comment and not also like the Patreon post. I had no idea there were so many heads here but ive also always wondered how there are 900+ patrons and yet only 40-50 comments sometimes less on every vid

Srol

I looked through the comments and I'd +1 these that other people have recommended in no particular order. She-Ra Gravity Falls Steven Universe Infinity Train Adventure Time The Good Place Baccano! If I could add one that hasn't been recommended yet, I do strongly think The Expanse is one of the best shows on TV right now. It does such a strong job of setting up a fascinating world, keeping you guessing as to its mysteries, but also making you care deeply about its characters. And even though it's less likely than The Expanse to be chosen, I'd also recommend Community, just because it's my favorite show.

Hey, I want to add on to your looong list of recommendations haha especially for short shows. * Erased * Terror in Resonance * Devilman: Crybaby * Parasite * Ajin These other two aren’t one season shows but are somewhat quick to watch like dragon prince: * Tokyo Ghoul * My Hero Academia * (maybe Haikyu!!)

Anonymous

I would love it if you watched Mob Psycho 100. It's a quirky show, but it's got a lot of heart. It really does an incredible job exploring its themes and characters. Definitely something you could analyze all day.

Anonymous

You should try "Made in Abyss" it was anime of the year in 2018 , you could try a non anime series also like Chernobyl (only 5 ep).

mapo picker

re zero and Haikyuu are very epic

CastSenpai

Re Zero, Parasyte, or Jujutsu Kaisen 100% man.

Kamolak

Psycho Pass season 1 only, Inuyashiki, Tokyo Ghoul, Parasyte, ReZero, Megalo Box, Mob Psycho 100, (i think youve seen death note and code geass), Assassination Classroom, Noragami, Great Teacher Onizuka, one punch man, monster, welcome to the nhk, zankyou no terror, rick and morty, breaking bad, dexter, homeland, game of thrones Movies like spirited away, perfect blue, princess mononoke. Or maybe some popular live action movies if you haven't seen them. (Full metal Jacket, naked gun, back to the future, etc.)

The Bird of Hermes

Ancient Magus Bride is beautiful show with a fantastic story and Kill la Kill is on the surface a good not so deep anime but someone like you who looks deeper into stuff would probably find the themes of Kill la Kll

Anonymous

The good place maybe? Or just focusing solely on aot for now.

Anonymous

Also I've not seen anyone else recommend this but Good Omens is REALLY good. So I'm gonna drop that in for you to consider it's only one season so it won't be a long one.

A Suresh

I'm a bit late to this party but, I'd like to recommend a trio of shows that aren't as widely known to you. I've recommended a couple of these, but since you've asked here you go: Land of the Lustrous (Houseki no Kuni). I've wanted you to react to this show ever since I watched your ATLA reactions. I think you'll have some interesting thoughts about this and it'll make for engaging discussions. Spice & Wolf, one of very few anime that focus on medieval economics and has very strong character dynamics. O Maidens in Your Savage Season (Araburu Kisetsu no Otomedomoyo) This I'm recommending because you previously mentioned wanting to watch something more mundane like a romance. And this is the best, realest and funniest romance show (anime) that I've seen in recent memory. Looking forward to seeing what you choose! Good luck sorting through it, there are lots of worthwhile recommendations here! (Might recommend using strawpoll or google forms as an alternative to Patreon polls since people can see the outcome of the poll while they vote for it if that's something you care about.)

Anonymous

I'd like to throw Death Parade into the bunch. Amazing, albeit short, anime with an short titled Death Billiards, that was the original version entered into a contest, that then got made into the series. Even shorter, going by runtime, but equally amazing is Over the Garden Wall. Seconding the voices for the following: Death Note Gravity Falls RWBY Banana Fish Steins;Gate Violet Evergarden Made in Abyss Infinity Train Land of the Lustrous (Houseki no Kuni) A Silent Voice

Trisha

Wo the two shows I would love to see is She-Ra and the Princesses of Power and Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts 😍

blackcharcz

Monster <- if I had to pick just one. Citizen Kane of anime. Great but heavy thriller series that is a lot closer to "real" TV than others, so it's a great bridge if you want to start with live drama/action series later. Other options would be: Death Note (also consider live-action version - NOT the one from Netflix!) Violet Evergarden Gankutsuou Fate Series Original FMA (2003) Arakawa Under the Bridge EVE no Jikan Original Ghost in the Shell movie. Most of these are bit older, but definitely worth checking out and talking about, great character-focused series with some interesting philosophy behind them. A ton of great material there. (also +1 to Baccano, still haven't seen it, but always wanted to. It would be fun to join you for blind reaction, for once :) )

Death Note, Code geass, Mob Psycho 100

Karsten Hase

Beastars (i swear its not just for Furrys xD)

Death Note sounds like something you'd have a blast with.

Ian

My hero academia. I think you’d get a lot of good talking points out of it

Elijah baker

Kipo and the age of the wonder beast is also a good show to commentate on

Ruma Risto

Death Note, Bojack Horseman, The Good Place, Devilman Crybaby (very graphic, not sure how youtube would respond), Psycho-Pass, Gurren Lagann, Adventure Time.

Nick

Hilda is really good actually. I prefer the second season a lot more specifically because it feels way less... made for kids, if that makes sense. It reminded me a lot more of Gravity Falls

7thdilemma

One anime I've thought might be interesting for you to watch is Violet Evergarden. It's very different from FMAB or AoT though. It is much more drama based than action/adventure and while there is an overarching plot it's intentionally episodic and is also only 13 episodes. (There is an OVA and a movie too.) That said, I think you could really enjoy it as it's very very character and relationship focused. Both with regard to the main protagonist and those around them. Anyway, it could be a quick show to watch as a sort of interlude before going on another 50+ episode journey. It's also showcases some exceedingly beautiful animation. Some other shows I've seen others mention and would definitely second would be Death Parade Made in Abyss (Amazing OST) Parasyte The Maxim A Silent Voice

4Tom4lepus4

If it doesn't have to be animation, then I would recommend Person of Interest. Like FMA, it connects action with a lot of philosophy and there have only been two people I know who've reacted to it. Another show that I really enjoyed which is animated is Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts! Not quite as heavy as FMA was, but still has some very thought-provoking themes. I'm even writing an essay in university on it :D

Quade Hudson

We've talked about Re:Zero, before. I'm still a huge proponent of it.

Christiaan

Vinland saga, mob psycho & jujutsu kaisen

Anonymous

Baccano! for me (even though it's not gonna win for sure ^^'). The only thing I would vote "against" is focussing only on AoT. I know that personnaly, I don't watch these reactions because I don't like the show. Having only one show reduce the number of interested person for a sbuscription (so I think 2 is better).

my vote is Mob Psycho but I see a lot of interest for My hero Academia and Vinland saga. those are great as well, especially because the new season of MHA just started airing. Based on your interest in analyzing character motivations I think you would greatly enjoy all three of those, but mob is still the best

Hunter X Hunter, Assassination Classroom, Also have to add Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul if you haven't seen them already

Alex Begley

Oh man, it would be so interesting to see Alex react to The Boys!

Alex Begley

After reading through everyone else's recommendations, I've cobbled together a list of my own. I know you've gathered a lot of an anime and animation fan following due to your past content, but I'd love to see a reaction to something live action just to change up the pace a bit. That being said, there's nothing wrong with the anime/animation route, I'll watch whatever! Anyway here's my list. I've gone into it assuming you hadn't watched anything on it, but of course you can skip anything you have watched: Breaking Bad- Wouldn't be surprised if you had seen this, but it's one that I feel obligated to recommend to everyone who hasn't seen it just because of how excellently crafted it is. Such a great character exploration Better Call Saul- If you HAVE seen Breaking Bad, this is a good follow up. Similar craft but certainly stands on it's own as a different yet still great show The Boys- Another dark, gritty and kind of bleak show but it's take on the superhero genre is a breath of fresh air and is also used incredibly well to critique current day society from politics to Hollywood to social media Black Mirror- The only one I've added without seeing anyone else having recommended it purely because it's sooo good. One of my all-time favorite shows. It's a Twilight-esque anthology show with an emphasis on the potential dangers of the future and technology. Very good for thought provocation, and I'd love to hear your opinions on the different things brought up Love, Death + Robots- This would be a rather short series to run through with it only having 18 episodes. It's an anthology series and each episode is based upon a short story and goes into it's own heavy themes about life The Good Place- As others have mentioned, it'd be a lot more lighthearted than recent shows lol but the philosophical nature it has for a comedy is very unique A few one off movie reactions could be nice too Also wouldn't be opposed to the doubling up of Attack on Titan! All things considered, in the end it won't be just you these recommendations are pitched to, but everyone who will vote to actually determine what's watched next

Anonymous

A rewatch of Too Hot to Handle of course. Also, Doctor Stone.

Susanne Cunningham

Over The Garden Wall, if you want something cartoonish, short and thought provoking. Madoka Magica, if you want a deep, shocking Anime. And I will always recommend BBC's Merlin - a lot of questioning of morality and the price of leadership and destiny. Based on how you do your videos and like to go deep into thought, all three of these have different types of messages and things I would love for you to talk about and would make you really have to think on values. I'm excited for whatever you choose though!

William Wellman

Violet Evergarden, still my top recommendation for thought provoking content.

jdthebud

Seems like it'll be easier to avoid having to wait for the second half of the final season if he sticks with 3 per week though?

Steve.

She-Ra :)

Violet Evergrarden, Code Geass, Death Note, I'm trying to think of shows that you would enjoy a lot. So hopefully people will make good choices

ooh yeah also the boys, or some of black mirror. Also can you put (blind or already seen) next to the poll options? or just not include ones you've seen

Mob Psycho 100 is great, its a goofy, badass, and has a great cast of characters that each are pretty unique and not one noted and based off a single personality trait. Highly recommend, its a short two season anime.

Code Geass: Absolute solid show. Has a similar feeling and premise to Deathnote with more action. The two shows are still incredibly different but I can see why people compare them

Jonathan Canfield

I will pick shows that in my opinion have interesting themes and characters and I think you would enjoy and have a lot to talk about: Parasyte -the maxim- (interesting themes about human nature) Vinland Saga (same reasons, bonus: amazing soundtrack) Cowboy Bebop (really REALLY amazing anime, amazing music, amazing everything) Berserk 1997 (but really I would advise reading the manga) One Punch Man (comedy anime but it goes back to more serious themes here and there) Other animated shows that are a bit less deep in my opinion but still enjoyable nontheless: My Hero Academia Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure Wakfu (not an anime but a French animated series that’s really aesthetically pleasing in my opinion)

The OA Sense8 Fruits Basket

Ben Barringer

Sons of Anarchy might be a neat one. Live action, definitely different genre than most of the suggestions, largely action but certainly with meaningful character studies.

Adam Vialpando

Yes on everything you said but especially to Assassination Classroom. Such a great show that explores more of the daily kind of problems a lot of kids will face in school and life. Despite the crazy ass premise.

Adam Vialpando

I believe on his last poll he mentioned he has already seen seasons 1-4 so it would only probably be 5 and 6 reactions.

I only have one recommendation for you and it's the show I am most eager to see you react to: Re:Zero (Restarting Life In a New World from Zero) Why? It has some of the best characters / character development that I have seen in any form of media. The story is mysterious and rewarding. The overall production is nothing short of incredible, the studio really put everything they had into this series and it shows.

Elijah baker

Fairy tail it’s a good anime despite what people say and I think there’s just a lot we as they Goodwin clan can discuss with that show

Mahni Alizadeh

It’s been suggested multiple times but I think since you have such a knack for character analysis, I think Vinland saga or Hunter x Hunter would be excellent choices. Just know HxH takes some time to get going

Jupiterninja

If you like musicals, I cannot recommend Crazy Ex-Girlfriend highly enough! It’s very different from your channel’s vibe though so maybe it’s not the best for this purpose. Consider watching it on your own time lol

For a while now, I've thought that Bojack would be a great show in terms of your analysis and commentary. As long as you'd still enjoy watching it again, I'd enjoy that too. In terms of anime, I'd enjoy a watch-through of Haikyuu or Mob Psycho 100, both are shows with a lot of great character moments and life choices. I think there could be a lot to delve into there, and both are on the lighter end to balance with AOT.

Out of these Rick & Morty and The Mandalorian would be great. Mr Robot (4 seasons) is also a VERY good show that would fit in well I think, there's a lot to say about that show. I'm surprised that I haven't seen it been mentioned yet. Some other things that come to mind are: - Star Wars The Clone Wars / Rebels - Daredevil - Young Justice - The Boys - Harley Quinn - Chernobyl

WolfWarrior623

I now gotta add both Haunting of Hill House and Haunting of Bly Manor to my list of suggestions since I saw someone else suggest it. I think you'd enjoy both. They're both different shows that tackle different themes, and both great in their own right.

Code Geass and Bojack. Bojack has the advantage of very few channels watching it so it could attract more viewers.

wow young justice didnt even make the list :(

You do such a particular style of reaction video, which requires the show you're watching to have meaning beyond the 4th wall, or *something* to extrapolate upon that can be applied to the real world/ absorbed as a lesson. Every time you've closed out a show I've thought "Well how is he going to find another show that's so tailored to his style" and every time the new is announced I kick myself for not thinking of it lol. Excited to see what comes next Edit: whoops. Recommendation- The Boys or One Punch Man for personal, selfish reasons

GTO anime is great but it never finished. The manga introduces a formidable foe to Onizuka that's more than the antics of a bald guy with his Cresta.

I’d really love to see you react to two shows, Re zero and Star Wars the clone wars. Both are great at telling character stories and building emotional investment and your way of analyzing would be awesome for either of these shows.

No lost is complete without Gurren Lagann

I would like to recommend Mob Psycho 100. It's one of my all-time favorites and it seems like the type of show that would be right up your alley.

R. Lewis

If it's not too late I'd like to suggest the anime Eureka Seven! It's probably tied with FMAB for my favourite anime and it covers a lot of themes like the xenophobia, religion, the impact of war etc., but it's also just a really fun, really beautiful anime with mechas and awesome music. Even if it doesn't get added to this poll I'd definitely recommend adding it to a future one!

I'd honestly like to see your thoughts on Hunter X Hunter. The way you analyse and colour your reactions with your past experiences is really interesting and Hunter X Hunter has a LOT of themes that I think you'd have a lot to say about.

Oh I already commented with other shows, but I think Steins;Gate would also be a very thought-provoking and emotional show to watch too!

Say

The Garden of Sinners (Kara no Kyoukai) movie series (total of 7,with additional epilogue; movie length ranging from less than an hour to about two hours). A mixture of urban fantasy and dark mystery. Do note that this series can get pretty adult, especially since it covers extremely brutal yet real life crimes. Very worth the watch though, imo!

You should definitely check out Mob Psycho 100! Great animation and action, plus heart and emotion and amazing characters! (I recommend sub, but the dub is a'ight, too.)

Hunter x hunter would be a brilliant fit to your style, and is a cult classic that I know would help out the growth of your channel by a lot and could help us all learn a bit more per your break downs. Just a friendly suggestion

Gurren lagann! I haven’t seen it in years but it’s so good. I’d love to rewatch it with your reactions! Also assassination classroom it’s a bit out there but god does it pull at your heart strings!

KJ Gaona

Down for an Eva rewatch but most of these other shows I haven't seen so I'd be watching for the first time along with you anyway and thus can't recommend anything. Can't wait to see what you pick!

I’d love to see you’re reactions to Naruto (without the fillers), I don’t know if you’re looking for a series that long but I think you’re take on it would be magnificent.

Steve.

You still need to seriously consider She-Ra

You need to try re-zero!! There will be so many opportunities for analysis on the characters specifically the main character

matt_lot_

Hunter x Hunter really is your kind of show, you would have so much to talk about in it
