Did anyone else watch the entire patreon embedded video only to get to that 10 minute mark and see the "To be continued..." and think: "Wow that was quick!", only to realize it was the youtube version? I was so enthralled by it all I failed to notice the edits and I've even seen this show before lol!

I feel like people like Hannes and now Armin keep giving Eren advice which would normally be helpful in the situations that he finds himself in, and they are, but in terms of Eren's long term development they're some of the worst things you could say to someone like how Eren already is. In the moment, it's a good way to motivate him to move, since she's actively killing people and attempting to kidnap him. But the problem is, he internalizes these things, and it has the potential to push him down a certain path.

Yeah that's my sense of it as well. Eren had a little moment there, in the forest, before everything went wrong. But now in this situation he's getting pushed ALLLL the way in the other direction by the people close to him.

I was really blown away by the Annie “southpaw fighting stance” reveal and how she had the same pose as fighting Erin during training as she did as a Titan.

What's cool is that in episode 21 when eren freezes in shock during his fight with annie some versions of the subs say A- right before his head gets kicked off coz he'd recognised the similarity to her. Also hope you saw the post credits scene for next episode!

It's worth noting that we didn't see the fighting stance the first time around, all we got was Eren's reaction. So don't be too hard on yourself.

Omg I forgot about that! It was the final confirmation I needed to know it was Annie when I was watching. I knew there had to be at least one clue he was missing out on in that episode!

I also like that unlike most reactors you're looking at the Annie situation from a more nuanced point of view. She's only the villain to us because we haven't seen her side of it at all. We saw her wipe out Levi's squad, so of course most people want her to get killed. Your view on it, focused more on the information and perspective she has, is very refreshing Edit: Also NICE next episode is the finale

I'm glad your having fun with season 1 openings, but just wait season 2's opening is so good!! Also don't beat yourself up about not seeing all the clues of the female titan's identity, it was supposed to be a mystery and people were coming up with crazy theories back then too. I just guessed it was Annie after seeing the female titan for the first time but I was like nah everyone in this show is blonde so it probably isn't her. But when they revealed it was Annie I was so shocked because I was just hoping it wasn't her even though all the clues were there. I thought it was all just a misdirect, like the creator was just messing with the audience by making it seem like Annie and then was gonna reveal it to be like Marco or something. I didn't believe it until she started laughing and my heart dropped. I really like Annie's character and this show does a great job of making instantly likable or intriguing characters. Although she was barely on screen before the reveal it still felt heartbreaking because she felt like an unfinished character and we were just getting to know her and this dramatic turn happened and now she seems completely foreign.

I really love how Armin is written - oftentimes "smart" characters fall flat for me and don't really set themselves apart from the rest, but with Armin you really can't help but think 'Damn that boy is a genius' ^^

Thanks for the reassurance :D It's funny how clues work sometimes, there's this back and forth fakeout process that happens, depending on the show. Like, I got a lot of comments about hair color, and that turned out to ACTUALLY be significant, but the first time through it's like... would the author really make the hair color the thing? Seems unlikely. But weirdly that makes it work.

Armin said the suicidal bastard thing to annie to make her think she failed her mission and pause so she didn't hurt anyone else
