About subs: I've gotten a lot of requests for a different version, so from episode 7 on it will be the Crunchyroll version :)

And this is where we learn Eren has always been an extremely intense person. Weirdly just finished watching this episode as you posted this Will update after watching

Cassia

"these people are not.....stable" you took the words right out of my mouth haha

Anonymous

*No Spoilers Here* So it's hard to catch right away, but in the scene with the girl giving CPR to her boyfriend there is one wide shot were you see that he had no lower half, just an upper torso. It really makes the scene that much more painful

Anonymous

I like the subs. I like that I see cussing haha.

Aaron Ong

Don't worry, Isayama understood the type of people these horrible backstories would build. He really doesn't disappoint, and it is so crazy rewatching all this and noticing so many things I never noticed before. I'm glad you're... "enjoying" the show hahaha

NitrousOxide19

remember the last name Ackermann!

Aidan Pullen

"I want Mikasa backstory, she's so mysterious!" 2 minutes later... "uhm, I actually don't want Mikasa backstory." Yeah, it's pretty intense. Watching these characters grow is so interesting. Coming back and seeing where they were at the beginning is so cool for me. Poor Armin too, he just wants to live his life, and things just keep happening to the poor guy.

ArmdVctr

Eren is just a "little" crazy? You have seen an aspect of Eren's character. His ingrained "us" vs "them" mentality that he holds.

Anonymous

Is it weird that this episode made me love erens character the most. There's just so much to erens character that I enjoy and that I wish I could be like sometimes.

hays collins

Ugh I can’t wait for next weeks AOT reactions.

hays collins

I love how they made basically everyone not Asian but had to make the orientals (basically Japanese) the most powerful charectures haha

R'Mani Leavell

This episode shows another layer to erens characters the previous episodes haven’t. Before he was the typical shonen protagonist, now with this part of his story revealed, we can’t tell there’s more to him than initially met the eye.

R'Mani Leavell

Don’t worry, after rewatching this episode for the 10th time, it still isn’t easy to watch

agoodwintv

He gets crazier with every passing episode lol. At first it's like... yeah he's a little over the top. But this was intense

Nick

It’s the same thing when Americans make movies set in other countries. The American is usually a badass lol (I’m saying this as an American btw. It’s just very noticeable)

hays collins

“I’m afraid these Characters are gonna become nihilistic people” people watching season 4 at the moment 😬

Anonymous

the scene where mikasa salutes the little girl and her mother is one of my favourite moments of the series for her! also lol, cute little 9-year-old Eren casually murdering 2 grown men... just another day...

Etsch

Yeah Eren is not well. Its not so much the killing but definitely how remorseless he is. People should have some kind of emotional reaction to ending someones life, but for Eren its no different than swatting at a mosquito.

agoodwintv

Definitely, it's the way he seemed to enjoy it... It wasn't a difficult situation for him at all.

Nick

Update, I have a decent bit to say!: I think it makes sense that they all have this worldview on the prey vs predator, considering the titans existence like you said. They’ve been living their lives isolated in a giant cage, no knowledge of outside the walls. Humans thinking like that is them trying to cope. Also, I think Eren’s dad probably didn’t care about the murder thing, considering that dream/flashback we saw of him yelling at Eren about a key lol. I think out of Eren’s household the only normal person is his mom and we saw how that went. Also really love that even though we have all this craziness, at least we have Connie. I don’t know why but I found myself instantly attached to him watching this with you, he seems relatively normal compared to the rest. Seems like a good guy

Ramon Cintron

It seems wierd at first but Eren has always been confrontational and rather violent and Mikasa kinda picked up on that violence not to mention Eren helped awaken Mikasa's killing instinct which explains why shes soo good right now it's the little details that I enjoy

Jonathan Canfield

Well you can't say Eren wasn't a fighter that's for sure.

Jupiterninja

okay,,, NOW I think you can watch TeamFourStar's attack on titan abridged without spoilers.

Kit

"He's always been crazy" YEAH, yes he was.

Shark-ira

It's not specifically stated in the anime but the reason Dr. Yeager was visiting Mikasa's parents was because her mother had recently gotten pregnant and he was doing a checkup. That's why they were talking about babies at the table :( Anyway, #MikasaBestGirl

ComicalSkate

"There's something bizarre about the whole thing." "How could they do those things as kids." I promise you its not just to set up a character's drive, all things come back around in this show one way or another.

ArmdVctr

It's nice to have FMA to balance out AoT.

Kamolak

What parts of AoT do you know about so far that you haven't seen yet?

Nick

We went from Dragon Prince, a tv show that is usually not hard to watch, to FMAB and AOT, two brutal shows lmao the dynamic duo. Still nice that FMAB has so many humorous moments and bits of humanity put in there I know AOT also has those moments obviously but it seems more rare on purpose

War2244

Eren as a kid was definitely messed up. Look at how he de-humanized the people he killed. Calling them animals wearing human skin. Don't get me wrong, those dudes were indeed monsters but still. At what point in Eren's mind do you becoming less than human, at what point does he find it acceptable to kill you? That's what's scary about him. If you cross that threshold, he will do it.

War2244

I remember way back in 2014, when I just started watching this series. This was my first anime and first time watching subbed. Eren getting eaten in episode 5 threw me for a loop. I was so flabbergasted that they'd do that to the MC. After episode 6 I was like "Is Eren really gone? Is Mikasa the new MC? I mean I like Mikasa and I wouldn't have a problem with it but what happened to Eren." Anyway, I'm glad this was my first anime because it really set me off on the journey to experience all kinds of great stories. It's really nice re-watching this series with you because 1. Your commentary is great 2. There are so many little hints and foreshadowing all over the entire series for future events that are basically impossible to catch unless you have already seen the show. I hope nobody spoils you while you catch up.

War2244

I would advise you to not look in the youtube comment section while reacting to this series. I like watching reactions to the series and the comment section is often plagued with spoilers. I put two different comments on different youtube channels and two different people replied with every single spoiler possible on each comment. Luckily I had already read the manga but that would have been devastating to me if I hadn't. If possible, you should make some moderators out of people you trust on youtube so they can go through the comments for you and delete any spoiler comments. I do that for Anicrunch.

War2244

Another great reaction btw! Well worth the patreon money!

Rudy Strother

Relax, just let him enjoy the show without hinting at what’s important

agoodwintv

I don't remember anything. This all feels new to me, so either I stopped watching pretty early on or I have a terrible memory

agoodwintv

Thanks! Haha I would also be fine with Mikasa as the new MC. So far so good with the spoilers :)

agoodwintv

It's a good idea and I may do that at some point. For now I'm just makings sure to look at comments only when I first post (my community has been amazing so far so I'm putting trust in that continuing to be the case) and also I'm scrolling EXTREMELY cautiously lol

Stephen

I didn't catch it the first time but franz's lower half of his body was gone... which is why Armin mainly told the girl cpr wasn't going to work.

Sh3nx

Hey man, I´m loving your reactions, I can´t help but warn you that the this series its extremely spoileable, I hope you go as blind as you can and stop reading anything regardless AoT (specially now that AoT season 4 its being trending topic every week), This series its worth it, and its one of those shows that gets better and better with every season, to the point that I can call it a masterpiece right now, its completely worth the watch, BUT the fandom its toxic asf with spoilers, so again, beware! Regardless you are in for a ride, I can say that AoT its a series with many layers of complexity, just as you think you figure out things in the series, the series add another layer of complexity and another, it twist previous ones and adds so much to it. I have SO MUCH to talk about it, but let´s first enjoy your blind reaction and see your thoughts on it :D

I think your thought process about their psychology is right. But their world a lot different. And you can see how world's view of Eren is very, INCREDIBLY black-white. There are people and there are beasts/titans

Anonymous

I can’t help but laugh at the scene of Eren closing the door at 16:04. It’s so ridiculously psychotic looking and over the top.
