Y'know, wyverns are officially a type of dragon (just like lindorms, drakes, peludas, zmey, zilants, hydras, wyrms, knuckers, guivres, tatzelwurms, loong, ryu, and ryong), and the idea that they're some completely separate class of mythical creature is a purely arbitrary modern invention (most likely originating from D&D).

No D&D clearly stats they are lesser dragons or draconic in nature, so that notion did not come from D&D.
