You mentioned in your youtube reaction about how Cherry Bullet has been around for awhile but this was their first mini album. Basically a lot of GGs get shafted and only get singles or single albums. Bigger labels or more established groups will get mini albums or full albums since they will sell more. If you look at GG sales they often don't sell very well. BP, MM, OMG, Idle, Izone, RV, ITZY, Twice, and now Dreamcatcher/Loona are kind of the exception. GGs often make money through endorsements, modeling, acting, etc. So for a company if their GG is not selling very much, it doesn't make sense to do more than a single or single album since it is expensive to either buy songs or make them yourself and record them. The singles end up just being a vehicle to get them in the public eye for the other money making ventures. Which sucks b/c i'm sure a lot of these girls would to sing and explore music more. That is why Dreamcatcher is such a crazy story, b/c they get essentially no endorsements or other typical GG things since they are not very popular in Korea. They made money through touring and selling merch similar to a typical western band. And through touring they've become a group with a big following that sells a ton of albums.
