SURPRISE! LIVESTREAM BENEFIT tonight with me, Martha Wainwright, and more... (Patreon)

Hey All!

SURPRISE...because I literally just pulled this one together.

TONIGHT, in a few hours (Sat, Dec 17th at 8pm EST) I'm gonna part of an incredibly special evening with a ton of local artists, including Martha Wainwright, Dar Williams, Emily King, and more. It's a LONG night and I'm only doing one song, but if you're into warm feelings and listening to good music and maybe discovering a new artist...and helping a thing....COME.

It's called “The Sounding Joy” and it's an annual fundraiser that my fave local Woodstockers, Elizabeth Mitchell, curates and MCs every winter. I've done it twice before (including one memorably horrific year when I talked about having a miscarriage that week...and singing "O Holy Night" on toy piano....yep...I did that. The footage is hidden in a box and I'll go look at it in 26 years). 

The night raises very-needed funds for the Washbourne House, a 17-bed shelter run by Family of Woodstock (we've given them money before, remember?) for survivors of domestic violence. 

It is located in a confidential location in Ulster County, where residents receive individual and group support-counseling, case management, parenting and children’s services, advocacy and extensive referrals.

I KNOW YOU. I know who follows my work. I know you all know what life is like out there for many people. It is bad. It is easy to fall through the cracks and have nowhere to go.

We need to help right now more than ever.

So let’s help. 

Tonight, I am going to debut the new song, “Another Christmas”, that I penned early last week and can’t stop going on about (and played in the webcast on Thursday). 

I'll be accompanied by Elizabeth’s daughter, Storey Littleton…I‘ll also be releasing a video of the song (if we don’t mangle/destroy it??) here, later this week and chuck a little extra dough for the Washbourne cause … I also made a beautiful demo of the tune and I’ll be sending that to y'all patrons only sometime soon. We'll see. 

This song won’t “come out” publicly yet. 

It’s so good I think I may have to save it for the upcoming The Dresden Dolls album. (Drum rolllll).

I love my patreon and you all help me .... and help me help others. I can release new music to my little kitchen and get the warm fuzzies that I need to carry on. And do charity work all at once. It’s amazing.
