hello loves! 

IT IS TIME TO TOUR.

i've just landed in scotland for a few days at neil's vacation house in the isle of skye...which is always a complicated place for me. the last time i was here i was accidentally pregnant, about to have an abortion i wasn't emotionally or mentally prepared to deal with, and at the lowest ebb of my adult life. wheee. remember reading that part of my book? here i am again. 

being back here isn't easy, this spot and landscape has always felt cold and unforgiving. it's always a mirror, of course, and everything here has deep roots and no leaves for a reason. i've been in such a strong, steady place in my life lately that it all feels like an interesting test...another measuring stick of whether i'm able to stay grateful and graceful in the face of unhealed, very real physical and emotional pain. 

all of this is difficult for neil: he bought this house as a sort of fantasy-home, an escape hatch from the pain of his own world, and he gets upset when the fantasy is disturbed. it's a very typical marriage moment, this place has always been a source of emotional clashing for us, and seeing why becomes a little easier to untangle with each passing year. i'm finding that the easiest way to digest all these hard feelings is to write about them, for you. yes, you. neil reads my patreon as well, so it's also for him.

you, my readers, are closer to my heart right now than you'll ever know. you're keeping me steady. i love you all, a lot. 

ash is, too. i've missed him. he's talking more and more and entering a stage of WHY WHY WHY WHY which i am finding totally delightful. we are finally on the same page!

MEANWHILE, there is work to do!

i’d like to ask for your help in getting the word out on the tour i'm currently doing.

as you know: it's...different. it's just me and a piano (okay, and a ukulele sometimes), telling some of the most honest, hardest (and funniest) stories i've ever told. i've had a rough eight years: abortions, marriage, childbirth, miscarriage...the death of my very best friend to cancer. WHEEEE. FUN. 

but the concert is fun. it's hard and fun.

this isn't a "concert" as much as it is an intimate catch-up over a bottle of wine, with some of the most personal songs i've ever written, and a ton of humor to make the medicine go down. 

i know a lot of you already have tickets, but the UK tour is now only about 50% sold out, and the european tour is about the same. some of these halls are HUGE and there's no chance i'll sell them out, but i'd like to make sure the halls are at least half full.

why did this happen? eh. some very risky and probably slightly erroneous booking choices.

on this tour i will be visiting several cities i’ve never played before including essen, cork, offenbach am main, bexhill, cardiff, limerick, york & dunfermline.

this is such a personal show, and trying to hand-sell it to people who have NEVER seen me before is not an easy task.

it's why the word of mouth element of spreading the word is so, so, so important.

this is where you come in. if you live in any of the countries that i'm about to hit....HELP ME.
