hello my loves
here's a ten-minute voice-ramble from, here's a plot twist, *yesterday*....i recorded it when i woke up and then the day....well, it did what days do lately. it ran away...and i didn't get a chance to post.
i promise you, like a good, willing avocado, it has not gone bad after one day only. it has only softened and become more delicious.
i talk about self-care, how differently i feel leaving for this tour, and how our ideas of taking care of ourselves weirdly evolve over time.
i'm a little off kilter right now, mostly because neil is having a rough time for various reasons, and it's hard to leave for tour when the home fires are sputtering.

if you want to READ the voice ramble, lovingly transcribed by alex (and peruse the entire archive of transcribed voice rambles) click here:
and QUESTION, please answer:
if you've been listening to these: do you care if i continue to include the soundcloud link? do you prefer soundcloud link to embed, or vice versa. sound off in the comments please.
i will try to post something tomorrow before I LEAVE FOR TOUR....but there is so much to do in the run-up that i wonder if i'll have time. i'll try.
if not....
wish me luck, everybody.
i'm working on the show all day. it's so unromantic.
it looks like this:
also: HAVE YOUR ART BOOKS ARRIVED????????
i've seen a few posts. they should be arriving your mailboxes any minute now. PLEASE TELL ME WHEN YOU GET THEM!!!!!!!!
look!!!
remember all those THINGS YOU SENT ME?
there they are.
we are going to burn them come spring.
fuck all that shit.
...............
other weird news:
i just found out the record is in the TOP 40....in austria.
i think this is very funny given that they are the most death-obsessed country i'm pals with.
thanks, austria.
and in that dept, one of germany's biggest music-radio stations, radio eins, made THERE WILL BE NO INTERMISSION the album of the week.
and my old bitter-man-patriarchy enemies at the NME gave my album a legit, critically sound 4-star review. there are still some people out there boycotting and blacklisting the record and it gives me a special kind of fire to hold in front of me like a flaming sword as i march off into battle-tour.
it begins here. i leave my house at ass o'clock to head to albany airport to head to DETROIT and then i fly to toronto, then to montreal. from montreal i fly to boston to do this weird poetry gig (if you want free tickets, go see this tweet).
i'll see a lot of you there.
i'm so ready and not ready at the same time.
i'm not sure i'm going to be able to sign after these upcoming shows this weekend, but i'm gonna do my best. if you're at the show and there's no signing, make sure to check patreon...if i do anything under the radar at a nearby bar, etc, you'll be the ones to find out via patreon post (make sure you turn your email notifications on to get an email when i make a new post).
ALL THE TOUR DATES ARE BELOW!!!!
please spread the word, the halls are huge, the shows need help, ESPECIALLY ATLANTA AND NASHVILLE, which are GARGANTUAN 3k seat venues. they're selling okay, in the realm of 1k tickets, but i could use all the help i can get to get the word out down there.
the tour, in general, is selling REALLY WELL.
as i've said before, a lot of these venues were reaches for me, so that i could maximize my time on the road and with ash and not play multiple nights in smaller venues.
i've gone through the shows and given you a little roadmap to what needs help below, if you wanna help signal boost.
a secret: both london shows are selling VERY FAST even though they are so far away (dec 5 & 6). if they both sell out soon we may be able to add a few more london shows, but no guarantees.
portland show #2 is selling super fast as well. the venue only fits 900 people. get tickets ASAP, i won't add a third show there.

we're still looking for a few items to help us with the stage set up, mainly, we need lamps for the first few shows, area rugs and motorized disco balls for almost all shows on the north american run of shows.

A NOTE ABOUT PHOTO POLICY ON THIS TOUR!
if you know me, you know i usually have a 100% open media/photo policy. but because these shows on this tour are so seated and quiet at times, i’m doing things a little differently with photos this time. i’m allowing a select few photographers each night, and they’ll be allowed to photograph specific songs. cellphone camera photos are always okay, but professional cameras will need press credentials. if you want to photograph, reach out to: management@amandapalmer.net with your outlet credentials and portfolio and we will set you up with a photo pass if we can.
...
see you soon my loves.
