dear ones

i love you all. i got home late last night from sxsw and slept hard. 

i did five podcasts, six shows, and who knows how many interviews and dinners and meetings and other weird-ass things, including our first flash library read-in.....there was no intermission.

i'll compile a blog with photos once i surface, but today is godamm OFF OFF OFF. 

i'm going to finally spend a whole day cuddling & reading to my neglected child, who, for the past 5 days, really only saw me as a shadowy figure running in and out of our austin air bnb looking like a blur of my former self carrying a bag of THERE WILL BE NO INTERMISSION vinyls and books and a taped-together ukulele case.

and then christchurch happened. 

oh my god, my friends. this world.

i have a history with christchurch...i've toured there many times, solo and with the dolls. a lot of my art and busking community has moved through there. i've done ninja gigs in the parks. 

i know you, christchurch. 

the pain is unfathomable. i just can't picture it.

if you're out there, reading this, we are all here, with our arms open. 

this world. i swear.

not just that it's possible - that things like this are POSSIBLE - but that it's....normalizing. 

and the trending news on twitter right now is about harry potter and #sundaymotivation.

the death toll is 51. it's hard to understand, it's hard to fathom...it's hard to put it all together, how we are doing such a terrible job at taking care of one another right now in this world.
