HELLO LOVES....

this is what it looks like: a VOTE for the tour poster i'm gonna print and sell on the road at the merch booth this spring.

NOTE- this is an update to a previous post that went out a few moments ago, i needed to fix the numbers of the images in the poll options. the previous post had an option to vote for an image that didn't exist below in the pictures of the options (full disclosure, it was a beautiful photo but won't work for the poster. SO THIS IS THE REAL POLL! TAKE 2!)

even if you don't read the rest of this post or listen to my voice ramble - PLEASE VOTE FOR ONLY ONE IMAGE! ONE VOTE PER PATRON!

i'm flying from city to city in jet airplanes on this tour....which means we don't have a tour bus and a trailer to stack loads and loads of merch options in.

so we get to bring ONE poster on tour and that's that. i ran the idea by the team of maybe using some of the cover-inspired artwork that's come in, but they all talked me out of it.

so these are, i think, the best of the options. all the photos are by kahn & selesnick except #5 and #8, which are by allan amato.

1) flying baby

2) hilltop machete

3) all the things

4) album cover

5) letting go

6) holding on

7) sunset

it's hard to pick, right?

i know i couldn't.

they all say different things, these images.

but the point here is to pick the image you'd put on a wall, not just the one you like looking at on a little screen.

these posters will probably be small-to-medium sized...a little big bigger than a record album, not massive. printed on beautiful heavy fancy paper. frameable. i'll sign them.

if the vote is SUPER CLOSE we can always print one for online sale in the web store.

so.....VOTE! you get to vote ONCE. CHOOSE WISELY. all my tour merch designs have to be submitted by monday in order to be printed in time so this poll closes on sunday evening at 11:59pm new york time

.........

ok.

here is this morning's Voice Ramble.

YES, that's what i've decided to call them. they're Voice Rambles, because that's what they are...not written rambles, and not BlogCasts (eech) and not VoiceLighteningMagicSwords...

they are Voice Rambles. THEY CAN ATTACK YOU AT ANY TIME OF DAY OR NIGHT.

anyway here's this morning's. since this post includes a poll, i am just using soundcloud and i'm still toying with how to make you all happy...some of you love the in-apps, some of you had problems with it stopping and losing your place....so for now, this is it:

....also, in wonderful news...your Merch Queen alex knight, who also has moonlighting talents as a transcriber, has taken up the task of TRANSCRIBING THEM for those of you with hearing issues who wanted to get in on the action!!!

if you want to read the transcript of this voice ramble, and the full archive of voice rambles, CLICK HERE

......

quick note!!! SAVE SOME DATES.

there's TONS of specific info coming soon....but march 7th, evening local time, we are gonna help you all organize a WORLD-WIDE LISTENING PARTY for THERE WILL BE NO INTERMISSION. save that night. think about if you wanna host a party. think about where and who you'd invite. we're gonna arm you with music and love and stuff.

AND, for the lucky fucking locals....i'm going to be throwing three listening parties OF MY OWN, for patrons only....

-the eve of march 5th (at THE NEW YORK PUBLIC FUCKING LIBRARY!!!!!!)....

-march 6th i'll be throwing a SLEEPOVER PARTY (not kidding) in upstate new york, close to my house, in catskill, and

-march 9th i'll be throwing a little candle-lit party in BOSTON at my apartment. it's gonna be so fucking good. these parties will only fit a few dozen people and it's first-come first-served, patron-only goodness. save the dates and hold for more details about when those go on sale (they'll be cheap but space is EXTREMELY limited). special thanks to mike at audiolab in cambridge, he's going to loan us some hot shit speakers for this, i can't wait.

stay tuned. if you know you want to bring friends, they have to be patrons, so giddyup, get them on here. we will be checking IDs and patronage status for anyone who nabs tickets.

...................

neil isn't making it home for valentine's day....but we had a fabulous fucking time last night...my costume designer (who i talk about in the voice ramble) andrea spent the night and we made crafty valentine's cards for ash's whole pre-school class...and ash donned lipstick "like mama" and kissed them all.

there's a lot of love in the house today.

and wherever you are, i'm sending you some extra love, in case you need it.

xx

Sunset just seems to transcend the others.

I love letting go. 💕💕🥰

All are beautiful, especially Sunset, but Flying Baby is the one. It lovely. That's the only word for it. Lovely.

Anonymous

In case that wasn't clear, that's one vote for Flying Baby.

On a different subject, Amanda, won't you please break down and add Dallas TX to your tour? Don't let any avroison to Texas keep you away. Not that you have, one, I'm just saying that some of us trapped in this god-forsaken state really want to come see you.

Anonymous

I picked Sunset, it was a close(ish) call between that and Letting Go though.

Anonymous

Not sure if I did that right. I ticked one box and was looking for some sort of enter button... so just ticking the box has done it then? (did not realise and tried to change it after.... was a little undecided!) It looks like we know what your poster will be anyway :)

Anonymous

Holding on because it’s so hard to let go.

Rats! My favorite isn't in the lead. But it really REALLY is really REALLY hard to choose!

Amy Tobol

I don't know why, but Letting Go, when I saw it, I started to bawl, I don't know why. I'm not voting for it, because I don't want to bawl every time I walk by it. It's like Amanda is listening to every little story our sad trinkets had to tell, she CAN hear them, and she tells them, it's ok to feel that way about letting go, about being let go. It's sad, but I understand, I hear you. I'm here. I'm here.

7. Sunset

So happy 7 was the consensus as I'm WAY freaking behind on email and essentially miss voting/reading everything till weeks later. Mind you, I am exaggerating at the moment as I only missed this by a day. But still.

Ok. Now I know what the listening parties are. I'm making a movie that day. Hopefully we will be wrapped for me to listen. If I can find one here. Do you have fans in Louisiana?
