Weekend Update 06/30/24 (Patreon)

Quick note before I get into the update: I'm going to be changing how I do daily updates so that they're substantially more structured. From now on I will be making a very quick "What I plan to do today" post when I start working and then when I'm done I will post what I ended up accomplishing. I've had terrible consistency with sticking to making the updates for a long time and I'm hoping the change will fix it. The issue I'm having as I've mentioned before is that I don't like sharing when I make something when I'm not happy with my progress and I've gotten far too used to being able to avoid making an update. I think making a post before I start working will be something easier to make and give me a direction to follow later in the day.

This week I attempted to make a retopoligized head for Golden Fredrika, fixed a small bug, and readded the "continue" button to the end of night screen.

Golden Fredrika's head and hair have proven a sore spot for me, I was able to retopo the hair but I'm not super thrilled with the final result. I was hoping to fix some lingering issues during the retopology, but the back in particular is bothering me. It's possible I've just looked at it too long and I'm just sick of it, but I actually think she looks better bald. I've put the retopologized hair in the toy box along with a bald version of her for you to compare, if you can please let me know what you think: should I try with an entirely new hair style, should I attempt to fix the one in game, does it look fine as it is, or does she look fine bald?

I also readded the functionality to continue from the "night end" screen. This is actually part of a bigger project that I'm hoping to do behind the scenes that will change how nights are loaded and stored. Right now there's a recurring design flaw that results in things from a previous night carrying over to a second night, there have been some bandaid fixes over the years to make sure those thing get reset but it's still not a great system.
