You know, whenever you have to say you don't feel something is a spoiler it's because it's a spoiler.

"What happened to Tobey Maguire?" He was like 20 years and 10 Spiderman reboots ago. Every couple of years some hollywood exec snaps his finger and goes "We should retell the story of how Peter Parker becomes Spiderman!!" and then gives himself a raise.

It is called "setting expectations". And it is the most insidious form of spoiler. If she has read your post, then she knows to expect that what you wrote will be happening. I just don't see how that is not obvious to you.

She's still on the Gene Wilder autobiography. Probably be a while before she gets to the Civil War storyline in Marvel comics.

I've seen other people attempting to explain the Spider-Man thing. It's complicated, yet easy: There were two Spider-Man movie series created that were not part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Yes, they are Marvel, but they are not part of the MCU. There are many other movies that came from Marvel source material, long before the MCU that are also not part of it : the Blade movies, a Howard the Duck movie. All of the X-Men (including Deadpool) and Fantastic Four movies. All based on Marvel comics, but none of them were part of the MCU. The MCU officially started in 2008 with "Ironman". The easiest way to tell a Marvel-based movie from an MCU movie is that the MCU movies will have a "Marvel Studios" title card or production credit, or, you can just go to Wikipedia (or other sources) and look at an list of official MCU titles and their release order. These older Spider-Man movies exist outside of the MCU and have no bearing on any of the MCU movies you have seen so far. They are different adaptations, so you see different things - such as age differences or how Tobey's Spider-Man had natural, organic web shooters but Tom Holland has mechanical ones. That said, there are some very valid reasons (that we should not go into) why you should watch the older Spider-Man movies. That is why so many people keep asking you to hurry up and watch those movies now. In this case, just trust your fans to not be misleading you or wasting your time.

Re: Spider-Man and Tobey Maguire. Back in the day, Marvel comics was on the verge of bankruptcy and one of the things they did was license out the rights to some of their more popular characters for films. Spider-Man ended up with Sony. Sony's first attempt at making a Spider-Man picture that actually made it to theaters was the 2002 Tobey Maguire picture. Then there were two more films. After the third one wasn't well-received, they rebooted and made two pictures with Andrew Garfield. Those also didn't do great, so Sony ended up going to Marvel and cutting a deal that Marvel would help them make Spider-Man films, and could use Spider-Man in Marvel movies. They cast Tom Holland as Spider-Man, and he became the Spider-Man of the MCU. Meanwhile, because they had the rights to Spider-Man, Sony also had the rights to a bunch of other Spider-Man characters, which is why we got the Venom films, Morbius, and the just-announced El Muerto, and also why we got the animated Into the Spider-Verse.

Ashleigh ever respond to messages on here, I wonder? I know she's super-busy, though. :-(

She does read them. Many are brought up during live unboxing videos. The live chat is well handled, and she gets to a lot of questions, messages, etc.

"Paprikash" is an Eastern European dish made with paprika.

Yes Steve could have kept up fighting. You'll literally have to put down Steve before he stops fighting for what he believes in. And to protect Bucky, Steve will fight full force. That's super inspiring. Yeah he was tired. But that isn't about to stop him. That's why he's so damn amazing.

SPOILER ALERT - you should try writing this next time,

During the helicopter part in the theater my boyfriend looked over at me because he knew I'd be a hot mess lol. Anyways, Chris Evans actually hurt his forearm in that scene. Also the part where Tony says "I'm going to sit here so you have to move the leg" was an improv because he was supposed to sit there in the script but Tom put his leg in the way and wasn't moving lol. On a side note when Bucky said "I remember all of them" it's because he lives with the pain of what he did everyday.

More importantly for me, he was General Ross in "The Incredible Hulk"... his passing makes it less likely we'd ever get a Red Hulk story line. I was hoping his in-universe health issues, which they pointed out in multiple movies, were leading to Ross becoming Red Hulk.

She does read comments, but thru the grapevine I heard she doesn't read MCU comments because people can't not spoil things

Paprikash is a recipe. She was not saying Paprika.

SOOOO much fun watching with you Ash! This one is one of my least favourite of the MCU films (which is only to say less awesome than others but still very awesome) due to too much “they don’t communicate because of the need to advance the plot in unlikely directions” (and although it has some of my favourite scenes from the MCU in it) but watching it with you was an absolute hoot with how invested and excited you are while watching these movies. Going thru some bad anxiety/depression having been out of work for over a year due to COVID impacts on my area and your channel, particularly youR MCU reactions are always total spirit lifters for me. Just thinking you might want to record the MCU reactions more frequently (even if you still want to release one a month) if you can as there are so many threads weaving through the movies that remembering scenes and characters from past movies becomes difficult (like how it took you quite a while to remember who Peggy’s Neice was after she gave the eulogy at the funeral).
