Woot woo! One of my favorites 😁

My hubby will be mad if I don't wait to watch this with him.

Mark Finley

I get so excited about every one of your MCU entries. There are still 2 or three movies ahead that aren't amazing, (just decent) but other than those, they just keep getting better and better

Anonymous

I love the mcu

Anonymous

This is a great movie, every movie in the mcu made me dig deeper into the lore. There is so much to know that makes the movies even better. Please watch the boondock saints next. My favorite movie, i think you will really like it.

Manuel Johnen

*terrible screeching sound from hell* "My husband has arrived..."

Brett Delbridge

Nah I think you’ve watched it in the right order...

Anonymous

If you have watched Game of Thrones you would know that familiar looking blond (Natalue Dormer) as Queen Margaery Tyrell. The guy sitting next to Stan Lee is Reb Brown who played Captain America in a couple of cheesy 70s TV movies. As far as all of your outstanding questions....patience. All will be answered in time.

Brett Delbridge

And that (square) teseract was from Thor. It’s not the same element Tony made

Definitely one of my favorite MCU movies. Cap is also my favorite Avenger because he honestly reminds me of all of the good stuff America is supposed to stand for, like freedom and democracy and protecting the weak and so on. You're going to love the first Avengers movie because there's lots of humor and a few things are better explained, but don't be surprised if several of the next MCU movies after that get a little dark -- it's hard being a superhero, apparently. I really think you're going to get a kick out of the Guardians of the Galaxy when they enter the MCU and the third Thor movie (Ragnarok) because they're hilarious and provide some lightearted relief from the Avengers and Captain America sequels. What I love about Captain America: The First Avenger is that it sets you up to look at Steve for moral guidance because, above all else, he IS a good man and he'll do the right thing even when it's not easy, even when it's painful. He's probably the truest hero of all of the superheroes in the MCU, and Chris Evans plays him so well.

Release order is the correct one. Some folks want to watch it in chronological order but then you miss the import set ups and call backs. This movie is basically an extended flashback to get the backstory to the tesseract/Odin's cube as you called it. There's a lot of Indiana Jones in this movie but the Red Skull even calls out Indiana Jones in the beginning of the movie. "And the Fuhrer digs for trinkets in the desert" referencing the ark of the covenant and the holy grail.

You may not realize from my PFP but I am really looking forward to this movie.... Release order is way better for first time viewers. Way less confusing, way more satisfying. You won't want to stick to once a month or member picks soon enough. lol

Anonymous

That being said Steve Rogers does have his flaws. In the sense of he doesn't listen to the other side

Ali D

Release order is definitely the way to go! I LOVE that you’re loving these.

Anonymous

Odin’s cube thingie = the Tesseract (from Thor!) You will definitely see that again and learn MUCH more about it. Can’t wait for you to get to the Guardians of the Galaxy & Thor Ragnarok (Antman too) as they are the funniest MCU installments imo. But Cap will always be my favorite Avenger ❤️

Eric Janssen

“Got mah Captain America t-shirt on!” - Uh, hate to say it, but “Cap-shirters” is comic fans’ current derogatory term for fangirls who claim to be new “Marvel fans” after watching Chris Evans and Chris Hemsworth movies despite never having read a print comic in their lives, won’t stop talking about when Marvel’s going to make the Black Widow movie (or that one with all the—well, wait for “Endgame”), and burn you at the stake if you say fans hated Captain Marvel. But in your case…it’s a GOOD thing! 😁

Elisa H.

If anyone keeps saying you should watch in Chronological order please just ignore that. The first time one watches it should be in release date order otherwise there are times when end credit scenes won't line up to make sense. So know that you are doing it right. Now in like 5 years when you're done and you want to re-watch then you can do chronological order

Adolfo Acosta

Before the MCU, Captain America was probably my least favorite. After Avengers Endgame, he became my favorite (after Spider-Man).

Anonymous

that's because the director Joe Johnston was a key member at ILM during Star Wars and Indiana Jones during that era. Being an artist for the company before transitioning to directing. He is basically shouting out his old projects and colleagues with that line. He agreed to this movie due to his love of the WWII era as well.

Nicholas & Heather

"Is he a god like Thor" yes, ... in a future ex-husband kind of way.

David Crabtree

Watch in release order! Otherwise you're going to come across spoilers and other things that make no sense.

iamrman82

The Captain America movies are some of my favourite movies in the entire MCU. Thankfully, they get even better as they go along. Just wait until you see the second one. Whoof!

Anonymous

After you watch the second Avengers movie, you need to have a brief reaction to the Saturday Night Live version of the Black Widow movie.

Anonymous

I see we're going to have to get you on some Tommy Lee Jones movies.

Mr Marvelous

You'll love this one

Eric Janssen

Wait, she HASN'T seen Men in Black? Have to dig out the spreadsheet.

Eric Janssen

Or another SNL sketch to find out why Garrett Morris makes a cameo in the "Ant-Man" movie.

Tony Hart

In the comics, it's known as The Cosmic Cube, but in the MCU it's known as the Tesseract.

Tyler Foster

I have literally never heard anyone say that, and who cares anyway -- they should absolutely claim to be Marvel fans, because the movies are undoubtedly a part of Marvel that Marvel cares about and represents their brand and their work. I doubt Stan Lee would've sniffed at anyone in his con circuit days before he passed that had only come to love these characters through the movies, and nobody else ought to either. I mean, to just pick one obvious reason: do you think this kind of attitude is going to convince anyone to jump into the comics? In general, I try to find common ground with people in these comment sections, even when I disagree, but there's just nothing good to say about gatekeeping. Honestly, if you think about it, isn't gatekeeping in direct opposition to the spirit of first-time reaction videos? Saying someone can't call themselves a fan even though they only have a basic understanding of something would be like someone telling Ashleigh or another reactor that they can't call themselves movie fans until they'd seen a certain amount of them.

Robert Reichle

Like so many others are saying: release order is the only way to go. Same reason no one should ever watch the Star Wars movies out of order if it's their first time. SPOILERS and things that don't make sense would be all over the place. I find it interesting to watch them that way now that I've seen them all a hundred times, but first time through - it's an idiotic idea that people need to stop pushing on people. They are only thinking of themselves, not the person seeing it for the first time.

Tyler Foster

Also, while you have gotten antsy during credits sequences before, many of these movies have fun closing credits sequences. This is one of them.

Avengers 1978....

People disintegrating ? . . . Yeah, that becomes a thing lol Someone needs to pick Mallrats before Ashleigh gets to Captain Marvel.

Anonymous

Jojo Rabbit Midnight Run Train To Busan

Anonymous

Doing them in the order of release is the right way to do it because then characters who will appear later get introduced. Otherwise, you have questions that would have been answered had you watched them in the release order. Red Skull got super soldier strength, but because he was the beta tester, he was deformed by it.

Anonymous

Ashleigh: We've been trying to contact you about your ship's extended warranty. OMFG!!! LMAO!!! That was hilarious!!!

Charles Edwards

Ok, no one answered your question regarding the Hulk and such. So every time you see something like the Hulk and Abomination, their origin stories come from the U.S. government trying to recreate the super-soldier serum that Dr. Erskin came up with. In fact, in both the comics and the MCU, they used serum created directly from Cap’s blood, but could never quite figure it out. The closest was Blonsky before he became Abomination. Red Skull became his namesake because he insisted on taking the serum before it was ready, as Erskin told Cap the night before his procedure. This caused him to become incredibly strong, but deformed…much like the Hulk or Abimination, again. Keep watching through all the movies and shows, I promise you, there’s more connections to this in places you wouldn’t necessarily expect.

Anonymous

Agreed - Also the world building makes more sense in release order.

Anonymous

TV Series - The Good Place. Only 4 seasons, every single episode is solid.

Midge

After you watch Thor: Ragnarok, I suggest checking out Jojo Rabbit (2019).

Michael Haymore

Definitely need to have The Rocketeer on the list!

Jenkin Male

I would love for you to react to The Crow and City Slickers.

If she ever does vintage TV I hope she does the Bixby/Ferrigno "Incredible Hulk"...I'm betting she'd like it
