Has Nat ever watched 12 years a slave? Cause Solomon Northup wrote that there were good slave owners. You didn't appreciate them until you went to the really bad ones. The movie is heartbreaking so i dont know if she would handle it too well. But it is wonderfully acted.

The blood on Leo's hand was real. He accidentally cut his hand but decided to stay in character and incorporate it into the scene

Nico Piel

Bro, "good" just means they didn't kill their slaves willy-nilly. No human being who "owns" another human can be good.

Daniel Vezina

3rd times the charm, maybe I won't fall asleep before the end this time.

Richard Maurer

Sure, this movie is such a slow burn, how does anybody get through it........s/

Quinton Tarantino was the guy toward the end who exploded with the dynamite in his hand xD

Richard Maurer

It's just a matter of degrees, all slave owners were bad, but some were a lot worse than others. The idea that a slave could consider a slave owner good because they didn't brutalize them is heartbreaking.

Thomas Richter

I love how he's got a cavity on the tooth

Foxyguava

"the flowers!" ummm... it's cotton lol

You should watch the hateful 8, it’s another great tarentino film, very similar in its western style to this movie

Daniel Vezina

So, I guess Spartacus is out...

Daniel Vezina

Yeah, nothing fucking happened all the second act, it's where I usually fall asleep.

Cripkie

django sounds like a french name....but maybe im being obtuse.

Jason Gillman

He doesn’t rub real blood on Kerry Washington’s face though, that’s fake blood shot later.

Cripkie

i dont get it, i thought i did for a sec but i was wrong.

Thoko

I think he is quoting Pirates of the Carribean for some reason

Cripkie

yeah i got that for a sec, but i lost his point....maybe he is just insane.

collegeguy6377

One of my favorites of all time!

Natasha

I got a really weird response when thanking you for acknowledging BHM on YouTube so I came here to do it instead! lol Thanks for actually saying it bc not many creators do

After the first Mandingo fight, when Django is smoking at the bar, the man Django interacts with about his name is Franco Nero, he played the title role in the old spaghetti western Django (1966), which this movie is influenced from. He’s also wearing bright white gloves, which I believe is a reference to that film in which Django has his hands broken and wrapped in bandages lol

Thoko

I tried watching that movie but found it boring and gave up after half an hour

James Zagame

They were only good to the slaves because of circumstance, clearly no slave owner is good by virtue of being a slave owner.
