Well, you've achieved something that no other person has achieved: convincing me to watch this movie a second time, after watching just the once in 2007.

Niklas

I can't believe I hated this movie when it came out. Now it's one helluva fun time.

Darryl Low

Yay, our friendly neighbourhood Nat is back with more Spidey. Hope you had a good weekend. This movie is kinda messy but in a fun way. I think this may be the first superhero movie you've watched where you were rooting for the villains at some moments 😂 Your voice was getting higher and higher at the appearance of Emo Pete, it was so funny 😄 and "Bernard, ya done fucked up!" 😂 Better late than never. Thanks for an awesome Marvel Monday Nat 💛

Randee Carreno

Happy Monday, Natalie! 😊 I'm downloading this right now to watch tonight. It's been awhile since I've seen this one. I do remember parts of it. Looking forward to watching this reaction later this evening. Have a great day today! 😊 Until the next video, Stay Golden! 💛

Hey Nat I was wondering if you’d consider putting Season 1 of Daredevil on a future poll. It’s not a huge necessity but it’d be cool to watch it before you watch Spider-Man NWH

Navjot Singh

You should react to Bully Maguire videos on your other channel. They are superfun.

Joe Blankenship

Can't wait. This one is bananas.

Shoko

omg i recently watched one and two and i was sooo stoked for three!! u made my day!

Brandon Zepf

So excited to watch this reaction when I have time (and energy)!

john collins

"I love doin it outside" -Nat

Anonymous

I’m curious to see your reaction. This movie is my least favorite of all Spider-Man movies. But I still love it

Tay Schumaker

I'm not sure people do accept them as both good movies and really cheesy and campy. The people I've talked to that say, consider Spider-man 2 to be the best superhero movie ever, push back pretty hard if you call it cheesy or campy

Tay Schumaker

Also enjoy how this movie goes out of its way to retroactively make the first movie worse

Dan Careaga

This reaction....? *Creepy Franco Voice* "Sooo Good...." lol. This movie is hilarious. Thanks for another great reaction!

Darren Penuliar

Careful around those YouTube recs! I got NWH spoiled by them. I’d start flagging them now if I were you

Inhuman Paradox

I mean, SM2 is still less campy than most MCU films. There's more drama and sincerity to it (Even if the drama itself is kinda hammy, which I'd argue is a good thing for a Comic Book Film). It's less overtly self-aware and quippy than the MCU, which is something a lot of us miss. We miss that sincerity. The MCU, while less of a stylized campiness, is campier because it's more self-aware and seems to not really be trying to always be dramatically engaging. Like compare SM2 to FFH. FFH has less "cheesy" transitions than SM2 sure, but it's also more overtly comedic in the script and has less drama. So what's really the cheesier film? The one with more drama presented in a big, hammy way? Or the one with less drama presented in a more self-aware less hammy way?

Jon Hoover

I've never heard anybody describe Spiderman 2 as cheesy. I don't understand that. It's amazing and almost perfect, but not cheesy. Three I just describe as bad, personally.

Sean

I'm hyped for the dance sequence. It's by far the best dance sequence in a Spider-man film.

Shoko

there are two deaths in history that i will never be able to deal with. one is harry, the other one is finnick. if you know, you know

The whole Venom storyline was forced in by the studio as one of the higher ups had a massive thing for the character, as such we got a terrible version of it in this movie. Im not a huge fan of the stand alone Venom movies but they do a much better job of showing what an interesting character it is. They are probably worth watching, if only for the references.

Ben Wheeler

If a movie knows what it is and leans gleefully into that, cheesy can be great! I love Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy, but I also smile anytime I see the Adam West Batman show or movie.

Mike LL

Great reaction, Nat. A hot mess indeed. Now you know why there was never a Sam Raimi directed Toby starring Spider-Man 4. And in worldwide box office it even outdid the two previous films. But it was such a creative embarrassment that they went in another direction with Andrew Garfield. And even though you say you have seen his first movie, I;m looking forward to the re-watch and am well aware that the second movie will be special treat to have you react to.

Brian Leonard

Definitely watch the two Venom movies before No Way Home.

Peter Yocum

She calls out the Maker's Mark product placement, but how much is Mylanta paying her?!

Steve J

"If that happened to me... ...I'd still get them a table, I guess" LOL

Anonymous

My biggest problem with this movie is how awful both Peter and MJ are. I’d argue he wasn’t being that bad at all before he got the symbiote, just oblivious. The villains, for as many as there are, are all enjoyable in my opinion. And to answer your question, Venom retained so many Spider-Man characteristics because it attached to Peter first. That’s why Eddie could stick to walls and shoot web. I would personally recommend watching the two Venom films before No Way Home.

Anonymous

Oh yeah, and you should rewatch the opening of Spider-Verse now that you’ve seen this. It’ll be much funnier now.

Kieron Hayes

Congratulations on making it through the utter train-wreck that is Spider-Man 3!

JediLounger

I think this might be the most “Comic Book” comic book movie ever made. It’s so goofy and silly when trying to be serious and dramatic. I feel like I am reading Spider-Man books from the era where every sentence ended in a exclamation point whenever I watch it.

Jason Dolan

Fun fact: Bernard is Bill Paxton's dad. He wrote Sam Raimi a letter asking if he could audition for A SIMPLE PLAN and Sam gave him the part. Even Bill Paxton didn't know until he showed up on set... Dad, what are you doing here? Acting, Bill! Sam Raimi loved Bill Paxton's dad so much he put him in other movies, including all 3 Spider-Man films. How awesome is that?

Jason Dolan

Jekyll & Hyde was the original metaphor for alcoholism

Steve J

The Venom movies are definitely WAY different tone than this venom character. As in Venom is an actual character vs generic black goo monster.

Anonymous

Now you can react to funny videos of "Bully Maguire". I also suggest watching the videos of "How should it have ended" where they point out the illogical plot point of these movies.

panacamanana

At the time of release, there was a lot of negativity towards this movie. So the love he hows today, is younger audiences who grew up with it, and bringing in the love. Similar to the Star Wars Prequels.

Anonymous

Venom wasn't supposed to appear in this movie. But the studio pushed the director to include him because he is one of the main antagonist of Spiderman in the comics. The fans didn't like Venom's portrayal. It is better represented in Venom's movies. However SP 3 was a Box office success but it was a messy movie but was all over the place. SP 3 wasn't supposed to be the ending of Spider-man movies, there was a 4th one on pre production. But the studio also intervened to push more villains together. This time Sam Raimi didn't accept and most of the actors support him. The project was cancelled and then Sony rebooted Spiderman movies with Andrew Garfield's Amazing Spiderman.

Anonymous

As they would probably were planning more movies for Tobey's Spider-man they probably decided to split apart MJ and Peter. I didn't like them either in this movie. I think they both act like jerks, specially Peter. For me it was a regression of their characters just for the sake of splitting them apart. Dialogue was bad as well. Specially Peter's not explaining Harry what really happened with his dad and asking forgiveness.

Jason Dolan

I think it would be fun for you to watch both VENOM movies before you watch SPIDER-MAN NO WAY HOME :)

Anonymous

Please, spare yourself from watching both Venom movies for real. It's 2000's cheesiness in 2020's with chilidish humour and horrible plots. After X Men Apocalypse and Dark Phoenix, don't make yourself suffer through 2 horrible Venom movies. Watch both Andrew Garfield's movies. They're a bit iffy, but definitely better than Venom.

NFXx

I think I may have accidentally deleted my first comment when I was editing it, since it’s no longer here. Luckily I had half of it saved, other half I explained the origin of Venom so maybe someone else will or if you have the time you could look it up. Yeah I still like and enjoy this one even though it’s not as great the previous two films. Their relationship in this film is one of the big problems fans had with, was just bad writing on their part. Not just them but most of the film overall. Venom wasn’t originally in the script, higher ups wanted him in so that’s why there’s so many villains. Studio interference is the other problem done to the movie. But yeah I still like SP3 overall. Also surprised you didn’t notice flash at the funeral and also Bruce Campbell. He was the wrestling announcer in the first film, the usher in the 2nd and the waiter. He’s a friend of Sam Raimi.

Anonymous

you should watch Venom 1 and 2 before no way home

NFXx

Also since it’s kinda important, No Way Home will be streaming on STARS and it won’t be till months from now, 6 months is what it was said. So you might have to rent it whenever it’s released. I don’t remember if you had to rent the other two, thought I remember you just streaming it. Also would be careful of watching anything Spider-Man related on YouTube since it may spoil No Way Home for you. Accidentally seeing any footage, thumbnail for a video or reading comments.

Sean

I'm honestly happy Venom (the sludge) confused the hell out of you. The character got such poor treatment in this movie. In the comics, Venom does come from space but it hitches a ride on John Jamieson's (JJ's son, the astronaut from the second movie) shuttle and then finds its way to Peter. When Peter finally rejects it, Venom is like a jilted lover and pairs up with Eddie who also hates Peter. And Venom copies Spider-man's powers after being bound together for so long. If Harry had been the main villain and Venom introduced, it would have been better. Sandman really didn't need to be here and takes time away from developing the rest of the plot.

Tayyib Majumder

This movie is such a mess I wish they ignored Venom as planned but there is still some good moments

Joe Blankenship

Honestly, I don't know how she can watch anything on Youtube without a giant spoiler.

Myles Away

That cop was going straight for the kill with that shovel. Hands over head about to plunge it into the person below the surface? Seems a bit extreme.

Anonymous

This Venom wasn't the best adaption. The best screen adaption of Venom I've seen was in the 90s Spider-Man cartoon. However, nothing comes close to the comics.

calum1

Venom is originally supposed to be from another planet and crash lands on earth. You should watch both venom and Andrew Garfield Spiderman before No Way Home they’re pretty important in the timeline for the future.

Anonymous

All three of the Raimi Spidey movies are incredibly cheesy. You have to be especially nostalgic to not see that. You can love these films while still acknowledging that their cheesy.

Anonymous

I thought she hasn't seen any of TASM or TASM2? I thought she had only seen Spider-Man 2002.

Ben Wheeler

The 9 minute version of the James Brown song is 100% in my Spotify playlist

Kevin

not sure if you put it together(haven't finished the video) but that's Venom that peter and brock were wearing

Guillermo Antonio Ricci Alvarez

Venom is from space, and he copies and enhances abilities...this Spiderman has his own spiderweb but in the comics when Venom adheres to Peter he starts creating his own spiderweb similar to what he did on Eddy Brock giving him the same abilities from Spiderman(even the spider sense). Now the Venom movies are as of now on a universe where Spiderman doesn't exist which created some backlash but at least explain some other things about Venom and has a small connection with the MCU universe...really small connection

Mr. Nobody

Not your best reaction, but nobody's perfect.

Kevin

You should definitely watch Venom. I'm a bit biased because I think the Amazing Spiderman movies are kinda really bad... at least story-wise.

djKENTO

I know you don’t like revisiting movies on this channel, but after seeing the original Raimi Trilogy I think you should rewatch Into the Spider-Verse, because I genuinely believe the schlubby Peter B. Parker we get is a response to Tobey’s Peter Parker. I don’t believe this version of Peter and MJ stay together. I have always seen the last moments of Spider-Man 3 as a sad goodbye. I just can’t see them lasting, working through their issues… and as we know from Into the Spider-Verse, that version of Peter B Parker has TONS of issues, mostly resolving around communication and fear when it comes to MJ. Also there are just tons of references to these movies in that film, and in the same way it’s better to watch all the X-Men movies before Deadpool, it’s best to see all the Spider-Man films before into the Spider-Verse. Anyway. Loved the reaction. Can’t wait to see what’s next.

Mike LL

Very good points. And Venom comes from space because in the comics, Spider-Man acquired the black Venom costume, er symbiote, on an adventure in outer space. And Flint Marko, the CGIman, I mean the Sandman, striped shirt is how he was depicted in the original comics Steve Ditko drew for Marvel way back in the 1960's.

Byron

Quick summary: Spidey was in a cross-over comic in space and his costume got tore up, so he got one out of a cosmic vending machine (more or less), and it was a living costume and all was great until he discovered it was taking his body out for joyrides at night. He eventually got help removing it, but because he spurned it, it hated Peter. It ended up bonding with Brock and turning him into Venom, an antihero who wants to kill Spider-Man/Peter but otherwise generally wants to help people. The Venom films disassociate the creature from Spider-Man.

Mike LL

I think you may be remembering Venom hitching a ride on John Jameson's shuttle from the Venom episodes of the 90's Spider-Man animated series, because in the comics, Spider-Man acquired the symbiote costume on the Battle Planet during the Secret Wars storyline.

Jon Hoover

I stopped watching Venom halfway through. I thought it was horrible.

Jon Hoover

We need to introduce Nat to Bruce Campbell. I'm pretty sure she doesn't know that the ring announcer, the usher, and the maitre d are all the same person.

Joe Blankenship

It's a shame the studio forced them to put Venom in this movie. He's so popular from the comics, they didn't do the character good service in this. You should definitely watch Venom after Amazing Spider-Man 2. But it's not really connected to any of the other movies. You could watch it right now if you wanted.

Gary

Hey Nat! Okay, so far to date NO-ONE has gotten the origin story of Venom correct. Even the new movies got it wrong. If you want to know how he really came to be, you need to read the 1984 Marvel Comics 12 issue mini series called "THE SECRET WARS" there you will find the actual origin of the black suit symbiote that binds with Peter. Also, it was Reed Richards of the fantastic Four who figured out how to free Peter from the Black suit/Venom

Anonymous

Whoa ok. I guess the version she's watching is the director's cut. I was getting out of sync, and then she got a scene I didn't have. That sucks, I don't have the directors cut..

Thomas Richter

I don't like sandman. It's course and rough and irritating, and it gets everywhere.

Anonymous

This is so weird. So there is an Editor's Cut. I own the orginal on Movies Anywhere. Because of that, I can pull it up on Amazon as well. Even though it is labeled Spider-man 3, with no edits, when you play it, it is. So you don't have to rent the Editor's Cut, that is the Same movie. I haven't seen this version.

Frank Rosales

Nat is going to love the Venom movies and can watch them whenever

Connor Ellis

Peter was fully into himself, his ego got boosted big time by the symbiote.

Anonymous

Any chance of watching the terminator movies?

Keith Jacobsen

Mary Jane's making out with Peter, making out with Harry, making out with Bernard (probably)...

Anonymous

By far the one I've seen the least, but man was it a fun watch with Nat! Made it way more enjoyable.

warcrimes

This movie is terrible.

Kevin Bartelen

Sam Rami really didn't want to use Venom, but the studio made him so Peter probably would have been a jerk without the symbiote if Rami had been allowed to make this movie his own way.

Skizane

I don't know if I'm allowed to say something positive about this film, but I remember when I first saw it I thought that it was really tragic to see what a sweet, genuine person Harry was when he couldn't remember his hatred and grief, and to know there was a ticking clock measuring when it would all come back and everything would be destroyed all over again. And seeing how Peter had scarred Harry's face and eye was a real emotional punch to the gut. I think they should have spent a bit more time on what a significant thing that was, or at least, as Nat pointed out, have Peter apologize, show some remorse. He didn't say one word about it. You can get away with that, if you show it some other way. I think he should have cried when he saw what he had done, even if he still only talked about helping MJ. You can convey regret and shame that way, without speaking about it directly. Have him cry at the sight of Harry's disfigured face knowing he was the one who did that to him while he chokes out the lines about helping MJ. So the crying becomes subtext which would be more poignant anyway. Cry about what isn't being said but what is clearly the elephant in the room.

Kieron Hayes

Totally agree. I get why some are pushing for the Venom movies, but personally I can't stand them.

Anonymous

Venom and Venom let there be Carnage, after The Amazing Spider-Man movies

Jenny Tolls

You were ragging on him really hard about being a shitty boyfriend and yeah deserved it but we also gotta keep in mind that this man has like never even kissed a girl let alone be in a relationship with one. He's never had any experience so that's why he was so dumb with her especially in the beginning with all that theater stuff.

Kalle-Tapani Isomaa

If this is your first time of hearing about Bully Maguire you haven't even scratched the surface of ytp and memes.

Anonymous

Honestly I think this is probably the ONE movie I've ever seen that legitimately deserves all of the criticism it got. From what I recall, most of the bad decisions came from producers/execs that wanted everything they could think of in the movie and the director sort of had no power over it? Either way, the movie is worth watching solely for the experience of being baffled every 10 minutes by how such insane ideas got greenlit at every turn and how they managed to make pretty much every single character completely unlikable. I feel bad for all of the actors (except for Tobey, who allegedly has a...not so great reputation)

JarHead0351

at that time, this was a good set of Spider Man movies, wrong. To me they just gotten better and can't wait until the Newest Spider Man come to disc so I can add it to my online library- I would ask to add Blade movies & I am Sam (feel good movie) & Almost Famous (based on the life of writer and director Cameron Crowe) & Open Range (good western)

Erik Stevenson

Literally zero reason to do that unless she just wants to or runs out of other content to react to.

Erik Stevenson

Tricking his lab partner into kissing him, in front of his fiance is pretty bad, bruh

Erik Stevenson

"Hey Peter guess what, that time your actions accidentally lead to a man falling to his death, he actually didn't kill your uncle, or even (intentionally) steal his car, FYI." Terrible.

Nicholas Sulikowski

Regarding Harry's Goblin outfit. Why wear a mask? Wind and bugs. Also, they're called Pumpkin Bombs. /nerd Really fun and great reaction otherwise. Also, at some point, you're gonna wanna familiarize yourself with Bruce Campbell. He was the guy that played the ring announcer in 1, the rude usher in 2, and the "French" waiter in 3. The director of these films Sam Raimi also directed a trilogy of horror films called Evil Dead back in the 80s and 90s, which starred Bruce Campbell as the main character Ash. (These films gradually shift from pure horror to horror comedy.) And very frequently, Raimi likes to have Bruce Campbell do cameo roles in a lot of films that he's done, not just Spider-Man. His brother Ted Raimi also tends to make cameos in his films. (He was Hoffman, the bespectacled guy that J Jonah Jameson likes to bully, and who came up with the name Doctor Octopus.) The whole operating room scene in Spider-Man 2 was also a huge visual nod to the Evil Dead films. There's also a TV show called Ash vs. Evil Dead which is an official continuation of the film continuity. And a remake from 2013 that is part of its own universe. The originals are The Evil Dead, Evil Dead II, Army of Darkness, and Ash vs. Evil Dead.

Lucifer Moon

sorry I keep making suggestions but this one is timely since you seem to be trying watch all the older more positively received Marvel films that predate the MCU and so I strongly suggest The Punisher ( 2004 ) be added to a poll sometime LOL, Thank you for your time.

Lorenzo Baxter

Peter couldn't have magically known about MJ being fired so he hadn't done anything wrong yet besides not consoling her. Making poor decisions doesn't make you a bad person. Peter has always been a good person, maybe not a good boyfriend, but thats not how the world works. It's what is in him and he is a good man. He simply fell victim to pride and got too self centered. Then life kicked him in the balls with the Symbiote and Sandman. And yes you do start with self forgiveness. Groveling is petty. Start by making amends. MJ can forgive him when she wants to. He needs to forgive himself first. Otherwise, he will wallow in self hatred forever and won't make any kind of progress towards healing his relationship with MJ.

Lucifer Moon

there are a few origins for Venom, the most relevant to this film was that venom was supposed to be brought to Earth from space by JJ's son and spidy comes in contact with the ooze while saving JJ's son from the shuttle crash after the mission in space.

Anonymous

"This man is so Extra!" The maitre d immediately straps a chainsaw to his replace his arm and saves Natalie from Deadites.

Anonymous

Yeah, this movie is as bad as I remembered. Such a mess XD

Josh Wilson

Watching the Venom movies would be good. Eddie Brock always becomes Venom and always hates Peter because Peter rejected the symbiote. This is very common in Venom's origin stories. Couple other key things to know about Venom. After the Venom symbiote is on Spider-Man it gains the abilities of Spider-Man including the web shooting as well and probably the most important Spider-Mans Spidy Sense doesnt work with Venom. Would def suggest watching The Amazing Spider-Man movies(which looks to be happening based on the poll) but also the Venom movies.

Anonymous

Seeing you react to the musical scene made my day. I had the exact same “wtf is this?” face when I saw it in theaters. Still makes me laugh 😆

Jundae

It may be because I was like 8 when I first saw this movie in theaters, but I love the cheesiness and how it's kinda like a Silver Age comic with the wacky stories and dialogue. I rewatch this trilogy at least once a year and always love it. My only gripe about this movie was Venom. They could've introduced Eddie as a character and then in a 4th movie brought the symbiote into it and made it the main villain. Too bad Sony was pushing Raimi to cram these characters in leading to this and no fourth movie despite how much it made. But if that happened there may have been no Andrew as Spidey so I'm conflicted lol.

ButtyOh

Its been years since I've seen this film. Growing up i used to love the scene in the climax where Pete and Hobgoblin tag team to rescue the falling MJ

SuicuneSol

THIS MOVIE! I wasn't in the mood to watch it again, but your reaction was worth every second. Every single conflict was due to total lack of communication. MJ did not tell Peter she was fired. Peter did not tell MJ he had a black Spider-Suit affecting his personality. Peter did not tell Harry the truth about his father. MJ did not tell Peter that she broke up with him because Harry told her to. Flint did not tell Peter the truth about his Uncle's murder until the end. Bernard did not tell Harry the truth of his father either, until the end. So many conflicts could have been solved by an honest conversation over a cup of tea.

Nat!!! Please do a reaction to the full bully McGuire family feud meme!!!!!!

Ken - Kendo161

I kind a thought you'd be in tears at the end of this film not laughing, guess your character arc has come full circle. lol Loved JK Simmons as J. Jonah Jameson. as a kid I was really into the animated Spiderman TV series( 1967 created by Stan lee& Steve Ditko). https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x2l5th3 skip to 8:30for J Jonah Jamison then tell me how you think Simminons did. 😉😁 Simmons was really born for the role he nailed the Jamison character Oh and by the way you need to see predators, 2010, Topher Grace really good role. Adrian Brody great cast. Good surprise ending. thanks Nat. for good entertainment.

Thomas Yanez

Wow, this was so painful to watch. I remembered that we had the Emo Parker, but I must have blocked out just how atrocious it all really was Even more horrible that they played it like he was actually cool and that the women really liked him. Just so awful.

Richard Ryan

Spiderman: Into the Spiderverse likes throwing shade on Bully. :)

Edward Of DOOM

She said she ran a poll back in December, which was before everyone knew how good Arcane really was.. Wish she would rerun a new poll with Arcane on it.
