I am going to thoroughly enjoy this one.

Happy Friday Nat. Loving your new intros 😊 Tissues in hand. My drink today was iced vanilla latte, and my snack was shepherd's pie, as I was having my dinner 😄 Not seen this movie since it came out, and it was a real emotional watch with you today Nat. The performances are just so good. This one goes above and beyond a comic book movie, and takes it to another level. Seeing you tearing up again in your outro just shows how much you've been invested in these characters. Thanks for another incredible video today Nat, and as always, thanks for all your amazing work this week. Have a great weekend Nat 💛

Niklas

"I saw you die, holding your own heart in your hand."

Andrew Dickinson

Best X Men movie...the trailer alone was bad enough..

Jason Gillman

Guess I should have set an alarm, Google Drive is saying nope EDIT: Logging into Google seems to have fixed it.

Ben Wheeler

Days of Future Past is Blade Runner dystopian, this is Mad Max dystopian :D

Randee Carreno

Happy Friday, Natalie! 😊 Downloading this right now so that I can watch it later tonight. I've been waiting for this one. This is the only other X-Men movie that I've seen aside from "Days of Future Past". I'll definitely have tissues ready for the end when I watch this reaction this evening. Have a great day & weekend! 😊 Stay Golden! 💛

Dante

This is my favorite movie in the X-Men franchise. Absolutely blew me away when I first saw it in theatres. So excited to revisit this one with you Nat!

Ian

Happy Friday nat hope you're having a wonderful week being Friday I don't have the time to watch today so have to save it for tomorrow but I'm looking forward to it 👍 have a great weekend and until next week stay golden 💛

i think my biggest unpopular opinion is that i like himym's last season, not the ending, but that season makes me really emotional, i just pretend that the last two episodes don't exist, but yeah the reboot thing annoys me too

pedantech

No snacks. Just water. I like this movie so much I'm not even playing a game while I watch along.

Anonymous

this movie actually owes a bit to Deadpool for existing, cause Deadpool kinda showed that you can make R rated movies and still get a lot of money in the box offices

My Toasty Toast

Not the thumbnail I was expecting 😂

AV

Thanks so much for all your great reactions Natalie, cant wait to watch this one!

Anonymous

Today my snack is oreos and I'm drinking pepsi... I probably need to come up with healthier snacks xD Super excited to watch this reaction, haven't watched the movie in a long time.

Keith Jones

Just started the movie for my lunch break. Turkey wrap on lavash with hummus and spring mix with a LaCroix. To keep my Kentucky cred going, having Pork Rinds with it :p

Nic Benham

Here we are. The moment we’ve all been waiting for 🙂

Foxyguava

The HIMYM tangent/rant at the beginning was sooooo great

Foxyguava

Oh and snacking on some trail mix... the kind with the chocolate covered blueberries

Kevin Mowery

Yeah, saw the thumbnail and thought, "That expression isn't gonna last."

Anonymous

Hoooo boy

Matt Gwinn

Best X-men movie by far. Are you going to watch The New Mutants?

Anonymous

Finally!!!!!!!!!!

Zeliodes

THANK YOU! I was SO annoyed about that last season and had not heard of this new HIMYF series and am more annoyed because it made me think about the last season of HIMYM. P.S. Since you asked while I was typing this what we were drinking/snacking on... I'm drinking a gatorade (blue) and snacking on a couple nature valley bars (fruit & berry mix)

Mike Adams

"Hey Natt did a HIMYM review, go see her Logan reaction to see it!"

Jason Dolan

I just woke up and was like, I don't have anything to do this afternoon so my drink is COFFEE

pedantech

"Charles used to feel everyone with Cerebro." Interesting movie concept, Natalie!

Boomcity

Yukio in "The Wolverine" - "I saw you die, holding your own heart in your hand." He was holding Laura's hand.

MrBluesky

Don't look up, pleased

Anonymous

I started watching Logan again a few weeks again & stopped halfway through knowing this was coming at some point.

Anonymous

And Deadpool owes a bit to wolverine for existing because they wanted to do a proper Deadpool to make up for what they did in the wolverine origin movie.

Anonymous

Been waiting for this one! BTW am snacking on Vietnamese spring rolls and a bowl of ramen while watching this :)

Kevin Bartelen

You actually can watch these on Disney+ if you live in Canada or use a VPN to pretend you do.

sammi

If anyone needs help syncing the reaction to the movie you can try out this browser extention: https://www.casper.live/. My recommended offset is 394.5.

ISeeTrees ofGreen

i ordered a big meal from outback steakhouse lmao to watch this

Adam Grunther

I absolutely adore this film. It is not just my favorite X-Men, Marvel, or comic book movie. It is my favorite movie period.

Ben

Spoiler for the ending of this movie: In the movie The Wolverine, Yukio says with her power she saw Logan die with his heart in his hands, he's holding Laura in his hands as he dies here.

Jenny Tolls

I ate three full chocolate bars in one sitting and I feel sick as hell and my left arm is numb and freaking me out. So no Natalie, I will no longer be grabbing a snack when you ask us to.

Anonymous

This film will always have an impact on me! I remember having the VHS of X-Men playing all the time when I was young. So to grow up with Hugh as this character and for this movie to come out and finish his run combined with Stewart also doing the same? So many tears were shed, and will be every time I revisit it.

Brian E

Yea its the future-2029. It was an XMEN comic on the nightstand in the hotel with wolverine on the cover, not the guy with the metal arm, which is awesome. Yea the adamantium is poison. His healing powers are getting burnt out by constantly having to keep him alive from heavy metal poisoning (and obviously all the other trauma). If he never got the adamantium he could have lived for probably hundreds of years. As it is he is like 200, last 56 years with the adamantium on his skeleton.

Ryan

After 17 years we finally got a real Wolverine movie, very violent and very sad and it was such a great ending to the X-Men franchise, the first cinematic universe. It’s a perfect send off for Hugh and Sir Patrick and I’m glad they made no more X-Men movies after this, it was the right call.

Brian E

Same, haven't seen the movie since the first time i watched it. Was nice to revisit

Michael Ford III

And I don't think anyone else mentioned this, but DEADPOOL 2 should be next.

Anonymous

A note about the Statue of Liberty line, when Charles tells Logan there's a young mutant "waiting for you at the Statue of Liberty," Logan thinks that he's confused and thinking of when Rogue was at the Statue of Liberty in the first X-Men movie, which is why he says "that was a long time ago," but Charles is actually seeing the sign outside the Liberty Motel where Laura is staying.

Calo Grsf

Hi Nat and thanks for this new awesome emotional reaction! You're so sensitive, empathic to the characters and funny at the same time, it's always a great and nice cosy moment to have 😄🤗 This movie is so great and well done, great acting (I loved Steward and Jackman performances), action scenes, etc For me, it's the perfect "superhero" films and my favourite from the X-Men franchise. "Deadpool" is funny and nice one or two times but not so much for me, contrary to "Logan". Concerning my snacks and drinks, I ate crisps and drank a "Lindemans Kriek" (a Belgian soft beer made with sour cherries) And I agree, you should do a sponsorship for tissues, would be the perfect one 😆 On that note, I hope you're fine, take care, be safe and stay golden! 💛

Philippe Dessaints

Hugh's acting is so god damn good. Also, vegetables, iced tea and gatorade !

Nathan Elkin

This movie is one of the few experiences I know will always make me cry. It is my favorite Xmen movie. It is my favorite superhero movie. And it is one of my favorite movies of all time. You should check out the show His Dark Materials. It stars the actress who plays Laura in this movie, and she is actually super talented and has a lot of range. Plays a British girl in that show.

Jomero

Such a great swan song for Hugh Jackman and Patrick Stewart's characters. I seem to recall that Patrick Stewart had said he was done playing Xavier, but when he heard that this would also be Hugh Jackman's last portrayal of Wolverine that he immediately agreed to do the movie for him.

Anonymous

The exact quote is: "I see you on your back. There's blood everywhere. You're holding your own heart on your hand." It's beautiful.

Anonymous

I was anticipating this reaction, and I'm so glad you enjoyed it like the rest of us. Such a brilliant performance from everyone involved. Such a shame that the awards shows snub anything to do with superheroes, because Hugh Jackman deserved awards for his performance in this. Just incredible. Oh and this is 100% my favourite X-men movie.

Brian Jones

Most of the questions you had throughout the reaction are answered subtly on the radio and such in the background throughout the film. As someone else mentioned, during the beginning of the film you here a radio broadcast that tells you the year (2029), and after the Casino incident there's another that explains a bit more of what happened in the Westchester incident. It implies that due to Charles there were 600 injured and several mutants killed including several of the X-Men. It was a nice touch to just lace that in, and it makes Charles's story so much more tragic. Also why Logan doesn't go into detail earlier in the film regarding what happened to everyone when Charles asks. And as many others have stated, in the previous Wolverine film, also directed by James Mangold, Yukio predicted he would die holding his heart in his hand. The inference being that Laura was his heart. Another subtle nod to that film is the Samurai Sword that was hanging next to his bed earlier in the movie. Just a brilliant film, and yet another reminder of just how dramatic comic book films can actually be if you get a great set of talent behind them. Also the use of Johnny Cash music both in the trailer for this film, and during the end credits, is a nice nod to a previous film James Mangold directed about the singer/songwriter (Walk the Line). Another excellent film I highly recommend if you haven't seen it. Great reaction as always, I'm glad you enjoyed it. Stay golden.

Finally got patreon setup... Can't wait for Deadpool 2,, and thank you for caring more about video quality than monetizing

Danishprince

I'm gonna say something that will probably get me lynched: I never found Logan that particularly good.. IT was fine but imo really forgetable. I haven't seen it since it came out and remember 1 thing from the entire movie.. Gonna be interesting to see if the reaction is gonna add something to the movie for me :)

Anonymous

Logan gets pissed off when he reads the business card because it says "Alkali-Transigen". Alkali Lake was the location of Stryker's facility where the adamantium was bonded to Logan's skeleton. He read that card and instantly knew that it was a continuation of the Weapon X program, that they were still experimenting on mutants, and that his past had returned to haunt him yet again.

Florian Hoyer

its one of the movies where u can miss alot by just not listening to a single word they were 2029 (it was said in beginning of movie in radio) new york ... that as just x-men 1 nothing right now the comic cover was wolverine in his classic outfit

Douglas Baker

Drink and snack today: toast with PB & spicy honey. Drink: coffee, french pressed, black.

Anonymous

Damn, I forgot Richard E. Grant was in this movie. You may remember him from Loki, where he played the old version of Loki in the Void.

john collins

I really love his line at the very end "so this is what it feels like" because you don't know if he's talking about dying or loving his daughter.

Petteri Ahlberg

This is going to be a perfect evening. Got my weed ready, pepperoni pizza on the way...Some Nat and Logan to keep me company. And, here we go...

Myles Away

This one still makes me weep when I watch it. It has so many heartbreaking and moving moments elevated by fantastic performances. This film is an A+

Florian Hoyer

charles accidently killed most the x men with his seisure, it was told in the radio where u heared the first part and not the 2nd it seems also the enden in the comics wasnt a 4th wall break, it was showing logan that eden doesnt exist and it was all a made up story from a comic book

Anonymous

Wanting something that hits you in the feels. I would suggest trying "After Life" by Ricky Gervais. It may also hit that spot. It is fairly sweary though.

Michael Cruse

This one really hits you in the feels, doesn't it? It's definitely my favorite of the X-movies, and in my top 3 superhero movies. Coupla fill-in-the-blanks for you. When Charles talked about the Statue of Liberty being a long time ago, he was referring to the fight against Magneto in the first X-Men movie. The reason Logan is falling apart is because adamantium is extremely toxic - the only way he's survived this long is because he keeps healing from the damage it does (that's why they can't just put it in every superhero), but he just can't keep up anymore. Not sure if you figured it out from the clues, but "the Westchester Incident" is why there are no more X-Men - Charles had his first seizure and there was no injection handy to stop it, and so everyone but Logan died. :( As a character, Logan works well when paired with a young female character (originally Kitty in the comics, and Rogue in the early movies). They help him keep anchored to his humanity, and he gets to be Cool Murder Uncle, which is handy in a dangerous world. (Logan gave Kitty her first cigar; he arranged for the Juggernaut to trample her first boyfriend when he dumped her; he killed the sorcerer ninja trying to steal her soul, etc). But Laura doesn't need that - she needs a father, and that's way more than he is ready to be. I thought Jackman did a great job of playing that role - rejecting her again and again, and then finally letting her in at the end, and realizing how good that felt. Anywho, glad you enjoyed. Wish I could say the remaining movies are just as good, but, yeah, no. They do have their moments though, and Deadpool 2 is pretty funny, so I'll be looking forward to watching them with you.

Lee Gannon

There is a black and white version of the film called Logan Noir. The character of Caliban also appears in X-Men Apocalypse played by a different actor.

Ilsuk Yang

So, the Statue of Liberty event that Wolverine mistakenly believes "Chuck" is talking about is the final battle in the first X-Men movie with Rogue stuck to that radiation machine that will turn normal humans into mutants. Also, Logan is dying due to adamantium poisoning (I think someone else mentioned this in the comments, too) as well as that souped-up corn syrup they talk about in the movie (which is why there hasn't been a new mutant since 2004). So, Logan's healing factor is constantly overtaxed fighting off these two conditions, which is why he's aged so much by the beginning of this movie. And, yes, this is my favorite X-Men movie. Like you, I do love Deadpool, but Logan just hits you in a different way! Anyways, enjoyed your reaction as always, Nat!

Endling_king

man i dont know about watching this movie after enjoying some weed. i feel this would be to much of a downer for me. I watched the new matrix movie after taking some edibles and that turned into a crazy experience

Endling_king

like others have mentioned Logan is sick because of the adamantium in his body. his healing factor has been fighting off the poison (think of it as an extreme case of lead poisoning) and its taking its toll over time. I have seen some theories that say that if it wasnt for the adamantium constantly taxing his healing factor that he would have turned more animalistic like his brother Sabertooth. until he was more animal then man. but the constant need for healing from the adamantium kept that from happening. you should look up the comics that show what Logan looks like when Magneto removed the adamantium from his body in the comics. man he looked rough. the one thing i dont undersand why they did it was why did they cover Laura's claws in adamantium so young. that basically prevents them from growing as she does and would leave here as an adult with tiny little baby claws.

Daniel Restaro

Logan in my opinion was a good film, but it was just..so bleak.

Joe Blankenship

I'm glad we finally got a realistic movie with Wolverine. No more burying his claws in somebody's chest and pulling out clean, bloodless blades.

Anonymous

I wrote a giant thing and Patreon deleted it before I finished typing... Super happy I got to watch this for the first time with you... skipping the dozens of points I was gonna write

Balkyne

I'm so glad you loved this film Nat, I've been so looking forward to this one. What a genuinely beautiful film. The end always makes me cry like a baby honestly, and I've watched it at least 4 times.

Papi Dillion

i just got home from work and saw this so this is the first thing im doing is watching with you, with a homeade chicken snack wrap (chicken tender, cheese, ranch, wrapped in tortilla) and a budlight :)

LJ Mickey

Don't worry Natalie, we all cried. Such a great ending to Hugh Jackman as Wolverine. This is hands down in my top 5 for comic book movies. Mix of road movie, a superhero movie and a western. Perfect ending for a perfect character.

Essero Eson

You should get your own Stay Golden brand of tissues so we can all get our tissues from your store.

Edward Of DOOM

Shepard's Pie, Monster Energy + Canada Dry mixed, Popcorn, and a Heath Klondike Bar. Total Natalie cry time: 27 minutes. Need to find something to top that. EDIT: BTW I never teared up at this movie until I watched it with you. "OH! GOD! OH! GOD! WHY IS HIS STORY SO TRAGIC...!" I personally felt like this was meant to be an "End of an era" movie, which is why I suggested you should watch Dark Phoenix first. That, and where it falls in the timeline. Was a great reaction though, I really felt it when you shouted at the screen. There was real emotion there, not just autonomous responses. Oscar-worthy! I had to stop and re-sync your reaction twice because Hulu decided to throw in two 2-minute commercials during the stream, which is stupid since I have a Hulu subscription. Well worth the reaction you gave though!

Anonymous

i think this movie doesn't really need a lot of context from other x men movies to be great, and i love hugh so this was a great time for me, also, unrelated note: your hair looks better and better every day MY GOD

Shen V

Okay, the amount of attempts you needed for an outro is a huge endorsement for the movie. That was so interesting to watch. I do sometimes feel bad that we're basically "making you cry" for our "entertainment". I hope you mostly enjoy sharing our little nerd universes with us. Actually, you might have been the only one of us who cried at X-Men Apocalypse. That one was totally not our fault. But this one is. It's just a little astonishing, but very refreshing, that one of them silly X-Men movies can lead to a film like this that feels a lot more real. I've never seen Dark Phoenix. We'll see that one together for the first time. I wonder if YOU, despite the movie, are gonna make me tear up. :D

Kris Webb

The only thing that disappointed me about this movie is that Logan never actually said he was Laura's father,

Anonymous

I’ve been waiting for this one. My personal favorite from the whole x men franchise.

Kate Herzig

Oh, this is 100% the best X-Men movie. Yes, Deadpool is great and fun and genuinely well done, but this is on a different level. BUT we did need those 17 years of content to make this as impactful as it was. It's why it's so emotional, we know so much about Charles and Logan. While this movie would be great without all that history, it's the history that makes it outstanding. Side note: I'm so glad someone else had the same reaction to the armpit stab I did. I've seen this movie like 10 times and it's the one violent act that turns my stomach. There's just something so icky about something going through your armpit and out of your shoulder. Makes my skin crawl. 🤢

Ben Wheeler

I just realized you've already seen Richard E. Grant (evil Dr. Rice) as Classic Loki on the Disney+ Loki show :) When he was falling asleep while driving and she told him to rest was the first time it really got to me. Like Logan finally gets to do so forever at the end.

Xenic Mark

Dafne Keen is really good. Hope you see His Dark Materials sometime. Also if you want more R Rated super hero movies Joker is pretty good. Not really a super hero movie but it's set in Batman's Gotham so I suppose it counts

Eric Bogerd

Oh my god, didn't think I would cry more this time than any of the other times I've watched this movie. I blame you! j/k Seriously, every time I watch this movie I cross all my fingers and toes and PRAY that The Last of Us on HBO is even in the ballpark for quality and acting. I'm worried that after this epic masterpiece and after waiting for so long, it won't live up to the game, but I still have hope.

Leaf on the Wind

FOR THE LOVE OF YAHWEH, DO NOT WATCH "DARK PHOENIX." It is horrible trash that no one wants to see or re-see. It will be guaranteed be the least watched video on your channel.

Timothy O'Hara

HIMYM is my all time favorite show I love it so so much, but I do not plan on watching how I met your father because they're ruining what made the original series amazing.

Ben Violette

Logan is one of my favorite superhero films of all time. Up there with Spider-Man Into the Spider-verse. Deadpool 2 is also great. I actually like it more than the first. Rise of the Phoenix is a film in the X-men movie franchise.

Anonymous

I'm really happy you watched this, it's one of the best superhero movies ever made. Professor X's story reminds me so much of what I went through with my dad back then, so it always hits me a little closer to home.

Myles Away

One of the major reasons I did not like Disney buying Fox was losing the chance for films like this. Logan was made because Fox was making a hail mary play out of desperation. They had nothing to lose. They were swinging for the fences with some rated R comic book films. They gave James Mangold a slightly smaller budget and a lot more freedom. That equation is what allowed something as brilliant as this to be made. You won't see Disney green light something like this. Maybe .... maaayyybe ... in 20 years when they need to get some money out of their old investment.

Jayson Phillips

Great movie!! Can't wait to see your reaction to New Mutants...has a tie in with Logan. And deadpool2

Anonymous

Logan is my favourite X-Men film and one of my favourite films, period (superhero or not). I cry every time I watch it. What makes it even more sad is the Hugh Jackman is no longer Wolverine too. Also if you remember in the previous Wolverine film the premonition where he dies holding his heart in his hand sort of rings true here. He dies with Laura holding his hand. Also before you watch Deadpool 2. What the Teaser https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I4tFNfROlqk There's no spoilers and there's couple brilliant references in there that you'll love guaranteed if you notice them.

Anonymous

This was very loosely based on a comic book series called Old Man Logan. I think it's the best superhero movie ever made. Stewart should have gotten an Academy award

Lorenzo Baxter

Wrong. His healing is gone because of the poison in the water and corn syrup. It was made to suppress the mutant gene. And in Logan, it nearly took away his healing completely

Anonymous

The Westchester incident where Charles X lost controll got mentioned on the radio when they where driving right after they made it away from the hotel where they got attacked and Charles froze and paralized everyone in the hotel. The radio mentioned there had been a similar incident they called the westchester incident injuring six hundred people, killing seven mutants including several of the X-men.

Lorenzo Baxter

He's talking about what Charles told him. Taking a moment to be happy with people you care about.

—thoughtstorms—Keith—

Nothing special on the snacks and drink - ramen noodles and Kroger Brand zero calorie cola. Logan is the best X-Men film. I read the comics back in the day John Byrne's run was beyond greatness. Much of that was mined for the films.... Somebody get Puffs© with Lotion to sponsor! Chapped eyelids is really a thing, and one you don't want!

Anonymous

Another great reaction. I've not revisited this since I saw it opening weekend. I'll spare my usual X-Movie rants. I got more worked up to your reactions than the movie itself. Maybe because I knew what was coming, but yeah. This one has a lot of really great performances and direction/photography etc. It is truly a beautiful film to watch. It stands out from all the other X-Movies. Deadpool 2 and New Mutants are good. I really can't wait to watch you watch Dark Phoenix, especially after how much you liked this one. I've also not watched that since theaters, and I only saw that cause a friend wanted to see how badly I would react to it in the theater. (According to him I cheered when Storm died in Days of Future Past, laughed when Colossus was ripped in half, and swore at the screen when Rogue was in that last scene.) As for snacks, I usually watch over dinner, so it varies. Cheez-Its, Nachos, or some sort of gummi candy when I get to actual snacks. And some variation of Mt Dew, or regular Dr Pepper and/or water for the drinks. And every now and then ice cream.

Connor Ellis

Yeah Logan's birth name was James Howlett

Connor Ellis

Please for the love of God end X-Men with this. Do not watch Dark Phoenix

PickettsChargingPort

One of the big downfalls of Disney purchasing Fox, at least to me, was we are unlikely to see her reprise this role as an older Laura Kinney. There was quite a bit of buzz about another movie with her. So far with this and His Dark Materials I've been nothing but impressed with her as an actor.

Guillermo Antonio Ricci Alvarez

The new HIMYM with Hilary Duff is not a reboot, is the same idea on the same universe with different cast...I saw the first two episodes and I liked what I saw

Inhuman Paradox

If she got through Apocalypse, she can get through DP. DP is bad, but it's still more entertaining than Apocalypse.

Anthony Campbell

In The Wolverine...Yukio said she saw Logan die with his heart in his hand..........he died holding Laura's hand.

Anonymous

The Johnny Cash song at the end is one of my favorites and really fits.

Anthony Campbell

Not sure if Nat realized that the Westchester incident was most of the X-Men dying from his first seizure

Anonymous

logan is the last x men movie i watched, anything after this i just couldnt be bothered man... x men started and ended with logan for me

Gabriel Lozano, WLC

My "drink and snack" are usually popcorn and pop! Nothing really exotic about my choices :D

Matthew Periolat

Movie night with Nat, my “drink and snack” is usually dinner. Chicken, rice, corn, Jello and water except for Fridays. Fridays is Steak n Shake steak burger, fries and a Diet Coke. My reward for a work week. The movie is outstanding, first time watch and I loved it. Honestly, we have not had a bad X-Men movie since First Class. Solid solid stuff from First Class to now. And it says something that Apocalypse and Logan have made Nat’s eyes leak so much. The writers and creators figured it out. Now, we got Deadpool 2, which I love. After that… I remember there was serious talk of Jackman getting an Oscar nom for this, but comic book movies still just have an unjustified bad rap to the Academy voters. More the pity, he and Stewart are so great here. Truth is, just tell a good story, people will watch and embrace and enjoy. I sure have. Onwards and until next time… Still Golden.

Al Baughman

Pepsi zero sugar & Hershey Kisses are my drink & snack

nataliegold

Ahh sorry! Patreon isn’t formatted the best sometimes and they randomly delete comments too sometimes :/

Thomas Richter

When there is a good movie like this to watch I wait until the end of the day and get take out and a soft drink. Today it was a massive burger and coke.

Keith Jacobsen

Glad you finally got to see this one Nat, it's considered one of the best if not THE best for a reason. You may be a little disappointed with Dark Phoenix, to be honest, but IMMEDIATELY restored by Deadpool 2, it's probably as good as the first one.

Anonymous

My drink and snack choice was a bottled water and a slice of banana bread. Glad to see that you enjoyed the film. Logan is not only my favorite X-Men film, it's my favorite comic book film. The original X-Men movie came out on my 18th birthday and introduced Hugh Jackman as my favorite comic book character. Watching him as Wolverine over the course of 17 years makes what happened in Logan so very powerful to me...I was wrecked the first time I saw it and it still gets to me with every re-watch. I was glad to see this film was the first comic book movie to be recognized by the Oscars in a writing category. It was nominated for Best Adapted Screenplay. James Mangold truly knocked it out of the park. Thank you for going on this X-Men journey and I hope you enjoy the next one

FatLittleButterfly

You should check out short videos on Hugh Jackman and Dafne Keen doing test screening and interviews. Logan is easily one of my favorites and they really did a great job! Kind of sad to think of it that they went through all that time travel to stop the sentinels from being created and stop the mutant hunt, but it turns out humans are still scared of what is different from ourselves.

Thomas Yanez

Snack : 10-piece McNuggets (sweet & sour, hot mustard) and a frozen Coke.

Kade (Sydney, AU)

If you can see rain on screen, it either has to be digital or a practical rig. Rain does not show up on film.

VK

I’m sure someone above commented on these items but I think we are led to believe Professor X accidentally kills the mutants or at least a lot of them during the first seizure (I may be wrong). Also, the adamantium is poisonous to the body, but wolverines healing abilities allows him to live with it. The adamantium poisoning slowly caught up to him. And lastly, the end credit scene from apocalypse, when they take a sample of Logan’s blood from the facility, leads to the creation of Laura.

VK

I agree with everyone on here, Logan is one of the best superhero movies. I lump it in with the likes of Dark Knight. Great, even as standalone movies. Doesn’t take away from the other marvel movies (endgame, infinity war, no way home, civil war, etc. were all amazing as well) just different styles.

Jesse Wilson

I was really looking forward to this one so i went big with nachos and ice cream lol. Hadn't seen this in a long time so i was really good to watch again.

Wu Sha Ling

Logan is an undeserved crown on a wildly inconsistent body of work that is X-men. And yes, you already know why TV and movie production companies retread old ideas and IP's: an established audience. More often a captive audience. Book adaptations have always been the easy money for decades, and many readers are compelled to watch the movie. The generation grown up on comics supplanted the bookreaders as the dominant consumer bloc. Book adaptations still are very common, but are much less profitable. with some exceptions: hunger games, twilight, 50 shades. And even here, you can see the generational shift.

You want more R-rated superhero content? Go check out the Blade trilogy. Or Kick-Ass. ...or Zack Snyder's Justice League. But definitely the Blade Trilogy - especially since they are about to revitalize the character in the MCU.

Richard Maurer

I for one do not want the main MCU movies to ever go the dark, gritty R-rated route. Not from any moral qualms though. The mainstream MCU films capture the spirit of the comics nicely - a R-rated Avengers or similar movie just wouldn't work. That being said I would still like them to do Deadpool/Logan/Marvel Netflix style MCU films and series with appropriate characters - which may be the case as the last I heard Deadpool 3 is supposed to be R-rated.

Or The Crow!! HOW did I forget to mention The Crow in this statement?? Go watch The Crow for R-rated comic book screen adaptations. Seriously!

Also, the fact they begin the movie living out in the desert and have those plans to buy a boat both imply moving Charles as far away from other people as possible so that when he has his seizures, the bodycount of whom he hurts will be minimal. It's another impacting detail to the narrative included in the subtlest of ways. (Amazing breakdown by the way, Brian. Scrolling through these comments from the top, your is the first I felt like engaging with).

Also the child with the electricity powers was holding an action figure of Wolverine in his classic outfit at the end while all the kids were surrounding Logan's burial.

Thanks Nat for you beautiful reaction. There's no ugly crying with you😁. I'm glad you liked so much. This movie has a special place in X-men fans' heart. It was so good that Patrick Stewart and Hugh Jackman say that it was a perfect closure for their characters. So I guess for the MCU we would only see cameos of them in reference to the multiverse. I hope to see most of the young X-Men entering the MCU, including Laura.

And now you see how the premonition of Logan dying with his heart in his hand from The Wolverine is a metaphor which comes true. 😥 I gotta say, the constant and consistent guessing what's gonna happen at the end of each scene involving deaths starts to get old after a while and constantly takes me out of the moment. I noticed it quite a bit in Spiderman, and now its prevalent again here. Sure it's obvious when someone's gonna die, but talking about it out loud rather than just mentally understanding it and seeing it's probably coming really removes the emotion for me and breaks the immersion of being in the moment in the film, and the feeling of being in tune with the reaction. Keyword REACT, not predict. It's like someone explaining or guessing the whole plot of a movie and recapping it before it's even started, only at a slower pace scene by scene, and you kind of just think, "what's the point of watching the movie now if I'm just gonna be told each scene like short bedtime stories right before they happen?". Feels like we're nibbling on movie Wikipedia summary paragraphs. Most movies are predictable, so there's really no point in predicting them in my opinion. Removes the fun of watching with someone for me. I just feel like this happens a lot more during reactions lately compared to when you first started reactions. Other than that, really enjoyed the reaction.

Favorite line in the whole movie (Nat might have missed during commentary): Bad shit happens to people I care about. And Laura has the wonderful come-back: Then I guess I'll be fine. Mic drop!

minuteforce

Loved this reaction so much, and I loved revisiting the film as well

panacamanana

I dont think Logan smashing up the truck was suppose to be funny… 😬

I love this movie! I have since I first watched it however many years ago. I was moved to tears at the end as well, around when you were. This movie hits me HARD!! I mean, Wolverine's been my top fave hero since always. Look at my name for crying out loud! xD Then to top it off, I've faced off with serious medical difficulties in life, things that have made me feel separate or different than everyone else. Reason being, I'm disabled and no longer can walk. As a boy I used a walker for mobility but that ended when I was 12 or so. That isn't important. As a kid, I dealt with recovery from multiple major surgeries, laying in bed just trying ti improve and feel better. Things that no kid should ever have to deal with. It was very difficult but I obviously made it through it all, As a kid, I got heavy into superheroes! DC and Marvel both! The X-Men always felt right to me, though. The way that the characters struggled for acceptance with the rest of the world, watching how they all were ostracized for being different. Seeing the anger and hate that many mutants had for humanity as a result.. but then there were The X-Men and Charles Xiaver. Charles has never been my favorite hero, though he was someone that I respected. I loved how he was treated despite being in a wheelchair and how respected he was for being what he was. Okay, I've ranted long enough for sure. Apologies for the long winded comment. Thank you SO MUCH for choosing to finally watch this movie! It's a big one for me.

Why would you ask her to watch a version that isn't available on Hulu?

Byron

Not only is this my favorite X Men movie, this is my favorite superhero film by a significant margin. It’s on a whole other level. I’m glad to have been able to watch it with you. I was sobbing right there with you.

Jorge Lopez

Got home from volunteering, and settled in to watch the movie with a coffee and an apple fritter from one of my favorite local coffee shops here in Chicago. :) Great way to enjoy this cold, Saturday afternoon.

..................................Deadpool 2 is right after Logan.............

JarHead0351

It was sad to see Logan die and with it the X-Men until the next movie

Skizane

Just saw Spider-Man No Way Home yesterday and it wrecked me, today I watched this for the second time and it got me a bit choked up in spots even though it was not my first viewing. Natalie crying kind of pulls it out of me, sympathy crying, I guess. Nat, if you go see the new Spider-Man it'll put you through the emotional wringer. Bring whatever you'll need to get through.

Dooly

She hasn’t seen the rest of the old ones yet, has she?

A Vicarious View

Such an amazing movie. And technically Deadpool 2 is next. It came out in 2018. Dark Phoenix came out in 2019. Please watch the Super-Duper Cut of Deadpool 2. It adds several new scenes for a new characters introduction that you don't get in the theatrical and even changes some dialogue.

lost the words... just loved watching this movie with you

Ok I joined the Patreon to watch this reaction :) couldn't wait

Now that you watched the movie I suggest you watch the trailer, is very good and moving. A little "spoilery", that's why in my opinion is best to watch it after :D

Would say for more dark and gritty stuff, something like watchmen is a good one. Deals with a lot and sticks close enough to the source (except the ending, that the tv series kept in which was a bit jarring). It’s good to get out the superhero genre into… “real” films and this is good segue back to other serious films.

JPOlsen

So brilliant to see Sir Pat Stew' go out in all his glory in this one. If you ever get the chance watch the interview him with Hugh Jack' & Sir Ian McK' on Graham Norton, shot right after this came out... it's a true pleasure for a fan of theirs.

Suggestion (not a superhero movie): when you'll get the Kleenex sponsorship you deserve, check out The Road (2009) with Viggo Mortensen. One of my favorite movies, and a dramatic one!

Anonymous

Nah it was funny! It's always a bit funny when someone trashes an inanimate object like that 😄

RebRox65

You’ve come along way Nat from the early day of your channel, your violence thrash hold has sufficiently increased to the point where severed heads taken off by a little girl doesn’t phase you so much now, I guess GOT will do that to you. So I apologise in advance but here’s my pitch for you to watch HIS DARK MATERIALS now, especially now you know the lead actor now, Dafne Keen Logan’s daughter she’s even better in this TV show and did I mention there’s spirit animals that talk! ….just watch the official trailer (no spoilers)

she says she wants gritty superhero movies, you guys think shes ready for the watchmen lol

Zack Wallace

I have been on a bit of healthy kick lately as well when it comes to my snacking. I only had water during the movie.

Michaela Talley

Sometimes I snack, sometimes full-on meals lol

I know I am late to the party for this one. Finally got around to watching this. Tears me up every time. I still want to see a new Wolverine movie with Daphne Keene returning as X23. She was great in this movie as well.

Cripkie

Im a bit of a traditionalist with movie snacks. Popcorn gives my brain the idea that im eating without really eating much of anything.

Nya

I remember when i watched this in the movie theater and my brother and i balled our eyes out. But we didnt want to miss anything so we didnt go and get tissues. That movie nearly killed us lol

Valentin torres

The real question is, was this movie worth going through ALL the X-men movies leading up to this for you??? It definitely was to me. This was a beautiful culmination of the story of Xavier and Logan. Definitely much more impactful after seeing the others

Mondo Spieler

Love the raw emotions in your reactions, both happy and sad.

I rarely cry while watching movies but every once in a while I come across a movie that breaks me. This is one of those movies

Sean Stuart

Finally watched my black and white version along with this tonight. Gives the film more grit and bleak look. Great reaction Nat. Yukio vision came true Logan ties with his heart in his hand.
