Hey guys!

Help me pick another movie to watch. I have a feeling I know which one will win, but let's see if I'm right...

The reason you don't see some classics like Forest Gump, Big and Castaway on here is because I've seen them (and adore them). I'd love to revisit them in the future, but wanted to watch something new for this time.

The Green Mile is perhaps the greatest Stephen King adaption in my opinion.

minuteforce

I love "Catch Me If You Can", ez pick

0lis

Thats a very difficult poll!! Catch, Apollo and Green please...

damonlfc

Decent options here I prefer catch me if you can and Apollo 13

Anonymous

I know it’s greedy but can you do both Green Mile a AND Catch Me If You Can? So good!

Anonymous

I do not have a pick yet. I'm gonna wait to see what everybody has to say and maybe pick an underdog to help it along.

Joe Blankenship

I'll vote for Catch Me if You Can if it means you'll sing a song from the musical. 😁

G. T. Blackwell

Philadelphia is fantastic movie but a bit of a rough watch. I did a breakdown of it from a legal perspective last year on The Not So Grand Jury.

Darryl Low

After enjoying watching Shawshank for the first time with you Nat, it just has to be The Green Mile. Another movie I haven't seen, but would love to watch on your channel. Enjoy your weekend Nat 💛

Anonymous

We gots to watch the green mile boss

Kingsley

Tom Hanks is a treasure.

Randee Carreno

Happy Saturday, Natalie!😊 All such fantastic Tom Hanks films. It was so difficult to choose. "The Green Mile" got my vote. Have a great day & weekend! 😊 Stay Golden! 💛

R.BGames37

All 4 of them are incredible.. but for now i pick "The Green Mile" and "Philadelphia"

Kevin M. Pitts

Philadelphia is easily my favorite performance of his. Really showcased his dramatic acting chops.

Anonymous

They’re all pretty good but Catch Me If You Can is by far my favorite.

Kris Olo

Cast Away

Anonymous

Catch me if you can is literally one of my top 10 favorite movies you have to watch it!

Anonymous

Have you seen The Terminal? I feel like it is an underrated, entertaining and feel good Hanks movie. Never seen anyone react to it.

Valar Dohaeris

How can I vote for the four of them?

Valar Dohaeris

She just watched Shawshank...

DarkJokester

The obvious choice here is The Green Mile. Hope that it wins..

JarHead0351

For me - Big or Da Vinci Code should of been on this list both are better than two of those on Natalle's list

Anonymous

I voted Apollo 13, but it and Green Mile were a tough coin flip. Liked Catch Me if you Can, but was a step below those two. Admittedly I haven't watched Philadelphia either.

Anonymous

Philadelphia is his best movie and while I don't think it will win I would highly recommend watching it at some point. Not just for the channel, even if you just happen to have free time

David Blake

Hi. Why not "The Da Vinci Code" and "Angels & Demons"?

Anonymous

Catch me if you can is also one of my faves, though it’s more of a Leo focused film to me…Green Mile is prob going to win. But a couple of my Hanks faves are League of their own, and The Burbs

LionBro

Not a Tom Hanks film, but Now You See Me is fun.

rhaegar

Here we go again with The Green Mile and the thinly veiled racist trope it perpetuates. It’ll obviously win.

Dcv50

Green Mile for sure but if you haven’t seen it, The Burbs is a hilarious, very under the radar, awesome Tom Hanks movie from the late 80’s before he got into more serious roles.

David of the North

I voted TGM but you really should watch Philadelphia Story. It's an important film.

Bryan Fritchie

Also good choices: The Terminal. Sully. Captain Phillips.

A Vicarious View

The Green Mile and Philadelphia are both amazing and make me sob every single time. Bring your tissues and I'll bring mine.

Anonymous

That thing you do!

Matthew Periolat

I voted Apollo 13 as it’s a favorite. Green Mile, I haven’t seen so interested for sure if (when) it wins.

Daniel Vezina

I was kind of hoping you would watch the other Kung-fu Panda movies. In my opinion the trilogy is as good as How to train a dragon

Anonymous

I voted Green Mile, but Apollo 13 and Catch Me if You Can are both incredible movies. Be sure to watch them both at some point if you haven't.

Robb Hollen

Haven't seen someone mention watching That Thing You Do!. Tom Hanks has a fairly involved cameo and it's his directorial debut.

Ryu Kobushi

Or “Road to Perdition”

PAKMan

If The Green Mile wins, be sure to have the tissues handy.

John Rando

Charlie Wilson’s War (with Julia Roberts, Emily Blunt, Amy Adams; & Aaron Sorkin wrote the screenplay)

Anonymous

Green Mile hands down, but Catch me if You Can is Godly, if not for that Fucking MASTERFUL score alone (John Williams we Fucking miss you :( ) and NEEDS to be reacted to.

Ian Forbes

Exactly what I did. Philadelphia was a moving and formative cinematic experience for me and the scene highlighting the Maria Callas song is hauntingly beautiful. I really hope Nat gets to it eventually but will cry right along with everyone else as we watch The Green Mile (also a great, great film) which seems to be unstoppable at this point.

Matt D

If you've never watched Road to Perdition (2002), you can see Tom Hanks play a gangster.

Matt D

Bridge of Spies (2015), directed by Spielberg, is also a good film.

Ken

Can you really go wrong with any Tom Hanks movie? It has been forever since I have seen The Green Mile so hopefully this wins.

Justin S.

Stand By Me, The Dead Zone, and Misery are among the best as well. Firestarter, although not well received, is actually quite close and accurate to the novel.

Justin S.

The Green Mile is in my top ten favorite films, so not surprised at the results thus far. Philadelphia is great as well. If you want an early Tom Hanks film, I recommend Splash. It was his first big role I believe.

Anonymous

I didn’t see anyone mentioning Cloud Atlas, but I genuinely love it, and would make for some great reaction content.

James Bartley

Green Mile is a really one

Tranquil_Gnome

Tom Hanks has done so many good motives that others have already mentioned that they are all good options. Hope we can eventually work through most of them. Maybe once a month do a Tom Hank film.

Anonymous

I don’t care which one wins. These are all must watch films.

Andrew Clifton

Dang these are all so amazing. When people ask me who my favorite actor/actress is I don't even need to think about it. Tom Hanks always has been and always will be. Green Mile is a masterpiece so gotta go with that. Catch me if you can is good too though and Leo is in my top 5 favorite actor/actress of all time. Christopher Walken is in that one too. Another Tom Hanks movie to consider for the future would be "The Terminal". It's right up your alley and Tom puts on a masterclass of acting in that one. Imma watch this later tonight or tomorrow as I am about to go run errands before UFC comes on later.

Bruce Bromley

Vkunia just posted her reaction to The Green Mile this morning. It broke her. I really don't want to see it do the same thing to you, Nat. Not yet anyway. :;-) So I pick Apollo 13, also a great film and an excellent account of the true story.

Ken Schneyer

This is a really hard choice, because these are all great films.

Ilsuk Yang

I chose The Green Mile, but, all of them! I would also add Castaway, Big, Forest Gump (I believe you might've said that you watched this at some point, but I still want you to react to it even if that's the case), Captain Phillips, Sully, The Terminal...I could go on and on!

Anonymous

Green Mile would my 2nd place choice with Catch Me If You Can as my 1st place. So few people have reacted to Catch Me If You Can on YouTube. And although I love Green Mile reactions there must be over a hundred of them on YouTube at this point.

Anonymous

My favorite Tom Hanks movie might actually be A League of Their Own.

Anonymous

What? No 'Splash'? ;) (I voted for Apollo 13 as well ... Green Mile is real heart render)

Harry Reece

All great. But how is Philadelphia doing so poorly. Still possibly his best performance IMHO. Come on peeps give Philly some love.

john collins

I'm excited to watch whichever film wins but I really hope we continue on with Harry Potter at some point!

Tiger Chu

Of course The Green Mile is going to win but I hope you have something fun to watch afterwards. That movie is gonna destroy you.

Brandon Scott

I absolutely agree that Philadelphia was one of Hanks' best performances all time, but I'm not surprised it's not doing that well. I'm actually surprised that Catch Me If You Can is even on the list. I know he has a big part to play but if I had to clarify it I wouldn't label it "a Tom Hanks movie," so much as "a Leonardo DiCaprio movie that Tom Hanks is in."

Abbie Sharp

Green Mile is such a classic but Catch Me If You Can is so good and no one reacts to it - hoping for both but totally appreciate everything you already do Natalie, don't overwork yourself!

Anonymous

Green Mile is terrific but you will definitely cry!

Eric Janssen

The Catch Me If You Can movie is a fun bit of Spielberg playing around with Mad Men style 60’s retro, and has absolutely nothing to do with the campy, sniggering Broadway gay rib-nudge. (“Y’see, he's FOOLING everyone, because he has to HIDE who he really is!…”). That said, I’m still going with Apollo 13, since Richard Branson put me in the mood to see how hard NASA really worked.

Devin Nease

She literally said in this very post that she's seen Big, Forest Gump, and Castaway.

JayF

All of those are very good but CMIYC is more of a Leonardo movie than a Tom movie IMO. If The Green Mile wins which it looks like it will then bring tissue. A LOT of tissue. That movie should have cleaned up at the Oscars and got robbed.

Joe D. MacGuffinstuff

I just want Catch Me If You Can to win so we can hear more about that musical version! I won't mind any of the others of course, I haven't seen Philadelphia since it became the movie that announced Tom Hanks as a legit serious actor with range beyond comedy. Apollo 13 is an amazing true story and Green Mile is just flat out amazing.

Anonymous

is she going to watch the Kungfu Panda trilogy?

Anonymous

I voted for Apollo 13 because The Green Mile will defiantly make you cry. Make sure you have tissues ready before you watch it.

Simon Bauer

Haven't seen Green Mile yet so voted that

Dave M.

Get your tissues ready if The Green Mile wins. Just a warning.

Anonymous

"The Green Mile" -- after watching the movie, you should definitely read the book.

Anonymous

Joe versus the Volcano

Anonymous

You might actually drown in your own tears if you watch Philadelphia.

Andrew Clifton

Amazing and truly underrated film. The Terminal is another great Tom Hanks movie.

Eric Janssen

If we say there’s musical versions out there of Rocky, My Favorite Year and The Last Starfighter, any hope of seeing THOSE on the lists? 😄

Jordan Love

Mazes & Monsters

Anonymous

Voted for Apollo 13 has one of my top 5 favorite lines..."We need to make this fit in a hole designed for that using nothing but this...." (Caution: may not be exact quote but you will know it when you see it). Voted for Philadelphia as well. Could be argued that Philadelphia is more Denzel than Hanks but they really were great co-leads. But also seems to hit the hardest because it is the most "real" of the four options for most people. In the end, I don't think there is a Hanks movie I wouldn't watch again. Not all Oscar winners but he is really good in all of them.

Anonymous

I see that Natalie's audience is once again setting her up to cry a lot.

RebRox65

Joe Versus the Volcano or League of their Own Please

George Baxter

I would say that Catch me if You Can is a better movie than Green Mile. Also I've always felt that Shawshank is just superior to GM, I get the allegory with GM but its such an extreme scenario. Plus parts of it are so unpleasant and tragic. Very Stephen King; ideas overload. Catch Me if You Can is more of an adventure and the tragedy has more weight for me because its based on a true story.

Gryff

WE WILL HAVE TEARS!

Vonlinchen

A magnificent work of cinema. The directing, the music.. masterful. The scene with Hanks & Newman in the rain.. perfect. One of the greatest scenes of all time.

Thomas Yanez

Where's "The Money Pit"?! (not really)

Anonymous

Unpopular Opinion: We don't need to see Nat cry all the time - so I voted for Funhanks! Apollo 13 and Catch Me if you can.

Vonlinchen

If you want a film about magicians, it's gotta be The Prestige.

AC5555

Voted for Apollo 13, but I also recommend Bridge of Spies, and Sully.

Anonymous

Meh... I really like The Green Mile but I'm getting a bit annoyed that seemingly all reaction creators go through the same list of movies (or - respectively - that their audience - and there must be a big overlap between creators - vote for those titles). Really don't want to watch The Green Mile yet again. Already skipping Harry Potter (absolutely not my thing - which is fine of course) but watching Philadelphia again or even Apollo 13 with a sympathetic reactor would have been nice... :-\ edit: Recently I re-watched Annihilation and The Rocky Horror Picture show on some other reactors Patreon which was great. :-)

This_Jedi_crafts

Though I know he's incredibly talented, just not a huge Tom Hanks fan. Didn't want to vote in this one but glad that Nat offers such diversity within film poll choices! Whoot Whoot!

Richard Maurer

Green Mile = extra box of tissues.

Allan Rumberger

Eric Janssen that's correct. The Green Mile is such transparent Oscar bait. It's got all the hallmarks of a movie made solely to try to get Oscar nominations instead of actually being a compelling piece of art. I had no idea until this year, with all the reactions, that anybody ever actually liked this thing.

Sour

Honestly just watch all of these, they're all great lmao

Anonymous

Volunteers, The Terminal or The Burbs.

Baron

I was reading thru all the comments and no one else has mentioned Cloud Atlas, maybe that is more of an ensemble piece compared to a movie that Tom Hanks is the star of. I personally can't wait for Nat to watch Cloud Atlas it is so amazing how each of the actors plays multiple characters and after watching her react to other movies with Hugo Weaving I am curious what she thinks of his roles in this movie, as well as her thoughts on a different Wachowskis sibling movie.

Baron

To be honest I am always disappointed with your polls, sorry to be harsh but I am just going along with what everyone else picks and never get really that vested in your choices. Silver lining for The Green Mile is that Sam Rockwell is also in this movie so I guess that is one of his movies off your list. Sorry for being negative, I appreciate you and your hard work to entertain all of us. I am just really looking forwards to a poll I am excited about, I think the down side is I no one will vote for the movie I am excited about, democracy is the fairest way so... Another silver lining is that The Green Mile is one of the better adaptions of Kings works. When it was first published when I was 16 it was released as a six part serial paperback, so I had to read a part and then wait a while for the next part of the book to be released, so maybe you can guess from the movie what cliff hangers King ended different parts on. Till Next Time.

My_Cousin_Mose

Thats such a good movie in my opinion. Is it because it's so low budget that it doesnt get much appreciation? I've seen it a dozen times at least, and it has such a good ending.

WackySwacky

I have a suggestion: Can you do 2 sets of polls? The first poll includes something like 20 films, all compiled from films patrons have recommended in the comments that you will hand pick, and people can vote for whatever films they want to see. Then you could post a second poll a day later that has the top four choices from the first poll. I have seen other people do this kind of 2 tier poll system. It makes people feel like they have a wider range of options.

WackySwacky

Also, here are some films that I am submitting for consideration in a future poll: -Dredd (2012) -Annihilation (2018) -The Mummy (1999) -Mission Impossible (1996, and maybe entire film series)

Anonymous

Sounds interesting. Maybe define a genre, a specific trait or a decade that susggested movies should have or fit into. Also go a little bit against the grain maybe...

Anonymous

Don't get me started! :-D edit: But I fear this is not the right place for suggestions, or is it?

Al Baughman

The Money Pit is a fun Tom Hanks movie, I'd rather see you laughing than crying.

Anonymous

Why not Forrest Gump??

Anonymous

There’s more to the post. Click continue reading and she mentions that she’s seen Forrest Gump, Big and Cast Away

John

Apollo 13 is great on so many levels. The cinematography and effects are so good NASA could use them for training films. The fact that it's a true story adds to the impact, and the acting from everyone in the cast is phenomenal. It also doesn't rip your heart out at the end. :)

Anonymous

One of only TWO movies I watched a second time DIRECTLY after I finished it the first time! :-) (I was a nerdy kid). The other one was From Dusk Till Dawn... go figure :D

Thomas Malley

I personally have a soft spot for Cast Away and The Terminal, somehow both movies about Tom being stuck in limbo.

Anonymous

The Green Mile seems to be winning. That's good. Bring a fresh box of cry paper.

Anonymous

Can’t go wrong with any of these.

Obsolyeet

The Terminal would have been a good choice. Catch me if You Can is more of a Leonardo movie. And every reactor out there has already done Green Mile. It's a good movie too just beaten to desth online.

REDR58

“The ‘Burbs”!

RebRox65

I don’t know how I forgot to add this absolute Tom Hanks Master piece THE TERMINAL

Anonymous

THAT THING YOU DO

juan calderon

these polls are not fair. there is always one film way more popular than the others so there really was no chance for them. Green is good but overrated, catch should win but it is more a leo movie than hanks. Philly is also a great movie and apollo i felt is more ensemble but terrific. Terminal is a hanks film thats would be a great choice.

BJ Stephens

I know this isn't in the voting so it won't really matter but for me when it comes to Hanks it's got to be Big and Joe Versus the Volcano.

Anonymous

Unfortunately, Joe Versus the Volcano has too many songs in it to pass muster on Youtube. But it is a great movie.

Chief

Apollo 13 is a favorite - but honestly I'd rather get into the From Earth to the Moon series, which Tom Hanks produced. So Green Mile it is! So many good suggestions herein from other fans.

Max du Coudray

Green Mile is such a reactor staple, I'd rather see one of the others. But whatevs.

Anonymous

I like Joe vs the Volcano. Green Mile was wonderful, but we just saw Shawshank, so GM might be a little too much prison too soon. Not really a Leonardo fan. But actually, Joe is to me the most exquisite fairy tale of a romantic comedy ever. It will certainly disappoint those who need believable realism in order to be drawn into a movie. But for some, this is a remarkable film.

Anonymous

In fact, just thinking about it, I had to go out and buy it so I will never be without it again.

Alex Vazquez

See "Every Time We Say Goodbye". Excellent love story about a gentile and a Sephardic Jew. Early Hanks. Set during WWII.

Alex Vazquez

Also see "The DaVinci Code"!

Anonymous

Please don't. "The DaVinci Code" is a good book but not an especially good film and Tom Hanks gives a very (in my opinion, anyway - but isn't that why we're here? 😉) lackluster performance. I really like him as an actor but he didn't impress in that one. 😊

Joe D. MacGuffinstuff

Damn how could I forget Joe Versus The Volcano? I so relate to that movie, and not because I'm an average and actual Joe 😆 or because I always had a crush on Meg Ryan back in the day. Tom Hanks' appeal, I think, is that he's like an even more relatable version of Bill Murray, with a little more gravity (😏) in movies like Apollo 13. I heard Hanks say as much on Graham Norton's show when someone got the two confused. Gotta love how loose and real the guests do get on that show btw, Nat knows 🍺💛

Cripkie

unintentional poetry. a beautiful thing. your comment has perfect rhyme and rhythm.

Cripkie

Id say give us one from tom that isn't a tear-jerker but lets be honest it not his style. Idk Natalie honestly. Any tom hanks pick is a watch.

Cripkie

Yeah I had a total meg ryan crush when i was a kid too. Joe verse the volcano is gold.

Matthew Periolat

I’ll stick to my choice (Apollo 13), but you can honestly argue this could be be not a choice poll, but a prioritization. All four movies are worth watching so I hope the other three are considered and polled again someday. I’ll also suggest a REALLY early obscure Hanks movie - Mazes and Monsters. I dunno how available it is, but worth a watch if you can.

John

Another suggestion for a Tom Hanks movie if you haven't seen it is "The Money Pit." It's an early comedy film of his before he really got into dramatic acting and was still primarily known for his roll on Bosom Buddies. It's not in the same league as these films, but it's a lighthearted romp when you're looking for something different.

Anonymous

Green Mile will win and rightfully so. One of the greatest of all time.

Bob Criswell

You almost can't lose with any Tom Hanks film.

Anonymous

I’m sure The Circle, Punchline, and Cloud Atlas will get their due. We have to wade through his mediocre films until we get to his real gems.

Misty Crom

Road to Perdition? Also, Ladykillers is fun. Or Saving Mr Banks since I've never seen that one.

Ryan

So no Joe vs The Volcano? It’s clearly the best Tom Hanks movie ever made closely followed by Money Pit and the Burbs.

Anonymous

Green Mile would be an excellent followup to Shawshank.

Anonymous

The disrespect for Philadelphia is real.

RebRox65

I have been saying similar stuff along these lines for awhile now. ive come to terms that lets just get all the heavy hitters out the way and then maybe we can move forward with some of the other great movies, but this time they will be more influenced by the peterons. patience here is the key

sheriffjt

Green Mile is definitely the worst of these four films, at least according to movie critics. Catch Me If You Can & Apollo 13 - 96% Philadelphia - 80% The Green Mile - 78%

Anonymous

If you do watch the green mile be ready to have a lot of tissues. that movie was really good it was mind-blowing Lee good I was like 9 years old when it first came out my parents are taking me to see it and to this day I only watch it once in awhile but it still has that effect on you. like I can't watch it because it's that damn good of a film he gets you in a way of the make you cry so much.

TwistedMagoo

I enjoyed Green Mile, but I have to say, I think Apollo 13 or Catch Me if You Can are more interesting movies to react to.

Kris Webb

If you Apollo 13 and have fingernails, prepare to bite them!

chicks dig me

I know It creates one more layer of TODO but a runoff for the 1st and 2nd players seems in order. There are 650 people that voted for neither.

YodatheHobbit

All of these are good so I win no matter what wins, but I'm voting for Phily because it's the underdog right now. And hell, it's pride week here in San Diego.

Anonymous

Forrest Gump!!!

R.BGames37

she said, she seen Forest Gump already.. and it might come later.. She wants something she has not seen before.. So.

Paul Gibbons

Funny you said the Burbs it's the Hanks film i've seen the most times even got the Special Edition Blu Ray.

Paul Gibbons

I think there was alot of moaning about the length and the sentimentality.

Paul Gibbons

I think cause A. its a lot of the same viewers on diff channels B. Reactors see what's getting views on other channels C. certain films like Green Mile lend themselves to reactions and were popular if you picked Cloud Atlas/Circle/Terminal etc don't and wouldn't get the views.

Anonymous

After this Tom Hank’s venture please look into The Money Pit. One of the overlooked ones imo. 😁

R.BGames37

A Jet Li or Jackie Chan Marathon.. that would be cool to.. True Martial Arts movies. The One. (Jet Li) Legend of the Dunken Master. (Jackie Chan) Fearless (Jet Li) Unleased. (Jet Li) Rush Hour 1-3 (Also Comedy) (Jackie Chan) Shanghai Noon / Shanghai Knights (Also Comedy, Jackie Chan) The Forbidden Kingdom (Jet Li & Jackie Chan)

Anonymous

Hey Nat, not sure if you’ve seen Interstellar, if you haven’t then I definitely recommend it

Anonymous

Boring list of films🙄. I ain't watchin none of em. Guess I'll wait for a better poll😔

Peter Hudson

Wow, low turnout for Philadelphia; great film though. That said, Green Mile is definitely the best on this list for reactions

Anonymous

And another early, comedic roll is The 'Burbs. It's a near classic that's a must watch during October.

Thundarr100

The Green Mile, 1000%. Word of advice, HAVE LOTS OF TISSUES ON HAND. Trust me, you'll need them. I generally don't cry at movies and even *I* tear up at this movie.

Guy-on-Couch

Wow I cannot believe Philadelphia is in last...not only is Tom Hanks amazing in that movie but also Denzel Washington....Nat...even if it doesn't win you HAVE TO WATCH IT

Lee Ventura

The Green Mile. A Stephen King story like no other.

Anonymous

We just did a Stephen King-based movie, the Shawshank Redemption. Let's skip the Green Mile for now.

Darren Withers

For the record, the Catch Me If You Can novel is SO much better than the movie. The novel is a true story, whereas the movie uses creative license for the audiences entertainment. Reality truly is stranger than fiction..

Anonymous

The Green Mile is one of those movies that, whenever it's on TV, I drop everything to watch it again.

jamie jones

where is captain phillips

Kyle

I think Nats reaction to the green Mile is going to be incredible!!!!

Anonymous

Why do I always end up voting for the least popular movie 🤷‍♂️

JohnnyBGoode

'Splash' would have been a fun inclusion to the list

Arthur Bridges

Didn't see this in the recommendations, but I definitely suggest Tom Hanks film 'The Terminal'

Anonymous

Joe vs The Volcano. It has the added bonus of Meg Ryan playing three very different characters. Even though it isn’t on your list, I think you would enjoy it sometime in the future.

Anonymous

Saving Private Ryan isn't on this list, and technically Hanks isn't in Band Of Brothers (only produced it with Spielberg) but it is a great TV series, with WW2 as a background to great character development and heart breaking emotional situations. No dragons in sight tho.

Anonymous

I agree with Paula Barr, Joe vs The Volcano is one of my favorite Tom Hank movies.
