This will be interesting - I have only watched this once as I didn't enjoy it that much when it came out :D

Kevin Anand

This is such a fantastic "kids movie".

Darryl Low

An awesome treat to end the week with. Thanks Nat. We love the diversity of your channel. Keep making those executive decisions, keep the surprises coming and keep watching what makes you happy, because that makes us happy Nat. Your reaction when Po visualised the scroll as a cookie was so funny. Another great score by John Powell, with co-writer Hans Zimmer. The following 2 movies are just as good and definitely worth watching. Thanks for a really fun video today, and have an amazing weekend Nat 💛

Ian

Soon as I read the newsletter I had such a wide smile because reading between the lines I figured this was coming and I just know you're going to have a lot of fun watching as we will along with you so with that in mind let's get into it 💛

Randee Carreno

Happy Friday, Natalie! 😊 Awww! This is one of my favorite animated movies. I hope that you end up doing the whole "Kung Fu Panda" trilogy. I've seen the first two movies, and I have yet to see the third one. Downloading this right now to watch tonight. I'm so excited to watch this movie reaction this evening. Have a great day today! 😊 Stay Golden! 💛

YannickWega

YES! Kung Fu Panda was one of the Movies I hoped for here on this channel ^^

Anonymous

Great movies. Good choice!

Ilsuk Yang

Shifu actually means master, so they're all literally calling him "Master, Master!"

Fauxfox

A surprise for sure, but a welcome one. DreamWorks had two of the best animated trilogies ever. This and how to train your dragon.

Tranquil_Gnome

Yea! Love this series. Love the voice acting in this. Great animation. Fun for all ages (assuming that your inner child has not died). Keep up the variety, Nat. Love the choices so far in the shows and movies.

Anonymous

Awesome pic. This is one of my all time favorites!! ❤️

Anonymous

Hey Natalie please watch First Man!

Anonymous

Can not wait for Part 2. I think it is the best one of the series. Emotions are coming....

Anonymous

Definitely watch the second movie! It’s the best out of the three!

Anonymous

Never got around to seeing the third one but the second one is really good.

It Hurt A Lot

My boss is in his 50s and these are his favorite movies. He let us have off work to watch the 3rd one when it came out in theaters haha.

Anonymous

Definitely need the trilogy

Ian

That was so much fun from time to time it's great to just watch a movie you can just chill out and immense yourself into the sillyness and enjoy 😀 I would definitely say yes to watching the other two movies more fun to be had with those for sure 🐼 you say you've not seen a proper martial arts film yet so I'd recommend giving the forbidden kingdom a go it's a lot of fun and stars Jackie chan and jet li it's a nice movie to poke your toe into a martial arts film and who doesn't love the monkey King 😉thank you as always Nat for another wonderful week of reactions you've done us proud have a fantastic weekend and until the next one stay golden 💛

Steve J

Next two are at least as much fun, definitely no drop in quality. If you're looking for something along the same vein of Kung-Fu action-comedy in live action, Shanghai Noon is super fun. Owen Wilson + Jackie Chan + Lucy Liu

Anonymous

Oh you have started, it only gets better from here. The next two are a must. I think this is a good example of doing a good story across three movies. I hope they dont make another because to me that would be going to far, but the three of them are good. Also my suggestion for a true martial arts film would be IP man series. There are currently 4 of them, but just for getting a taste of the genre i would suggest watching the first one.

Robert C

Kung Fu Panda is definitely one of those movies where you're like, "It's good? Really?" But yeah, it's fun. I think the second one is actually my favorite.

Brian Jones

I would certainly watch the second in the series. As many others have said, it's probably the best of the Panda films. In regards to a Kung Fu film, or just an insanely good martial arts film series in general, I would highly recommend Hero, or The Raid, and The Raid 2. The Raid films have some of the most insanely well filmed and choreographed fight scenes ever put on film.

Luis Torrefranca

"The Raid" movies are so good! I'm loving the emergence of SE Asian action films out of Indonesia, Malaysia, and the Philippines. Really liked "Buy Bust", but still have yet to see "Maria".

DapperKnight

You should definitely watch the rest, kung fu panda 2 is probably my favorite out of the 3 but they are all great

Grumples

Most everyone has already said this but absolutely watch the rest, especially the 2nd one. The villain is amazing.

sammi

If anyone needs help syncing the reaction to the movie on Netflix you can try out this browser extension that I developed: https://www.casper.live/ It is still a work-in-progress, but it works. My recommended "offset" for this reaction is 298.5.

Anonymous

The trilogy is definitely worth it, if you want a good Kung Fu movie series the IP man series is very good too.

David Crabtree

Fun reaction! Not sure if you have anything 4th of July-related planned, but you should definitely watch The Patriot from 2000.

john collins

the other two kung fu panda movies were ok but not nearly as good as the original in my opinion.

YYZHawk

Highly recommend the second Kung Fu Panda movie, definitely the best one!!

Navjot Singh

Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please complete the trilogy. It's really good.

Thomas Yanez

Variety is a good thing. Don't sweat it.

My Toasty Toast

I think the second one is worth watching. The third one wasn’t necessarily bad but it didn’t do anything new, and it was a bit predictable

Sean

Eclectic is the word you're looking for, Nat. 👍 I, for one, have been expectantly awaiting Natmares season again.

Anonymous

Couple fun facts: "Oogway" means "turtle" in Chinese. "Shifu" means "master". So literally Dustin Hoffman's character is "Master Master"

Thomas Yanez

I didn't see anybody else mention it, so here : there is a small post-credit sequence that calls back to earlier in the movie. Nothing earth shattering, but it is there.

Luis R.

Ah this was so fun! I haven’t watched this movie in a long time. Also I really like how you mix it up with what you watch on here it gives us all who may differ in what we like to see something to enjoy with you. I myself really enjoy jumping around all the different genres 🤙🏼

Anonymous

All three of these movies are fun watches. I wouldn’t say you need to watch them but they are always good for a break from other things. I would also recommend I’m the same category “monsters vs aliens”

Nathan Elkin

watch the last airbender lol

Henri

I think you would really enjoy Man of Steel, as well as the rest of the DCEU movies. People hate on them a lot but I think they're actually really good, particularly the extended cuts. (Not sure if this is the right place to comment movie suggestions so someone please lmk if I'm in the wrong place for that)

Matthew Periolat

This might be my favorite movie I’ve watched with you. Absolutely serious. Just the sheer joy it brought, to just smile and laugh and enjoy with drama, without pretense. Just be in a story and let it make you happy. It’s the best movie watching experience I have so far by a mile. And I am grateful after a long day and some painful stuff to have had that and have shared that. And to smile. Thank you. Now, we can have something to eat. Can’t wait for what’s next. Still Golden!

Anonymous

I’m so used to watching these in Spanish that watching the English version just feels weird. 😅 Also, the part where Po gets hit on his “tenders” was translated to “Mis panditas,” which means “my little pandas” and now my 4-year-old daughter goes around saying “Mis panditas!” 🤣 We like all 3 movies in the series. I believe a certain actor you like does the voice for the villain in the second one. Don’t want to spoil it if you prefer not to know before you watch. 😊👍🏼

Anonymous

Not sure if someone else mentioned it, but there is an end credit scene! It’s not vital, but it’s got a nice emotional call back to a scene. I’d say watch the other 2 as well! They are on par. The 2nd does steal the show, I think. As for variety…yes. If a mix-mash is what you like, with the occasional poll, do it. Don’t suffer through a series or show if you don’t enjoy it!

Kevin Anand

You should definitely watch the rest of the trilogy. It tells a complete, cohesive story. They're not cash grabs like a lot of sequels are. (Gary Oldman plays the villain in the second one so that's an immediate must-watch)

Anonymous

Yes! Each film holds up! You gotta watch the rest!

Anonymous

I can only speak for #2, but I think it's even better than the first. It's both more dramatic and heartwarming, but also funnier and has an amazing villain. Definitely do it!

Anonymous

please watch the rest of the triology =)

Thomas Malley

It's exactly because you watch whatever the heck you want, that I love your channel. It's 'eclectic' : )

Anonymous

Definitely check out the rest 👍

Ilsuk Yang

I agree that people are unduly harsh on the DCEU movies. There are some really good movies (and some bad ones; I'm looking at you "Suicide Squad," "Justice League theatrical cut," and "Birds of Prey"). Man of Steel is my favorite DCEU movie followed by Wonder Woman and Shazam (I do enjoy Zack Snyder's Justice League, but think it's a little over-hyped). The rest of the movies are good, but not great (Batman v Superman is average, not good or bad in my opinion). I'm sure many people will tell her not to watch these movies, but I agree that she should give them a chance

Anonymous

I actually watched the whole Kung Fu Panda trilogy yesterday. I could go for another watch.

Lisa Tosti

I've actually never seen this movie and I had the same impression going into it that you did so I decided I would watch it along with you for my first viewing. It was definitely fun to watch with your commentary. We often said similar things. Its a cute movie but I think I prefer How to Train Your Dragon followed by Shrek as my two favorite Dreamworks movies. But this was a fun way to spend my Friday night :-)

Ilsuk Yang

You should definitely complete the trilogy! Also, I don't think I've seen anyone make this request, but the TV show "24" is a blast to watch. It would take you a long time to finish it (9 seasons with seasons 1-8 having 24 episodes each, season 9 having 12 episodes, and season 7 has a prequel movie along with it) so I would suggest taking a break after each season. It's on Hulu (in the correct order, so you can just start watching it and continue with the next episode when you're ready). The lead character is played by Keifer Southerland (no idea if I spelled that correctly or not!) and he absolutely kills it in this role! Anyways, just a suggestion

Anonymous

This is a great trilogy and if you continue the series you will eventually get Bryan Cranston . Also a word of warning these films do have end credit scenes.

Anonymous

I love that you watch different stuff. Like you, I get bored easily, but never by your content. :)

Anonymous

Great reaction😁 If your interested in seeing jack black in something more lowkey, i'd recommend The Holiday with him, Kate Winslet, Cameron Diaz and Jude Law. As to trilogies, if you ever watch the terminator movies, 1 and 2 will do. No need to go further than those😁

Anonymous

Yes, I’d be very excited to watch the other two with you. Great Movies!

Holly R

I think the headline here is that Natalie has never seen a proper kung fu film. So, some suggestions: -Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon the wuxia film that was most of the west's introduction to the style -Legend of the Drunken Master (Drunken Master II) one of the best Jackie Chan movies, tons of creativity here -Ip Man a not so common WW2 movie, shows off Donnie Yen's wing chun style wonderfully -Hero another big wuxia entry, some absolutely gorgeous cinematography and design -Shaolin Soccer ok, not exactly a kung fu film, but she should definitely see it

Brandon Scott

I’m not sure what others have said about it but the sequels for this really aren’t of the same caliber of film. It’s not like HTTYD where the sequels were treated as top-tier movies. They’re just not that good, IMO.

Calo Grsf

Thanks Nat, great reaction, I love it when you do anime reactions, you're like a kid haha, I hope you do the sequels! 😁 Don't forget food is the best motivation in the universe and the best reward 😂🍕 I hope you're fine, take care, be safe and stay golden! 💛

Ben Gilshenan

does anyone else kinda want nat to watch bo burnhams inside and see her reaction

Joel Palenychka

Definitely watch the two sequels!! The second is even better, in my opinion, than the first. Not quite as much silly, although still plenty, but a metric truckload of feels. I can't say more without getting into details.

Brandon Scott

Yes, please. Maybe start with at least Can’t Handle This from Make Happy?

Anonymous

So glad she finally watched it! If you have any interest each movie after just gets better imo. There is still comedy in the next two but it's a lot more focus on the story, and Poe progressing. The story in the first movie is pretty good and feels somewhat complete without the next movies if you aren't interested, but you get some amazing story progression and questions answered in the next two; they actually start setting up the story in the first movie very well.

Xenic Mark

Yes! Finally! This is probably my favorite animated trilogy. Each movie gets better as you progress. Definitely watch the others.

Anonymous

Pleeeeeaaassssssseeeee watch the trilogy. Po's progression and the quality of the art only get better with each movie. I'm probably just rehashing what everyone else is saying but that's just cuz it's that good

Anonymous

The second is defs worth watching, it's the best of the trilogy! The stakes definitely rise, with the story getting a lot darker and more emotional than the first, with a really great story and villain. The third is probably the weakest of the three story-wise, probably skippable without too much to say that's new unless you want something pretty light-hearted and entertaining for a watch.

K.N.

I don't remember the 3rd movie, but I definitely remember the 2nd one being great and worth a watch!

nexus

You should watch the creed movies

Anonymous

I think you’ll be surprised at how great the second film is and tbh in some ways it’s better than this one

Anonymous

The 2nd one is definitely on par with this movie. The 3rd is just plain cute and sweet. But I wouldnt say you need to do it right away, cause they remind a lot of the How To Train Your Dragon movies

Anonymous

Originally, they were planning to make a total of six films... wonder if that'll end up happening, and I'd watch them all if they did. Even if they never do, I love all three of the films, with Po's growth and the humour, if nothing else, haha.

Anonymous

I don't know why watching these life lessons reminded me of Rocky. Have you seen his movies? They are great ;)

Aaron Taft

Yes! Yes Nat you have redeemed yourself from the last Blade Runner Movie. I haven't seen my Daughter in nine years. I only have five years left till her mother can't septate us. But, ya know now; there is NOTHING a father won't do for his Daughter. I think ya see now.

Joe Blankenship

I’ve skipped over a lot of Dreamworks animated movies in the past. I might have been a bit of a Pixar snob, but this was better than I thought it would be. All I knew is he says “skidoosh”. And what a build up to that! Okay, Natalie, what Jackie Chan movies have you seen? The Foreigner was really good. That’s one of his newer ones. Or Bruce Lee? Enter the Dragon is a classic.

Anonymous

Definitely watch the second one for sure. It is absolutely fantastic! The third is much weaker, but still a solid movie. However, if you do watch that one, just be prepared for sooo many throwbacks to the first movie.

Anonymous

This is a DEFFFFF a Trilogy you neeeeed to finish!!!!!!

chicks dig me

I guessed this movie would be aimed at adolescents...and I was right.

Anonymous

If you've never watched a kung fu movie I highly, highly recommend the movie 'Hero'. Good story, gorgeous visuals and an excellent script. Definitely worth a watch.

JarHead0351

I am glad that you took the time and reacted to this movie - I did enjoy this movie which to me was better than How to Train your Dragon - should do Depictable Me

Kelvin

In terms of fun Kung Fu movies you should also check out Kung Fu Hustle. Not animated but still v fun and funny

Anonymous

The second Kung Fu Panda is a very impressive sequel. Builds on what came before, glorious to look at, and solid villain with Gary Oldman (a fave on this channel) having an absolute scene-chewing ball. Recommend.

chicks dig me

Well, that was horrible.

John Smith

Even if you don't finish the whole trilogy I would recommend watching the second film. I think its like how much better they got in how to train your dragon.

Tabatha Cat

The second Kung Fu Panda is fantastic. You should at least see that.

Ellis Hugh

Putting in a HUGE vote that your next animated movie be Into the Spider-verse. It was absolutely groundbreaking.

Darius.

I'm late, and others have chimed in too, but some "proper" Fighting Movies to consider are: In U.S.: "Fearless" (2006), In China: "Huo Yuanjia" (Mandarin) Directed by Ronny Yu, Written by Chris Chow, Richard Epcar (Dubbed Version), and Chi-Long To: Fearless is a Sports Biography (Biopic), it also acts as an Action Drama. Fun Fact: Excerpt from IMDb - In the Movie, Jet Li uses the 'Jian' (Chinese Straight Sword), 'Sanjiegun' (Three Section Staff), 'Dao' (Chinese Broad Sword), and the 'Qiang' (Chinese Spear). "Shanghai Noon" (2000) Directed by Tom Dey, Written by Miles Millar, and Alfred Gough: Shanghai Noon is a Action Comedy Western. Fun Fact: Jackie Chan's Character, 'Chon Wang' pays homage to John Wayne (Marion Robert Morrison) - it's the Chinese translation and pronunciation, only difference is, Wang is the First name. In U.S.: "House of Flying Daggers" (2004), In China: "Shi Mian Mai Fu" (Mandarin) Directed by Yimou Zhang, Written by Feng Li, Bin Wang & Yimou Zhang: House of Flying Daggers is a Romance Action Adventure. Fun Fact: The literal English translation of the Chinese Title is, "Ambushed From Ten Directions". The last one I'm suggesting is not like the others, I'm merely putting it in because of it's cinematic importance - it is a Mystery Crime Drama Titled, "Rashomon" (1950) Directed by Akira Kurosawa, Written by Ryunosuke Akutagawa (Stories Rashomon and In a Grove), Shinobu Hashimoto (Screenplay) & Akira Kurosawa (Screenplay): Fun Fact: Rashomon is often credited as the reason the Academy Awards created the "Best Foreign Film" Category. This Movie is so popular, it spawned what is now called, "The Rashomon Effect". I won't say what it is, you can figure that out for yourself. BTW, feel free to ignore if you've already seen these.

Nico Piel

Ip Man is an amazing Martial Arts movie. Definite recommendation.
