Can’t wait, 5 and 6 were where it picked up a lot!

Marvel Monday!! - Btw Nattie there's a "series" on D+ called 'Marvel Studios Assembled'. It has 'making-of' episodes for the MCU shows so I would LOVE if you reacted to that when you're done with WandaVision. Could be Patreon exclusive or something but I think you would love to watch how they made the series and all that :]

Anonymous

Nat is hard at work during the holiday! Much appreciated of course! Hope we all had a fun and safe time with friends and family

Ian

Happy marvel Monday Nat/ everyone hope you had a nice weekend and a good independence day, gotta agree haywood sure is a dick 😂 another week begins and a great way to kick it off with WV btw this quicksilver is from xmen if you had watched days of future past you would know him bit confusing if you havnt seeing as soon as he's revealed crowd cheering is heard but its fine either way 🙂 anyways let's get into it 💛

Rondo

bro calm down

Happy Marvel Monday, Natalie! 😊 Love these two episodes. I love the intro of episode 5. Paying homage two of the shows I watched "Growing Pains" and "Full House". Especially since Elizabeth Olsen(Wanda) is the younger sister of Mary-Kate & Ashley who was in "Full House". Your questions about Vision will be answered soon. The more the episodes progressed, the more I hated Hayward. I was wondering if you were going to recognize Evan Peters, who's playing Pietro. He played Quicksilver in the X-Men movies. Fun Fact about episode 6: Wanda's, Vision's, Pietro's, Tommy's, and Billy's Halloween costumes are their character costumes from the comics. 3 episodes left to go in this series. Episodes 7, 8, and 9. There are going to be post-credit scenes these last three episodes. 1 post-credit scene for episodes 7 and 8. And mid and post-credit scenes for episode 9. Also, not to give away any spoilers but be sure to have tissues for the last two episodes. Have a great day today! 😊 Until the next video, Stay Golden! 💛

This Pietro is the the version of her brother from the X-men movies

codenamewitch xx

All of their Halloween costumes are actually their original Comic accurate costumes.

Anonymous

The Halloween episode was all comic accurate costumes for their characters

Anonymous

I love the paper towel ad that ends with "Lagos, for when you make a mess you didn't mean to" -- this is a direct reference to when she accidentally killed a bunch of people in a building in Lagos, Nigeria during Age of Ultron.

Anonymous

They are dressed like the comic book versions of the characters.

Christopher Boscarino

I know someone probably mentioned that the music for Wandavision was written by the same team that did "Frozen." I love the 80's intro the best.

Mike LL

Way back when Marvel comics created two new villans, Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch who initially fought the Avengers but were eventually revealed to be mutants named Pietro and Wanda Maximoff and were the twin children of the mutant X-Men villain Magneto. They appeared in many Avengers and X-Men comic stories and were members of both teams. When Marvel sold movie rights of X-Men to 20th Century Fox and Spider-Man to Sony, they kept the rights to all of the characters that appeared as Avengers. 20th Century Fox used the Pietro character in several X-Men movies played by Evan Peters. His super fast powers and comedic angle made him very popular with fans. They did not use the Wanda character. Apparently because the Maximoff twins were members of both Avengers and X-Men, Marvel also used both characters in the MCU, but did not refer to them as mutants, but as “miracles” that got their powers from experimentation from an Infinity Stone. Several years ago Disney purchased the Fox film studio, re-aquiring the rights to the X-Men universe of characters. When it came time to use the Pietro character in their mind-trippy WandaVision series, Marvel caused a stir in the fandom by using not Aaron Taylor-Johnson, who played the ill fated Quicksilver in Age of Ultron, but used Evan Peters who portrayed Pietro in the X-Men movies. Talk about a surprise reveal. Instant fan speculation ensued as to whether Wanda had pulled an alternate reality Pietro from the multiverse. Would other actors from the Fox X-Men movie series start to appear in the MCU?

Darryl Low

Hope you had a great holiday weekend Nat. Don't stress yourself out. we're going with your flow. Ur school, ur rulez. My math sucks too ha ha 😄 We always knew you were a Kat person Nat. These episodes certainly moved things forward a lot, were pretty dark and messed up, but were certainly intriguing. I haven't seen the next 3 shows, so I will be watching along with you for the first time. Thanks for today's reaction Nat 💛

Anonymous

Nat should definitely watch the X-Men movie series too.

Anonymous

Only Jimmy Woo is FBI. The rest of em are SWORD. Also everyone in their comic book costumes in this episode was pretty sweet

john collins

they're dressed the way their characters look in the comic books in this episode.

Valar Dohaeris

Suggestion: React to the last 3 together. It will match nicely with YouTube and won't leave 1 episode hanging alone. In fact 3s would have been a more natural way to group this series (3 30 mins episodes are like a short movie), having the first 3 the ones without real world knowledge, the 3 we just saw the second act and the last 3... ;)

Haughtbreaker Nic

It's not just SWORD. When Darcy arrived, she listed off seeing the different branches of the military as well. It's a joint task force response headed by SWORD.

Calo Grsf

Happy belated 4th of July and happy "Marvel Monday" 😀 Thanks Nat for the great reaction, you were awesome and full of emotions, laughter and confusions/questions as only you could say haha First of all, don't worry about talking a lot, without that, it will miss one of the "Golden" charms haha And if not, you should watch the X Men saga, it will allow you to complete the puzzle haha And finally always in good shape concerning the sentences "Natalie Gold Quality", I adore them 😄 I hope you're fine, take care, be safe and stay golden! 💛

Haughtbreaker Nic

The 90s episode is based mostly off Malcolm in the Middle. The intro is almost an exact replica of the intro from that show. In Malcolm in the middle, the show is shot from the prospective of Malcolm, the middle child, who often speaks directly to the camera like the twins were doing. I loved Pietro looking at the camera with a look of "who are you talking to" lol. The first three episodes are almost like a misdirect. The pace is so different and then you hit episode 4 and it's like the sh*t hit the fan. My guess for the people on the outer edges is that it's an energy conservation technique for Wanda. She only animates those concentrates on those closest to her while the others are left in an almost frozen state. And it is funny that Vision mentions there are no kids, and then the next episode all the kids show up.

Anonymous

You need to watch X-men movies to understand about quiucksilver from the x-men universe. Watch X-men Days of the future past and x-men apocalipse. Great reaction Natalie! Happy Marvel Monday

Anonymous

Their costumes are replicas of the original comic book ones. The actor playing Petro plays quicksilver (wandas brother) in the Fox/Marvel/X-men movies.

Brandon

I'm sure the other comments mentioned this, but the Pietro thing is even weirder if you've seen the X-Men series where Evan Peters played a different version of that character in 3 films. This is my second time watching the series and I'm finding it even darker and weirder than before. I think I'm liking it even more this time around.

NFXx

Yeah I waiting for the Pietro scene to see if you would get it or not, so I guess you haven’t seen any of the X-Men films. Evan Peters also played Quicksilver/Peter (Pietro) in the recent X-Men films. Pretty much the same character in both franchise but in the X-Men films they acknowledge Peter is the son of Magneto. Which in the comics Pietro and Wanda are the son and daughter of Magneto, one of the X-Men villains. Can’t wait to see the next reaction, which someone else suggested it’s probably best to watch all three.

Anonymous

Bringing you up to speed on some of the things you missed in this episode Nat - I'm sure other people are going to mention them too, but as it stands, it says there are only two other comments (I'm sure probably not and I just need to update my screen). 1 - as each decade depicts a style of a certain show from the era, the Halloween episode was filmed to pay homage to Malcolm in the Middle - that's why Tommy and Billy were breaking the fourth wall. 2 - The costumes worn by Wanda, Vision, Pietro and the twins were the suits worn in the comic books that the show is based on. I notice you kinda got the sense of it from seeing Vision, but I'm also assuming you've never read any of the comic books and since you actively try to avoid spoilers, I can see why you wouldn't have known that. And 3 - the recasting of Pietro used actor Evan Peters - the actor who portrayed Quicksilver in the Fox Universe of X-men movies...think of it as the same character in films by another studio with shared property rights to the character and hence portraying him in a different light. This recasting broke the internet as no one was expecting the crossover. (I'll leave it at that, as I'm sure someone else will go further into detail, and I don't want to spoil anything you haven't seen yet - I am only speaking of things you have seen in these two episodes).

Ken Schneyer

You are probably seeing lots of this advice from others in the comments, but:

Ken Schneyer

Various clues intended for Marvel geeks: 1. Look up Evan Peters. 2. Look up X-Men: Days of Future Past. 3. Look up the film Kickass. 4. Look up the costumes of Vision, Quicksilver, and the Scarlet Witch from the comics. 5. Notice how carefully Hayward was informed that Wanda (in MCU, not in the comics) does *not* have a superhero name. 6. In the comics, Vision and Wanda have twin sons, Thomas and William, one of whom has super-speed and one of whom has powers like his mother's.

Ben

Episode 5: This is the Pietro actor from the X Men movies. Episode 6; Wanda, Vision and Pietro end up wearing their classic 1960s costumes (aren't you glad the MCU didn't use these?)

Baron

Thank you for the great reaction, I read all the comments and I don't think any one has mentioned the fact that the second episode is modeled off of the tv show "Malcom In the Middle" from the credits to how Malcom would always break the fourth wall during the tv show, explaining stuff directly to camera. Great reactions still watching but wanted to share some thoughts, before someone else beats me to the punch.

Tranquil_Gnome

The show is really hitting its stride now. I'm so glad they made this. Minor FYI they keep talking about or showing hexes, the six sided polygon. In the comics, Wanda had the power to "hex" people, events. To cause things to go badly as her powers changed the probability of the situation. As time in the comics progressed she got more powers and more powerful. This being the MCU, characters are a bit different as they don't have half a century to tell stories with the characters (and do crazy stuff to keep people interested).

Anonymous

Just a heads up, the final 3 episodes of the series have mid-credits scenes, so make sure to sit through the first set of credits!

Kevin Mowery

I know you've said that you want to get caught up on the series before tackling Black Widow, which is coming out later this week. I know people have said before that the series aren't really essential for BW, but I'll throw in another (non-spoilery) data point. There's something in Falcon & The Winter Soldier that the showrunners have said they figured people would have seen Black Widow before the show was released, so they'd recognize the thing, but because BW was delayed so much, the show ended up being the first time we saw it. (Now I'm just wondering if you'll stick to two episodes and do episode 9 in two weeks or if, after episode 8, you'll decided to just power through and do three episodes next Monday.)

Matthew Periolat

My sole regret so far with WandaVision is you not exposed to enough to get some of the twists. Beggars can’t be choosers though. I will say the Halloween costumes were all based of the original comic based costumes for the heroes. And the real joke is they swore up and down to Elizabeth Olsen that she’d never wear that costume. But so worth it. Next time… I feel an earworm coming on, but that’s as much as I’ll say. Still Golden until then.

Dani

I hope you do 3 episodes next week. ep 8 and 9 are absolutely heartbreaking. And btw Wanda's superhero name is The Scarlet Witch not Red Witch lol.

LionBro

Can you put Clue on your next poll?

Ellis Hugh

Wanda and Pietro's Halloween costumes are actually their comic-accurate costumes from the golden age of comics. Vision too. It was a really great easter egg for comic fans.

Ellis Hugh

When Wanda isn't focused on certain citizens, they either just stop moving or keep repeating what they were last doing when she was thinking of them...

Anonymous

Fingers crossed next Monday gets episodes 7-9 posted.

acidnova

Adding to your comment: And even though they were specifically doing Malcolm in the MIddle, there were several shows that featured kids/teens who spoke directly to the camera in the 90s like Clarissa Explains It All and Sister Sister so it was already a trope by the time Malcolm in the Middle came around.

Daniel Vezina

For Wanda, Infinity War and Endgame happened just one after the other, she didn't have 5 years to grief. Plus when she got back Vision body has been taken.

Lucky Dragon ‘She.They’

Another reminder that episodes 7-9 have end-credits scenes. 9 has 2. One at the mid-credits and one after.

Cole Jennett

You mentioned you’d like to be able to watch the episodes more closely but people expect you to comment, but I disagree. I would prefer you watch more closely as well. I expect you to have reactions, not commentary. I spend more times shushing you so you don’t miss anything. It doesn’t seem to work though🤪

Travis

The actor who plays Pietro or Peter is the actor who played that character in the X Men movies. He’s definitely more light hearted than Pietro from Age of Ultron. This is why I suggested watching Days of Futures Past before this episode. This reveal didn’t hit you as hard as it did for most of us because it had us thinking there was a Fox X-Men/Marvel crossover of some sort happening.

Connor Ellis

That was Peter (Pietro) from the X-Men films. That actor played the same superhero, Quicksilver, in the X-Men films.

Travis

The 90s theme is “Malcolm in the Middle”

Travis

They’re both dressed up as them selves from the original comics

Tony Sanson

As others have said, Evan Peters being cast as Pietro blew my mind and broke the internet. SO much speculation, so many theories. I also vote for the last three episodes for next week. Saves having that last episode as a stand-alone. I also need a Darcy/Woo X-Files-ish show. Make it happen Marvel.

Nicholas Sulikowski

Regarding recasting Pietro: In the MCU namely Age of Ultron, he was played by Aaron Taylor-Johnson. Quite separately though, in the X-Men Film Universe, there was an alternate version of Pietro played by Evan Peters. And so having Evan Peters show up in the MCU as Pietro is a kind of wink into the camera nod to the fans who know about both universes. The style of episode is very heavily inspired by Malcolm in the Middle. Right down to the opening having a rough homemade quality, rock theme, and the camera style. As well as having characters talk directly to the camera during the same scene and kind of frame the situation for the audience, no laugh tracks, and the odd Family Guy-esque cutaways to past events. The Halloween costumes of Wanda, Vision, and Pietro are very exact replicas of what their characters would wear in the comics. IIRC, Elizabeth Olsen swore she would never wear the costume from the comics, and yet here we are. lol

Christopher French

I also say you watch the last 3 all next week. It's worth the extra time. After Game of Thrones, we are all like "is he gonna die" too.

Anonymous

Definitely don't feel obligated to comment when you wouldn't normally do it. Part of the reason I got into your reactions in the first place was that you came off very natural, while other reactors tend to ham it up too much. Lately it does feel like you are very self-conscious about what the audience may or may not be expecting. Don't fall into that trap, just do what feels natural, it works out better that way.

Lisa Tosti

people have talked about Pietro being Quicksilver from X-men which is correct. Because Pietro and Wanda are siblings but Wanda and Pietro are also mutants and in the X-men, the deal between marvel and x-men was that in the X-men movies he would be named Peter and called Quicksilver (his superhero name) and in the MCU, they would only go by their names and not their super hero names (Wanda and Pietro). Now that Disney owns both franchises, they were able to bring him over. Fans of both series were like WHAT?! I like that you said he is the comedic version because in the Xmen franchise, he really is a comedic character. He has the BEST scenes. I'm thinking after you catch up on the marvel shows, you are going to need to watch the Xmen series that has him in it (which is Xmen first class, Xmen days of future past, and Xmen Apocolypse).

MertzRocks

AGREED!! Natalie you just do you and never hold back please!

Eman

The last 3 episodes 7, 8, 9 have after credit scenes so remember to watch those as well!

Joseph Tamburo

Put me in the "don't feel forced to comment" camp. You emote enough with your facial expressions that I don't need you to force in commentary that leads to you missing plot points which you are later on confused about. Feel free to talk/add commentary more at the end of episodes. I always enjoy those segments.

Stefan Johannsson

Ahem....her name is The Scarlett Witch! And yes, that's how her costume looked in the comics :) Others have said & educated enough about the Pietro/Evan Peters/X-men Quicksilver thing, lol

Kevin Bartelen

The "re-cast" Pietro is the actor who played him in the X-Men movies, just FYI.

Thomas Malley

Same. I've gotten better at listening to both her comments and the show, but it's difficult. But I think she's able to keep track of what's happening, but sometimes she misses something important.

Anonymous

At one point Wanda says “kick ass” as a reaction. This is a reference to Evan Peters and Aaron Taylor-Johnson appearing together in the film Kick-Ass

Anonymous

Happy Marvel Monday everyone! As a lot of other people have already commented I would also advise to watch the last 3 episodes together.

Joel Palenychka

Yes, the actor playing Pietro in this series is the actor who played Pietro in the Xmen movies. When this first came up this spawned a huge amount of talk and speculation of the two franchises working together. The costumes that Wanda, Vision, and Pietro wear are versions of their costumes from the comic books. They do look bad because they always looked bad.

Hei Yeung Lam

Dont forget there'd post credit scene starting next episode!!!!

Chris Lane- Venturi 3D

They mentioned she has no nickname because she isn't Scarlet Witch in MCU canon I believe that was part of the existing deal related to the mutants, etc. that others have mentioned. Also, I LOVE the cast of this show, everyone is awesome. I especially love Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambeau

Jason Dolan

It looked like you have a MIND STONE for the second episode (6), when you left the overhead light on haha

Jason Dolan

You should work in advertising... WANDAVISION! Black Mirror but Disneyfied! That's a perfect description of this show.

Brian Jones

NO SPOILERS ---- Yeah, not quite the same impact since Nat hasn't seen the Fox X-men films.... As I'm sure many people have already mentioned, the internet lost it's collective shit when Evan Peters showed up as Pietro because he plays the X-men version of quicksilver (the same comics character as Wanda's brother, played by Aaron Taylor-Johnson in the Marvel films) as it hinted that now that Disney owns Fox and the rights to the X-men they might be merging the universes. In context I'm sure you can imagine the sound of millions of heads exploding at that reveal. :) Also, the Halloween costumes that Vision and Wanda were wearing are the original outfits of their characters in the early Marvel comics. So yes, Vision was technically dressed as himself. Great reaction as always.

MichaelB

I think you really have to be pushing it to suggest that the representation of the comic scarlet witch in this episode, is really what she was suggesting she wouldn't want to wear.

Doug Watson

Full House was a 90's show, not 80's, that theme seems more like Family Ties.

Steve J

To be fair, Im sure 98% of the Disney plus viewership has never opened a comic book.

Steve J

Darcy & Woo investigate the weirdest recessces of the Marvel corners would be great 🙂

Steve J

And both of those movies I would consider reaction-worthy

Anonymous

Please watch First Man! It's a good movie

Fuzzy Dunlop

The Pietro reveal doesn't pack much punch if you haven't seen Xmen. A big crossover for those fans of both. :) You're the best, Nat.

Lucifer Moon

The general unconfirmed theory right now is that she is mad at Captain Marvel for her mom dying alone.

Lucifer Moon

I love how they are all wearing their comic outfits, even the kids and the "Malcolm in the Middle" formate.

Heliastein

I kind of agree with everyone you should watch the 3 last ones together. It was an awesome ride again this week!

Robert Reichle

They never looked nearly that bad. These superhero movies are going out of their way to NOT make characters look like they do in the comics for fear it will not turn out good. Too many people end up just running around wearing leather and military style gear. I always wonder why they even want to use the characters if they are so set against what they look like. It just takes some effort to pull it off. They've managed to do it with Spider-man, Thor, Doctor Strange, Iron Man, and Ant Man. All of them could easily have turned out looking ridiculously stupid too. Just a little effort is all they need.

Kenny Teeology

It's great that baby Elizabeth Olsen looks just like her sisters who were in Full House.

Kevin Mowery

Considering setting up a whiteboard just to keep track of the number of "oh God, you guys" from episodes 8 and 9. Have tissues ready, Nat.

Ellis Hugh

Really the best way is to watch the series is by watching the first four, then the next three, then the last two. That's kind of how they're matched up as Act 1, Act 2 and Act 3. But, since we're here, the last three together would probably be better than 7&8 and then waiting to do 9. I just worry about too much happening at once and it all kind of becoming a blur...

Anonymous

3 things id like to say.. 1. do you think you are more powerful than WANDA?! you have to do 3 eps next week! you must be crazy powerful to think you can stop yourself at ep 8 :P haha (i actually dont care, i just wanted to make that joke haha) 2. in ep 6........ "I use to audition kids a lot".... audition for what?! WHAT DOES THAT MEAN?! has this been explained before? i need to understand! haha 3. Im new to the patreon crew, but noticed your "Stay Golden shirt" (and have now just researched your merch has finished) any thoughts on bringing merch out again?

Steve J

2. I think she's mentioned before that she works/has worked in casting. So I imagine something along the lines of getting a list of people from a casting director and has to work on auditioning them to narrow down the list of people to be in whatever show/movie.

chicks dig me

I thought you lived in CA?

Ilsuk Yang

So, just some things for you to know. Agent Woo is the only FBI agent, everyone else is part of SWORD or outside specialists (like Darcy) brought in to help out with the situation. Also, the actor playing Pietro is different because there are two versions of him in films. So, one version is the MCU version you saw in Avengers: Age of Ultron. The other is the Fox X-Men version (recorded well before Disney bought Fox) that appeared in a few movies in that franchise. The actor you see here is the Fox version of Pietro. Also, you are indeed correct in saying that the final 3 episodes have end credit scenes (the final episode has 2 if I remember correctly).

This_Jedi_crafts

I was at a friend's / hanging in her backyard for the "holiday weekend" and totally escaped and relaxed - didn't check my phone SO....when I saw that Nat posted more WandaVision - I was like "YES!" (and had something to look forward to watching, Tuesday evening). Love watching it with someone who is clearly figuring it all out but, like me, may have been "what the HECK," first time around! All the twists and turns and holes will make sense.

Gryff

Yep, kinda ticked me off at first because I missed them on my first time around but looking back at it, it actually mirrors how the Marvel movies progressed. The end ones had multiple end credit scenes as well.

Anonymous

For real. I just texted my buddy and was like ... I feel like crying, what marvel movie should I watch? And then went on YouTube and saw you started Wandavision. Here we go!

Andrew Dickinson

This episode is where I think Disney made a booboo, they knew that the "casting" would cause the internet to explode, but we didn't get it for Nat for a couple of reasons, probably not seen the X-Men movies, and the shared "character" but mostly I think as it's a solo reaction, as all of the other reactors whom I follow that are in groups, so at least one of them is going to jump up and down whilst pointing at the screen.

—thoughtstorms—Keith—

Wow.  I think i've read all the comments and replies!   So i don't think anyone responded to the musical you mentioned with mannequins 'coming to life'.  That was a joy for me, because i've researched that short musical after hearing Bernadette Peters recording of possibly my favourite Sondheim song to sing:  "I Remember {Sky}".   The show was a 50 minute TV musical that aired in 1966 (i was 3, then, 30\+ when i finally found it) on and ABC show called "ABC Stage 67".  This amazing episode was called "Evening Primrose" and all of the 14 songs are by Stephen Himownself Sondheim!  Some of them are masterpieces that would have been essentially lost if Bernadette and Mandy Patinkin hadn't smashed them onto an amazing album!  It is watchable on YouTube for $1.99, and available from the Paley Center, i think.   I'd gladly send you $20 to watch and comment!  It is an incredibly strange and evocative work. On the matter of commenting while watching -v- not as much ... go with your wonderful gut!   There isn't a reactor going that has a fraction of your authenticity, heart, and smarts!   We will work with whatsoever schedule and format you choose!  I think watching Black Widow after WVision and before FalconBucky would be fine, if we can stream it to watch along!  They were planned in that order, but the Plague made other plans.  What i want to say -- and what i think i hear in fellow fans' reactions is: be true to you!  If you don't stay you - then "staying Golden" will become just more "tolerating tinsel".  (C;  And with that odd protojoke comment i will turn off the fanboy gush for a while.   Eager and patient for the content only you can make!

Steven Tarsitano

you haven't seen the x-men movies, so the recasting of pietro is going to be a bit confusing to you, but Evan Peters played X-men's version of Quicksilver. it made fans go nuts to see him in wandavision.

Steven Tarsitano

their costumes went totally over your head lol. they're both dressed as their comic book versions.

Jeff E

Don't trust Agnes one bit. Nope.

Jeff E

Oh Kathryn Hahn is giving a REALLY good performance. You'll see why she was laughing maniacally. I mean, to be fair, she was dressed as a witch for Halloween. So it was fitting.

Anonymous

You've clearly never seen the Xmen Legacy movies (Hugh Jackman). I'd suggest adding those to your watchlist. You'll understand this version of Pietro a lot better and why it's sort of significant.

YodatheHobbit

That's false though, because it has no bearing on the plot. It WASN'T significant.

Garrick Smalley

Yes they are dressed up as themselves. And oh god I wish I could answer some of your questions in real time.

Kevin

That was Pietro in the X-Men films, Marvel was toying with our emotions to make us think the universes were crossing D:
