I shall alert my neighbors to prepare for some loud crying.

I cannot wait to watch this tonight. So glad you’re enjoying them.

Darryl Low

WhooHoo! Toothless Thursday

Ian

Dragon training Thursday this is going to be so enjoyable toothless is so cute 🐲 happy you are feeling better Nat I know you will adore this film so let's get into it 💛

David Olden

Gladly, Netflix had the first HTTYD, but doesn’t have the second. Neither does Prime, and I can’t afford to rent. I really wanted to continue this journey with all of you, but sadly I can’t.

Danishprince

So freaking happy you're going for the entire trilogy!

YannickWega

I'm from Germany and we have the first and the second movie on Netflix and the 2 series but not the third movie

Randee Carreno

Happy Thursday, Natalie! 😊 I decided to watch this one right away. I absolutely loved the first HTTYD. I had no idea that it was part of a trilogy until I saw it in the comments here for the first movie. Glad that you're feeling better. Have a great day! 😊 Until the next video, Stay Golden! 💛

sammi

If anyone needs help syncing the reaction to the movie on Netflix you can try out this browser extension that I developed: https://www.casper.live/ It is still a work-in-progress, but it works. My recommended "offset" for this reaction is 272.8.

Baron

Thank you for the great reaction, I wonder if the people who made this movie at DreamWorks asked them selves how can we make our selves more like Disney? I haven't watched your reaction yet but I know what happens so I hope you enjoyed this "feel good" movie, it does have a couple of bumps. Edit addition: I just started your reaction and wanted to add that on my Netflix it's a picture of his Dad, who was voiced by Jerald Butler from 300 did you recognize his voice yet? Maybe Netflix has different thumbnails based on the gender you select for your profile, I am just guessing I have no idea, but wanted to share my thoughts.

Simon Bauer

Wasn't expecting this so fast, yay! Top 5 music scores in a film imo - you should get an allergic test done!

Love these movies! So glad you’re watching them!

Niklas

I was 27 years old when this was released and it was the first animated movie I saw in the cinema since I was a kid. Amazing experience.

Ian

That was great watching along with u nat heartwarming indeed and equally so seeing you have so much fun watching 💛 seems unlikely but if you havnt seen the shrek movies they would have you laughing a lot I guarantee it 🙂, finding nemo and coraline visually are stunning and I'd think you would enjoy that aspect a lot plus they are very good films also

Calo Grsf

Thanks Nat for this new reaction! 😁 And I'm glad you feel better 💛 Seeing you melt with emotion like that in less than 5 minutes is a real treat 😄 Yeah the soundtrack of the movie is absolutely awesome, one of my favourite 🎼, and seeing toothless kill Stoik is heartbreaking 😢 I can't wait to see you go further in the adventure! I hope you're fine, take care, be safe and stay golden! 💛

Darryl Low

THANKS Nat for an amazing reaction today. Great to see you having so much fun with Toothless and the gang, and that new box of tissues came in handy. Man, this movie hits you in the gut. I think that this is your third reaction that featured a Viking longboat funeral. And the new baddie-come-goodie was voiced by Jon Snow himself !! Another amazing John Powell score with some really cool new themes. Really excited and looking forward to watching the third one with you Nat. Thank you 💛

Ehrys V.

Dreamworks seems to put effort into their sequels. Frozen 2 was the first Disney sequel that I would consider good.

Ehrys V.

This trilogy has been spectacular so far, but I'm still confused as to why the vikings have scottish accents...

Anonymous

I cant say how much I love these movies! Eventhough I always ending up crying. Stoick's funeral is so beautifully done.

Anonymous

Ayup, Netflix has the worst spoilery thumbnails. It feels like it is intentional.

Nathan Elkin

The Girl Who Leapt Through Time

Anonymous

This is my favorite animated trilogy for all the reasons that are in this movie. Another great animated movie would be into the spider verse

Jomero

Didn't realize until today that Eret was voiced by Jon Snow.

Anonymous

I’m not the biggest animated movie fan but one of the more recent ones I have seen is Moana and honestly can’t watch it enough. At least once a year and some of Disney’s best work. Also curious if you picked up on John Snow’s voice?

Anonymous

Great reaction Nat, would love to see your reaction to Wreck It Ralph if you haven't seen it. It's my favorite animated movie.

This_Jedi_crafts

So glad to revisit this with Nat's reaction. Such a joy!

LordGrailKnight

I would recommend the Netflix series, and the mini series as well, it explains all that happens between movie 1 and 2. and Movie 3 really REALLY does a great job.

G. T. Blackwell

Again, gotta recommend Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. Legit contender for best film of 2018.

Julia

Love HTTYD & love your feel good movie days!!! Always seem to come at a great time (:

Anonymous

Loved the reaction (and all your reactions). Just wanted to add from the end thoughts - 1000% yes to Studio Ghibli reacts on patreon, if that's something you're willing to do

Kris Olo

Can I start a petition to watch Dragonheart once she’s done with this trilogy? Good music, corny fun acting and a heartfelt story. Seems perfect for the channel. Can we make that happen?

Matthew Periolat

And by now, you’ve seen Jon Snow is Eret. Just throwing that out there. Future stuff? Disney is HARD, because you’ve seen so much already. However, my personal top 5 if I had wishes? Fantasia, Moana, Beauty and the Beast, Tarzan and Tangled. That’s top tier Disney animated for me. And guarantee water works for all but Fantasia, especially Beauty and the Beast. If DreamWorks, the list begins and ends with The Prince of Egypt at the top of the food chain. But I’d also push for the Shrek movies, they’re just great fun. Meanwhile, personal preference for original HTTYD, but this was entertaining and enjoyable fun. And yeah, Toothless is just the best p, isn’t he? And even if it’s a trope, it’s always great to see the Healing Power of Love bring down the baddie. Me? Back to watching Dragons until DKR tomorrow. Still Golden.

One of the best animated movies ever, and there's still a sequel in the works out hopefully next year. Seconding Into the Spider-Verse for sure.

Anonymous

Seconding the calls for Moana (Disney) and Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (Sony) I've seen here. I'd also like to add (if you haven't seen them before!) The Emperor's New Groove and Atlantis: The Lost Empire (both Disney) and The Road to El Dorado and Treasure Planet (both DreamWorks). I'm also a big fan of Titan A.E. (Warner Brothers, I believe) which is much more classic science fiction but still also a good acceptance and self-discovery "feel good" movie.

Anonymous

This was exactly what I needed today. After watching the first one last week I’ve been listening to the 3 scores off and on again. I’ll chime in on recommendations for animated. Coco Brave Moana Abominable Raya and the Last Dragon Big Hero 6 The Lego Movie The Iron Giant and absolutely Spider-Man: Into the Spiderverse!

Kris Olo

Dragonheart

Anonymous

Great reaction, love these movies. Also I am in full support of patreon exclusive ghibli reactions

Anonymous

Definitely recommend Coco, Brave, Moana, Dragonheart (not the sequels), there's also another film called Dragonworld that I loved as a kid. It's set in Scotland, too, which makes it all the better for me, hehe. Abominable, Big Hero 6 (which happens to also be Marvel). ALL of the Ghibli movies are great (haven't seen Earwig yet, though, myself)

LionBro

I recommend watching Spy or The Heat. Hilarious comedies staring Melissa McCarthy.

Anonymous

Yo we should watch Avatar.

Anonymous

OK Nat, here's my suggestions for more animated movies: Beowulf - 2007 Hoodwinked - 2005 Sing - 2016 WALL·E - 2008 Spider-Man Into the Spider Verse - 2018 The Incredibles - 2004 Up - 2009 Onward - 2020 (which I haven't seen yet but I hear great things) ...and the granddaddy, big adventure of live action/CGI animation Avatar - 2009.

Mike H

Atlantis is a favorite! My son and I were thrilled to see it on D+ (mind you he's 22 and remembered watching it on VHS)

Mike H

Had never seen the sequels to HTTYD before, really enjoyed watching for the first time with you Natalie.

Anonymous

I don't know if you've watched Beowulf since it released but it has not held up...

Kevin Mowery

My suggestions for more animated are: Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse Up The Incredibles & The Incredibles 2 Tangled Brave The LEGO Movie & The LEGO Movie 2 Coco And I've heard good things about The Mitchells vs. The Machines on Netflix, but haven't seen it yet. And not animated, but very feel-good, there's all the Muppet movies that Disney+ currently has (The Muppet Movie, The Great Muppet Caper, Muppet Treasure Island, Muppet Christmas Carol, The Muppets, Muppets Most Wanted).

Anonymous

Thank you for another awesome reaction Nat. Quick question: Are you still going to react to Avatar: The Last Airbender? (the series, not the movie)

David Olden

Natalie, may I suggest a movie? Quentin Tarantino’s “Once Upon a Time … In Hollywood”? (Full Disclosure: I own it, so I wouldn’t have to depend on streaming services. AND it’s great movie!)

Ben Gilshenan

fun fact nat eret the dragon trapper that turned god is voiced by kit harrington who also plays jon snow

Anonymous

I was wondering who that was! Watching it and trying to guess the voice actor, I thought it sounded like Jason Statham in some parts.

Xenic Mark

Kungfu Panda would be the natural evolution of this reaction. It's DreamWorks, it's fun and light-hearted and has a killer soundtrack.

Ellis Hugh

I can't BELIEVE they spoiled such a major plot point with a freakin' thumbnail. Everybody write you Congressmen!!!!

Anonymous

There's a little How To Train Your Dragon Christmas Special that you should definitely give a watch on your own time (you really don't need a reaction to it), and the reason for giving it a watch is because there's a certain line in the third movie that you're gonna watch that references an important character decision that was made in the Christmas Special which ends up evolving in the third movie.

Ellis Hugh

Animated recommendations: Into the Spiderverse (biggest rec, utterly revolutionary), Wahl-E, Up and Big Hero Six. We also gotta get you through WandaVision and - hopefully - after Game of Thrones we can get you on Stranger Things!!!

Anonymous

I’m gonna watch this back to back with your first part reaction these movies are sooo good glad your checking them out

Malamute

You really should have been watching the tv series between the movies. Theres multiple seasons and would make the timeline make sense to you. As in like multiple single episodes and 6 full seasons before this movie. the viewing order.. https://mapleleafmommy.com/fun/order-watch-dreamworks-dragons-how-to-train-your-dragon/

Opti_Frog

If you ever feel like watching a traditonally animated movie, i recommend Your Name. One of the best films ever made.

Anonymous

I'm pretty sure many people would like you to watch Studio Ghibli's movies. And I'm fine with Patreon exclusive only. Personally I want to see the reaction from Pixar's but only if you haven't watch it or want to rewatch it. You can do a poll you're undecided which animated movie to watch.

Yani Dodge

Fun moment: Hiccup dunks the black sheep into ASTRID's net at the end. I love how Hiccup and Astrid's relationship grew and see how comfortable they are around each other and how much they care and support each other as friends as well as a couple. And of course Toothless and Hiccup are wonderful! You should watch Klaus on Netflix! And I'd watch Studio Ghibli on patreon :) Thank you for reacting to this one, one of my favorite animated movies. Glad you're feeling better, stay golden!

Matthew

If Studio Ghibli gives you trouble, check out the films from Mamoru Hosoda (The Girl Who Leapt Through Time, Wolf Children) and Satoshi Kon (Millenium Actress, Tokyo Godfathers). Like Miyazaki, their talents elevate the medium.

Niklas

Agreed. It's actually my favorite Tarantino movie.

clay

i recomend Into the Spiderverse

Doug Willour

Hey Natalie, great to watch you enjoy this as always. Was busy with work so didn't get to watch this for the week. But in catching up, just pointing out one detail that I loved just in case nobody else did. When Hiccup was showing off his map (about 43 minutes in), you mentioned she did the same thing he did in the last movie (dancing about drawing). More important than that, she was showing him the rest of the map of the world, and just how much more there was to see. It gives Hiccup the chance to realize even with everything amazing he's seen, there's sooo much more out there still.

Doug Willour

Also, if you're looking for anime suggestions, I will always recommend Your Name. Absolutely amazing rollercoaster of a film that is absolutely worth a watch.

Ilsuk Yang

When you predicted Val dying, I thought you had the right idea, just the wrong parent...also, I was always impressed that the filmmaker(s) had the guts to have Hiccup be mad at Toothless, even if it was just for a short time.
