Hey friends!

Here is my reaction to the Season 4 FINALE!! 🎉 This one got me hella emotional.

So excited to hear your thoughts on this one and to jump into the next season soon! Just a heads up, I skipped showing the recap for this one, because HBO max kept loading throughout the recording of it. So this one will start right with the intro.

As always, thanks so much for your support here on Patreon and until the next one, ✨stay golden!✨

Hound Brienne fight is still one of my favorites in the show but I agree it couldve been filmed much better.

Danishprince

And that's a wrap on season 4! Halfway through the show now and what a journey it has been so far! :D

Randee Carreno

Happy Wednesday, Natalie! 😊 WOW! We're at the season 4 finale already. At the halfway point for this series. I'm getting this downloaded right now so that I can watch it later tonight. As I've mentioned, I've only see one episode of season 6. I think it was the season finale episode. And I never would've expected to enjoy this series as much as I have since watching this from the very beginning. Looking forward to watching this reaction this evening. Have a great day today! 😊 Until the next video, Stay Golden! 💛

Tony Johnson

I've been anticipating this episode, well, less anticipating the episode itself and more being confused about which events appear in episode. Now if only HBOMax will stop buffering every few minutes and let me stay in sync with your reaction.

no one expects the Stannis Inquisition

Jomero

I was one of the folks who leaned more towards the "Google Download" option simply because I dislike how much screenspace a browser eats up at the top of its window. But, I just tried the "PopOut for Youtube" extension and it has solved that problem. So, I hereby declare my switching sides to be in favor of the double secret probation hidden youtube link.

Paul Gibbons

LOL but the humour would go right over Stannis;s head, a man of mirth he is not, especially not when.....

Paul Gibbons

I'm in the UK so no HBO so i have to do dvd so no intro but it does seem to play in a faster ratio cause it races ahead of the reaction for some reason.

Ian

Finale day wrapping up season 4 Im expecting some fantastic facial expressions from Nat in this one 🙂 let's get started 🐺💛

Joe Blankenship

Gonna watch this first when I get home, then LOKI!

Anonymous

I'm allergic to my cats and I have 3 ^.^' I totally understand.

Anonymous

One of the most consequential episodes in the series, I’m looking forward to watching on my lunch break

Anonymous

Im allergic to my dog too it sucks.. but I happily suffer for him

Steve J

So many moments in this episode "why did they lead Tyrion up here?!" They didn't, I think he was supposed to go down and out of the city. After Jamie left he got the idea to go up the stairs and confront his father, probably with no plan. So ready for season 5, has the episode that's probably my favorite episode of any TV series

Calo Grsf

Thank you for your reaction 😄 ! So many tears for this episode, the famous moment with the dragons is heartbreaking 😭 I really think you should think about doing a collaboration with a tissue company for all these emotions 😂 Tywin's death is one of the best and funniest of the show haha I can't wait to go further in this journey with you 😀 I hope you're fine with your allergy, Koda is so cute, how can you resist him ? 😆 Take care and stay golden! 💛

Jai Nelson

So ends the best season of television ever! Fear not though, the best episodes of the show are still to come. Strap in for season 5 because it is dark...as...fuck.

Kiera

The Hound was right. There was nowhere for Arya to go, as she'd either be killed or used as another bargaining chip just like Sansa was being used as. Brienne views the world in absolute lines, much like Ned Stark did, and wouldn't have been able to protect Arya from the real dangers that come from blurring such lines.

Ilsuk Yang

So, Tyrion made a detour during his escape. He was never supposed to see Shae or his father. In the books, the scene between him and Jaime actually goes a little differently. Jaime admits to Tyrion that the girl that Tyrion married when he was younger really did love him and that the relationship was real, that Tywin made Jaime lie to Tyrion about his wife being a whore and setting up the scenario so that Tyrion would finally have a woman; Jaime admits that it was all a lie. So, they leave on complicated terms, but the showrunners decided to go against that part of the storyline. Either way, this sequence of events is just heartbreaking for Tyrion!

Vonlinchen

Lord Varys "I've always hated the bells. They ring for horor; a dead king, a city under siege.." Unfortunately the truth of the matter is that Tyrion made Varys a dead man by doing what he did. Varys realised this and took a split-second decision to flee. Such decisive conviction, a testament to his strength & adaptability.

Kevin Anand

Tyrion wasn't led there. He went a different direction than Jaime told him to. He wanted revenge on his father.

John

Jaime didn’t lead him there. When jaime left, he went the opposite way. He intended to kill his father before he left

Brandon

Dramatically speaking, IMO this episode is peak Game of Thrones. The way the writing and directing of the episode captures George RR Martin's portrayal of the deep and long lasting pain of loss in this world never gets better. That's not to mean the show gets bad after this, it's just the dramatic tension never manages to equal this one episode. In terms of action, we haven't hit the peak yet IMO. There's still some truly amazing and suspensfull battles coming and that's all I'll say.

Kevin Anand

Also RIP Tywin, one of the best characters in this show.

Jomero

Watching this, I kept thinking "I could have SWORN the Three Eyed Raven was played by a particular famous actor. Am I misremembering?" Nope. Just another one of those actor-changes this show likes to do so much.

Darryl Low

A lot of tears in this one Nat. Some really beautiful scenes and well-acted moments, and they did a good job of going round all the characters and setting them up for the next part of the journey. I hope you'll do another debrief with Tyler as I look forward to hearing your thoughts on the season. Thanks for a great week of Thrones Nat 💛

Kevin Anand

It's not just complicated. Tyrion absolutely hates Jaime after that point. He even fantasizes about killing him. I don't like how the show whitewashed Tyrion. In the books, Shae didn't try to attack him. He just killed her. But in the show, it's painted as self-defense.

Anonymous

This episode is one of the most epic and emotional episodes in the series if not the most epic and emotional in the series, and I'm a man and even I got emotional throughout the series. The show only gets better and I'm not spoiling shit just have them tissues ready on hand. Looking forward to more of your videos.

Frank Rosales

I think this season was the start of their bigger budget for the show. Also Episode 9 and 10 awhile back was shown in IMAX and boy was that an experience to watch.

Ehrys V.

Can someone remind me what future episode it is that Nat has seen? Sh'es mentioned it a few times.

Thomas Yanez

I could watch Charles Dance act all day. His scenes with Arya are some of my favorite parts of the whole series.

Mr Rys

and so the last good season of GoT ends... imo

My Toasty Toast

I think season 6 had some great moments but as a whole season 4 was probably my favorite

Anonymous

My favorite line from the books. "Lord Tywin Lannister did not, in the end, shit gold."

SmokeAndACoffee

Did anyone mention that the old creepy Grandmaester Pycell was the bad guy in Indian Jones and The Last Crusade? xD

SmokeAndACoffee

a fun/funny bit of trivia: this episode aired on Father's Day 2014 (edited because i was too tired to google it early lol)

Season 4 of Thrones is without a doubt the best tv I've ever watched - by this point you're so invested in all of the characters that almost every moment is captivating, or heart-breaking. Sad to lose Tywin, but the perfect ending for him, too.

Travis Starnes

Something to consider with Arya, the hound was still trying to find someone to sell her too. That, with his killing if the butcher boy, may have made her less sympathetic towards him.

pedantech

Natalie, remember Stannis sentenced Davos to die, but Davos showed him the message from Castle Black about the threat in the north. Melisandre looked into the flames and said that the threat in the north is the true war. She said they would need to keep Davos alive for his part in the war. That's why Stannis brought his army north.

Justin Credible

The Three-Eyed Raven's real name is Brynden Rivers. He was a Targaryen bastard and former Hand of The King and Lord Commander of The Nights Watch.

john collins

Season 5 is CRAZY I can't wait!!!!!!!!!!!!

David

Tyrion didn't go where he was led. That's why he ended up in his father's chambers (they cut to the sigil of the hand when they walk in).

Joseph Phillips

Not saying you have to by any means, but I am sure that the YouTube folks would appreciate this episode as a stand alone reaction. It is a VERY full episode. Great reaction! The Hounds final scene is a killer piece of acting from Rory McCann. Tyrion's performance as he kills Shae, and then his broken soul as he talked with his father was stunning. Tyrion had some great stuff this season. We got some great milestones with Bran, Arya, and Jon, Stannis's army came from the Loan from the Iron Bank as you surmised. They decided that they would not be getting their due from the Lannisters, so they backed their rivals. He came north because Davos showed him the letter that was sent by the Night's Watch right after they found out that the dead were coming back to life. He realized that that was the bigger threat, and moved to wipe that out first.

Ben Gilshenan

as a quick note natalie bran is not in the next season as hes story is too far ahead of the rest so they made him sit it out also this next season is the last one to follow the books

Anonymous

As a fellow pet owner who is allergic to my pets both cats and dogs, I completely understand your pain lol. I gave up on meds and just live with it at this point, make sure I wash my hands everytime I touch either of them lol. This was a wonderful reaction and wish you good health

AC5555

I am so sad since I am ahead of Natalie and am binging a season every few days. I will begin Season 5 today so this is the first time I will not be watching with her reactions to keep me company. 🤣

AC5555

He was my favorite "villain" in the strictest sense of the word. I would love to see Charles Dance play an Imperial in Star Wars. He just channels pragmatism and cold implacability

Anonymous

That was such an amazing episode - it's so hard to pick a favorite, but that has so much packed into it without seeming rushed or superfluous. Plus the reactions from Ms. NG just intensifies everything. KUDOS

Tranquil_Gnome

One of the best episodes of the show! So many good moments. The ending moments of the Hound and Arya! The fight of the Hound and Brienne! Tyrion! Everyone in the episode was on their top game. Nat, glad that you are enjoying it so much despite all the tears. Danny had to lock up the dragons. Even the two who didn't kill any people or kids yet. How different would she have been from the slave masters before her ruling the city if she did not act? How do you reassure the people that it will never happen again? Not like she would ever kill her dragons. So she had to lock them up for the greater good. . . . What did the old Targaryens do when their dragons killed people? Not give a shit. Probably kill the person who brought it up. Especially the early days.

Joe Blankenship

I can't blame her for locking up the dragons. They breathe huge fireballs from the sky. And it's only a matter of time before the other ones accidentally hurt or kill someone. Obviously they're not gonna be in Mereen forever, but dragons are pretty dangerous in a heavily populated area.

navghtivs

This episode was premiered on father's day 2014, good for Tywin.

Alan Kobb

Best episode of the absolutely best season, and that's saying a lot considering that one of the episodes had Joffrey choking to death. The title of the episode is The Children and when you think about it, this is where all of the children really start to break free of the constraints that their parents operated under. - Cersei tells her father where he can shove his marriage. - Tyrion finally puts and end to the father who terrorized him his entire life. - Jaimie ignores both his father and Cersei and does the right thing. - Jon acts like a born leader. - Bran begins his training to become what he was destined to become. - Arya breaks free of the chain of men who have controlled her life ever since she left Winterfell. As far as the dragons are concerned, none of these dragons are named Toothless. They are killers. As Daenerys said in Season 2, they eat meat, and they really aren't picky about what kind of meat. Rhaegal, and Viserion might not have killed the child, but it was probably only a matter of time before they killed also. Dragons are great in war, but in peace they cost a lot. This is what happened to the last of the dragons centuries ago. Many were lost in a civil war (The Dance of Dragons, but you'll hear more about that next season), but the last few were small, stunted creatures. Dany's ancestors were trying to run a kingdom, and they needed to keep the dragons locked up because when the dragons killed people or livestock, their hosts paid for it. Eventually they dragons just withered away, but what were they to do? Let them kill? Tough choice, but if you've got a killer dog, you have to put it in a cage.

Joe Blankenship

Yeah, if you kept a lion as a pet, you couldn’t just let it roam the neighborhood.

darby72

STANNIS! IS! THE! ONE! TRUE! KING!!!!!!!!

mike

crazy how rewatching this season makes me want to watch other shows less. this season truly set a high bar for television.

Daniel Vezina

Season1, Bronn'' Ginger cunts 2 tents down'' That was Tywin Lannister

Michael G. Munz

Nat: "She can't lock away her dragons, these guys have behaved mostly!" Newt: "Mostly."

Anonymous

Thanks for this. Always enjoy the reacts but this episode in particular is arguably the zenith.

Kevin Cleary

Onto the last good season of the series! Valar Morghulis!

Joe D. MacGuffinstuff

This was the banger of a finale that was promised by the LoL. I just had to add, there's that hint of speculation from the parallel literary GoT universe as to whether Tyrion really is the son of Tywin. I've heard that the Mad King had a thing for Joanna Lanister, Tywin's wife, and when he wanted to spend some time with her, as Robert said, the king gets what he wants... You ever notice, they're all blonde, but Tyrion's hair is not quite the same color, could be metaphor alone, but maybe Tywin really hated Tyrion because, even though he never could admit to himself what was obvious about Jaime and Cersei, that suspicion of Tyrion's paternity was where he placed his hatred?

Cripkie

I grew up with cats. Ive always found dogs too needy. Cats respect house hygiene Dogs just make a smelly mess wherever they choose. Dogs are like people tho so I can see the love for em, I guess.

Anonymous

My dogs would die to protect my family, and they poo in the yard

Cripkie

True words. I can tolerate zombies because they still have muscular connective tissue but skeletons, cmon dude. Thats pure magic and I have no tolerance for supersition.

My_Cousin_Mose

They are dragons not kittens. They are gonna kill people, thats literally the job she has planned for them. Locking them up was beyond foolish. She shouldn't have done it regardless but she should have at LEAST conducted an investigation. The dude could have been sent by the masters to trick her.

My_Cousin_Mose

It's just a theory but a good one. Also the Targaryens were prone to having disfigured babies. Not hunchbacks or anything we see but dragon-like monsters...much like the rumors that surrounded Tyrion's birth (and more fitting to his book description).

Robert Rivers

Tyrion wanted to confront his father. He didn't expect to find Shae there.

Ellis Hugh

Being allergic to your own dog is either 1) proof that there is no God or 2) there IS in fact a God and he hates you.

WackySwacky

Congratulations, you have reached the end of good Game of Thrones. Now, welcome to bad Game of Thrones.

WackySwacky

It makes more sense in the books. Jaime and Tyrion have a conversation while escaping that makes Tyrion hate his father x1000 and it makes him turn back and go through a secret doorway into the Hand's Chambers, where he finds that Shae had slept with Tywin. He kills her and then goes and kills his father afterword. Tyrion becomes a dark character after this in the books, but the show completely whitewashes his character because the showrunners knew Tyrion was a fan favorite and they wanted him to still seem like the good Tyrion everyone liked.

Kevin Anand

Tbh, season 4 was the last season to follow the books. Season 5 didn't even try, despite having enough material in the books to do at least 2 more seasons before running out.

WackySwacky

This episode actually makes a lot of cuts from the books that in retrospect completely ruin the show later on. Most notably cutting out a character defining revelation that completely changes Tyrion in the books.

Conzi

Some people are saying this is when the GoT starts getting bad, but I disagree. The main problem is that it's not as consistently well executed. At worst the show goes from an A to varying degrees of a C+ to an A. Some of the best episodes and moments are still to come though in my opinion.

Robjgood

I wish this wasn't so true. Its not all bad after this but it certainly switched from good show with bad moments to a bad show with good moments beyond this season.

Cory Stanish

Well, to answer one question... past Targaryens used to just let their dragons eat peoples' kids, mostly.

Doug Watson

I like how you were trying to figure out the sigil of the banners that came into Mance's camp.

Doug Watson

Gwendolyn's sword fighting scenes are unwatchable

Anonymous

I'm glad you enjoyed a lot of what followed. I can agree that there are some pretty good episodes, but think your grading is awful generous. Season 5 and 6 were mixtures to be sure, but 7 and 8 were just plain awful. The few episodes that seemed like they might redeem the story were immediately followed by such garbage as to ruin the hint of goodwill.

Tadpoleaxe

Do you remember the scorpion in the ball? It had what looked like a human face on it's tail. That was a manticore scorpion. It's venom is one of the nastier poisons in the world of Game of Thrones. The Viper coated his spears with manticore venom. That's what was making the Mountain's flesh rot.

Tadpoleaxe

The next actor to play the three eyed raven is Max Von Sydow. He's very well known.

Anonymous

Dont listen too much to the complainers about the rest of the seasons. The rest of the show is fine even if it changed character quite a bit.

Joe D. MacGuffinstuff

My favorite part of this finale was Arya, when she finally gets the opportunity to leave Westeros and start her own punk band, I mean search for the ultimate girl mentor killer we all know she deserves. When Brienne and the Hound meet at last, I gotta admit, the Hound was my boy, but Brienne earned the win, that fight scene is one of the best I've ever scene on a screen, it was a street fight, relatable to me. And who would have been the better bodyguard? Depends, was the Hound intending on taking Arya North to Jon, her last known surviving sibling? If so, Brienne had the same intent, she's not an idiot, she's very much like the Hound in that she looks at things as a soldier, neither is a knight but they're both soldiers with their own versions of the same warriors code: duty, loyalty, honor, and the courage to physically fight for those ideas and the real people they mean to protect. Anyway, moot point, because ARYA, the badass, took her own destiny in hand. Obviously she's edited her kill list after leaving Sandor to die, but funding her voyage with the silver he stole from that farmer and his daughter. Aw man, I know everyone says season 4 is the best but the show does not diminish afterwards in my opinion, I'm biased towards 5 because that's when I started watching it.

Ellis Hugh

For all people want to complain, its really only the final season that has real issues. Season 7 has some of the most magnificent and dramatic moments of the entire series and there is PLENTY to love between now and then.

Martin Firth

And in my opinion, the issues are only with the writing. The acting, sets, music, cinematography, music, and CGI are A+

Opti_Frog

He apologised. BEST BOYFRIEND EVER

MAFAL

It's funny you cry over the dragons, but the dire wolves have been locked up over and over for the whole show. No big deal, they are just pets, I guess. ;) The Mother of Dragons should have remembered the best line from the whole show, her line: "A dragon is not a slave."

Michael Patrick

This is one of my favorite episodes. Truly a turning point in the overall story.

Anonymous

He never went up the ramp Jamie led him to. He decided to find his father and then found her in his bed.

Anonymous

An afternoon episode of GoT with Natalie and a cup of coffee. Life is good.

Uncle Phoenix

They must be filming the spinoff, or else they wouldn't have recast and reshot the scenes with the Three Eyed Raven. (Originally it was Max Von Sydow, I believe.)

Anonymous

Max von Sydow didn't join the cast until Season 6. At the end of Season 4 it was Struan Rodger. I would assume it is still he you see here? I don't know, I watch these on my blu-Ray discs, so I don't know if HBO would have made any changes to what they are streaming.

William Connery

HBO Max is the shittiest streaming app

Balkyne

Nat frankly I don't care how upsetting the Dragon thing is to you, at the end of the day, one of them killed a child, it's bad optics to allow any of them to be out.

Balkyne

Also the old Targaryens would do no such thing as lock them up, they wouldn't care who they killed. It's what makes the difference between them and Dany, dany cares

Gwenhwyfar Aine

Yes, past Targaryn's locked their dragons up and that''s a big reason why they died. The last one was the size of a cat because they need room to grow.

Michael Short

I had the same reaction to her dragons being locked up. I can handle any amount of violence or death when it comes to humans, but if an animal is locked up against it's will or killed, it destroys me.

Linus Marjeta

Doesn't matter if it was them or the black one, they are dragons, they do pretty much whatever they like eventually, they are wild beasts. While I agree that this is absolutely heartbreaking, there are really no other options. It's like letting a dog wander free in the neighbourhood, it will eventually cause problems too, that's why one puts up fences, have a dog cage or chain them up, because they are still animals and can react agressive if under the wrong circumstance. Past Targaryens had dragon-pits, where dragons were contained to, they were not free to roam around because that is the result if they do, as soon as they go hungry they will hunt on their own. I do hate how they ruined what could've been the best swordfight in GoT by doing quick-cuts, zoom-ins and shaky cam (fight between Hound and Brienne)
