Judging by the thumbnail Nat bought tissues she's learning 😀 as always super excited for this episode have curry pie and beer so all set to go 👍💛

Darryl Low

Tissues in the thumbnail. Oh boy! 😢 Hope you are doing fine Nat. Bringing down that gate is definitely a mammoth task. A real fun reaction, with an emotional wallop at the end. I blame HBO for getting you turned on by all this violence! ha ha Thanks for today's video Nat 💛

Randee Carreno

Happy Tuesday, Natalie! 😊 Downloading this right now to watch tonight. Just realized that the last episode of the is tomorrow's episode already. Looking forward to watching this reaction this evening. And judging by the thumbnail, I'll be sure to have some tissues ready. Have a great day today! 😊 Until the next video, Stay Golden! 💛

The Google Drive upload is missing the picture-in-picture for syncing.

One thing the show left out from the books is the Wildling marriage customs. Basically, if a man wants to marry a woman... he has to go beat up her father and brothers, and possibly even the woman herself if she puts up a fight, as Wildling women tend to do. Once the man does this? Boom, you're married. So, according to Wildling customs, Jon and Ygritte were married from the moment he decided not to kill her and take her as a prisoner back in season 2. They never fully explain it to Jon, but it's strongly implied to the reader. The only time the show really hints at this is when Ygritte tells Jon "I am yours and you are mine" which is a traditional marriage phrase in the show. Knowing this makes Ygritte's death and the "You know nothing" line sting even more.

This is my favourite episode of the series, an absolute high point. It was just masterfully directed and acted, and the stunt and fight performers went above and beyond. It's not the best episode (too action-heavy to really compete with the better dramatic episodes), but as an action episode it is absolutely flawless. There will be bigger battles to come, but none better.

Krystal

I love this episode! and tomorrow's too :) i wonder which episode are you at :) mid season 5 i reckon but maybe further?

Calo Grsf

Thanks Nat for this new great reaction 😄! I loved how you were concerned about the trees, it was adorable 😆 And I like how you finally resign yourself to the sad fate of the characters haha, but despite that you are true to yourself and always full of concern and emotion for them, you are awesome 😄 And Janos Slynt is absolutely useless, I hate him! haha I hope you feel better with your allergy issues, take care, be safe and stay golden! 💛

Martin Firth

Natalie the episode you have seen from the last season is 100% the flashback episode. Don't be confused when people die that you think stay till the end...

Niklas

Olly's name is actually pronounced as "Fuck Olly!".

MakaPeji

Lovely reaction, rip to my big homies the giants.

About Janos Slynt. He was Lord Commander of the City Watch until Tyrion (as acting Hand) sent him to the wall. Despite his semi-military rank, Slynt was never much more than a toll collector. He ordered his men to steal money from anyone trying to enter the city and took a cut. His men also policed the streets of King's Landing where they could bully the commonors to steal even more from the poor. He would do anything for money, which is why Tyrion didn't trust him. In the books, Tywin had ordered Tyrion to get rid of Slynt as one of his first acts. He gained his lofty position because he had a knack for finding powrful men and worming his way into their graces, and once he got to the wall, he did the same with Alliser Thorne. Thorne, at least, is a talented and dedicated warrior, but he was easliy taken in by Slynt and without the Lord Commander to tell him no, he gave him a promotion under his command. Because of his alliegance with Joffrey (who sent plenty of money his way), Slynt hates the Starks and, of course, Jon Snow. Alliser has a different reason for hating the Starks. In Robert's Rebellion, House Thorne stayed loyal to the Targeryan throne. When they were defeated he was given the choice of losing his head or join the Night's Watch, so he pretty much lost everything in that war.

The finale is indeed epic! I assume you've already watched the season 4 finale, but just in case you haven't, I won't spoil anything for you. Either way, I think season 4 episodes 8-10 are the best final 3 episodes of any season!

mike

Scene intensifies: ... Nat: *starts reading the subtitles like Ser Davos* gotta love it!

Tranquil_Gnome

Star-crossed lovers. One of my favorite storylines of the show.

Thomas Yanez

I can never watch Season 4 without binging episodes 8, 9 and 10.

Uncle 'Traveling' Matt

How on earth can there be 18 comments on this video and yet only 1 of them mentions that there's no picture-in-picture to sync the episode?! >:(

Anonymous

Yup. Loaded up the youtube video, listened to her remarks near the end of the intro, guessed there abouts for starting the show based on that.

mike

what I hate about GoT tragedies is they are never out of the blue. They are always things you know are coming. The red flags for the red wedding were there a full season before it happened. Similarly, we knew Jon and Ygrite could never live happily ever after and they knew it too. Ygrite said "if we die we die, but first we'll live". But you keep out a little hope that maybe things won't turn out to be as bad as our worst fears. and then they turn out exactly as bad as our worst fears or even worse that them. that's just extra sad man....

Darryl Low

Most people will be watching the Youtube link. That has the picture as normal.

Jomero

Google video is missing the picture-in-picture. :(

Daniel Restaro

Despite this whole episode technically being a battle, I can't help but think a recurring theme in this episode is the opposite, Love. There's a lingering thought of love & longing that I can't quite place but Maester Aemon's talk with Sam about love is very heartbreaking & bittersweet ☹️ Love is the Death of Duty..& Duty..is the Death of Love..😔

Uncle 'Traveling' Matt

For those of you watching the google video link, the reaction to the episode itself (after recap and intro) starts at 6:13

MertzRocks

Remember Ygritte's last words: You know NOTHING, Jon Snow.

MertzRocks

At this point, the furthest along she would be is the next episode. She doesn't jump ahead like that.

I wasn't able to sync up the videos without your picture in picture... is this a new thing going forward??

Matt O'Keefe

Next episode is my favorite episode of the series. Can't wait!

Anonymous

@foggydave idk if you've heard of awesomevideoplayer but it's really easy to manipulate the timers on multiple videos (it's a free program). based on what she's saying it shouldn't be too hard to get it within a couple seconds just a suggestion

Coojw

In this video: When Jon Snow starts giving commands. Natalie: "IM SO TURNED ON RIGHT NOW" lmao

Travis

I think it’s easy to say that in retrospect but there are probably many examples of the opposite happening where there is a bunch of foreshadowing happening and you think something is going to go one way and it goes another.

pedantech

Nat, whatever you've been up to before filming this episode, keep doing it. You looked so energetic and happy.

AC5555

Are you sad that your favorite character died? :(

AC5555

Agreed. I also noticed that theme straight away, and one of the big quotes I took away from him in that scene: “Nothing makes the past sweeter to visit than the prospect of imminent death.”

Tom Fehr

LOL at the part about mance walking away and talking... my dad does that all the time and im like damn it dad I CANT HEAR YOU WHEN YOU DO THAT

Linus Marjeta

Never understood why you thought Lancel died.. Cersei poked him and he was on the ground screaming in pain, so suddenly he's dead? Wat
