Hey friends!

I know we normally watch a movie together on Mondays, but unfortunately, I had a bad allergic reaction to a treatment on my face that's lingered for the last few days. I don't really want to put myself on camera with the hives/swelling so I'm waiting for everything to go down before I film my reaction to the next HTTYD movie :)

You'll still get two movies and two episodes of Game of Thrones this week tho! The schedule will be as follows:

Tuesday: GOT S4E9

Wednesday: GOT S4E10

Thursday: HTTYD 2

Friday: The Dark Knight Rises

and then next week we'll return to our usual three episodes of GOT.

In the meantime, please help me pick a movie to watch soon. I know none of these really go together theme wise haha. I'm just curious about all of em :) Thanks and stay golden!

Feel better!

Niklas

Please watch "Bumblebee". Definitely a light hearted, feel good kind of movie. :)

Anonymous

Hope u feel better. Consider The Abyss (Special Edition) in the future if you haven’t seen it. :)

Calo Grsf

Hi Nat! No worries! Take care and be safe, stay golden! 💛

Wandavision!!!!

Anonymous

I hope you feel better! I don’t know about the whole Godfather trilogy but the first two are a definite must.

nitind

Leon would be such a trip given who plays the main villain and the trilogy you're wrapping up.

Anonymous

Get well soon. Still looking forward to your reactions to the hobbit - good or bad - one day 😏 I’ve never seen the godfather movies - so no spoilers if you do watch it!

Jai Nelson

The Departed is my FAVORITE movie. It changes every once in a while, but usually it’s my favorite movie.

Anonymous

The Godfather, but only watch the first two.

Darryl Low

My goodness Nattie G, you are having a time of it. Hope you feel better soon. Be well Nat 💛

JediLounger

If you watch Leon, make sure you get the extended cut.

Bryce Hatley

Godfather 1/2 are definitely two of my favorites.

Matthew Periolat

Oh NO! Poor Nat! Feel better and recover! See you in GoT tomorrow!

Aaron Taft

I'm curious about your sense of humour.... Have ya ever watched Monty Python, the Holy Grail?

Mati D.

The Departed is a must watch even if don't win the poll.

Anonymous

Heal up well! Gonna pull for the Godfather~

Chris Gronau

Hope you feel better soon, Nat. The first two Godfather movies are a "must watch", but Leon and The Departed are excellent choices as well.

Stephen Woods

Hope you feel better soon Natalie, This was hard to pick between the Godfather trilogy or Leon.

Saf

Parasite is one of the best movies of the past decade, and definitely deserves a reaction.

This_Jedi_crafts

I've heard amazing things about Parasite - and the trailer was SO well edited - I got anxious just watching the trailer. Looks as though it's behind in the polls - but I have never seen Leon or The Departed so I'm in for either of those, too. I can't stand projects about the Mafia or mob (despite my clearly Italian last name, masked by my avatar "handle." ;D

Anonymous

Hope you feel better soon. No rush this week.

Ian

Get well soon nattie take all the time you need your reactions are worth waiting for so no worries at all 💛 voted Leon, anything but the godfather 🤞

Anonymous

Feel better!

The Golgothan

The first two Godfathers are an absolute must-see, but they're movies you should just sit quietly and watch, and not have to worry about "reacting". The DepAHted on the other hand is a perfect react movie.

Anonymous

Excellent movies, but 100% Parasite! The less you know going in, the better. Feel better soon!

Jeff Smith

Parasite was good but I can’t rewatch an all subtitled movie lol.

Paul Spacone

Hope you feel better very soon Nat.

the continent

The Departed is one of my favorite movies of all time, great Scorsese film. Hope you get well soon, hives are no joke.

Śéáń

Oh damn, Leon, I didn't even think of that as an option. A tier film.

dieselbeast

I voted for the godfather movies but Leon the professional would have been my second choice I'll be excited for both he godfather or Leon the professional!!! 😊😊😊

Anonymous

Feel better! None of the above movie wise lol

Randee Carreno

Hope that you get to feeling better soon, Natalie. Take all of the time you need. Looking forward to this weeks schedule. I've got my vote in for "The Departed". "The Godfather" movies are pretty good as well. 😊 Stay Golden! 💛

Anonymous

Dang, parasite is a phenomenal movie and I would love to see your reaction and thoughts but I've also wanted to see you react to the departed for so long. What a choice to make!

Anonymous

I hope you feel better soon take all the time you need 🤞

Anonymous

You just need a good Quaithe mask: https://ianthomasmalone.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/111912_game_of_thrones_season_3_teaser_video_featured.jpg

MrSafi

None of my choices seem to win the polls :( Oh well. Voted for Parasite regardless.

MertzRocks

😮 I can't believe I have not seen even one of these movies. Where have I BEEN for almost 57 years???? 😮🤣 I went with Godfather trilogy bc at least I know ABOUT those... 😉 Stay Golden 😘

Kristine Friling

Leon: The Professional is so good! I saw it when I was early high school age and was obsessed with it and watched it several times. Just an excellent film.

AC5555

I could ask the same question. However, I only saw Godfather, Departed and Leon last year/this year. So I am behind too. 😂. I knew about Godfather and Leon by name though partly because my Brother is obsessed with both. No worries about Parasite. That only came out recently and I honestly didn't like it as much as most people do.

Brandon Ralphs

Both Parasite and The Departed are MUST SEE films

Obsolyeet

I watched the Professional when it first came out. Can't remember most of what happens, I just remember not liking it at all. I hope to see the Departed win or the Godfather trilogy as a second choice.

WalkingTaako

You can probably skip Godfather Part III, LOL

Anonymous

Parasite for sure, but that's just me.

Anonymous

Man, they are all amazing and you should watch them at some point.

Anonymous

Oh no. I hope you feel better soon!

Anonymous

I never thought I'd ever vote against the Godfather, but I love Leon and I know it's only a matter of time for the Godfather. Not sure how many polls Leon will make it on.

Casen Jamvo

You have Dark Knight Rises here, but what about The Dark Knight?

Jon Hoover

I really want Natalie to do the Fast and Furious franchise, because I love her reaction to car and car chase scenes. It would be so entertaining! I know she's not going to, but I'm going to keep up hope

Anonymous

Leon, The Professional has Gary Oldman once again morphing into another character transparently. The Departed is okay, but a better Scorsese movie is Good Fellas.

Kayla Ryan

Feel better soon! Also can't wait for Thursday!

Allan Rumberger

Apparently enough people want to abuse you by making you watch Leon the Professional. Just a warning: the movie is super, super gross in the way it sexualizes a child, especially in the extended version (because the director is a known creep/pedo). You will hate it, and everyone who is urging you to watch it either hasn't seen it as an adult or is a creep. Sorry, dudes, it's true. That movie is gross and Luc Besson is a rapist and pedophile. He based the relationship between Leon and Mathilda on his own first marriage (he was 31 and his wife was 15 when they got married).

Anonymous

My mood. The film has a lot of cool and stylish elements and it's also fundamentally slimy, which is too bad because Natalie Portman is *super* good in it. There's more purposefully, productively uncomfortable watches out there, and while I think it's unfair to say that other viewership wants to abuse Nat for watching it (this movie isn't thought from this critical angle enough in general), I do think it's a valid consideration to make when considering the work of Luc Besson as an adult.

Anonymous

Not near as good as the first two but I think it's worth a watch, and it has it's moments.

Anonymous

Isn't Leon The Professional the film about a 13 year old girl being in love with a 30 year old man inspired by the actual affair(sexual assault) the director had with an underage girl he got pregnant when he was 33?

Dave A

I voted for Leon. I can't stand The Departed because I saw Infernal Affairs first, which is the much better movie that The Departed ripped off. It's nearly a scene-by-scene copy, and the original is much more enjoyable.

Joel

She already did the Dark Knight last friday

Anonymous

Parasite is an extraordinary movie, absolutely unforgetable. The other movies on this list might get more votes because they're more widely-known (and in English), but really, Parasite is the one to watch.

RebRox65

I up for Leon, haven't seen it in a while, Natalie Portman first major movie, and part of the Gary Oldman’s Period on how bad arse can he in movie, following he's last role it the excellent TRUE ROMANCE. As for THE DEPARTED personally I much prefer the original Infernal Affairs (2002) 1 & 2, Infernal Affairs 2 was absolutely brilliant, it gave me Godfather meets Scarface vibes.

Ken

I like Infernal Affairs better too. But The Departed's a remake not a rip-off. It's like the American versions of The Italian Job and The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo

Anonymous

I agree with Ricky above me. The original Infernal Affairs is one of my favorite, but I wonder how well it translates for English speaking audiences. The Departed is an excellent remake though!

Andy Crawley

The Departed is, in my opinion, an underrated Scorsese film, I think you’d love all the tension building, twists and turns in the story, DiCaprio is so good in it, and you get to see Matt Damon as an absolute asshole! Parasite is an incredible film, Bong Joon Ho thoroughly deserved his Oscar. Yes Luc Besson is very problematic, but you’ve said before that things like that shouldn’t stop you from viewing certain works, and I agree. Leon should be watched, if only for Gary Oldman being absolutely mental, plus if you’ve never seen True Romance his character in that, Drexl, is so unhinged you wouldn’t even realise it’s the same guy!

Anonymous

Leon is one of my favourite movies of the 90s! Bring it on!

Matt Gwinn

I am good with any these except The Godfather trilogy which I've heard are pretty boring.

Anonymous

Doesn't look like it is going to win this poll, but I would absolutely love to see a reaction to parasite. One of the few movies I truly found captivating in recent times. Maybe another week!

Anonymous

I hope you do the Godfather trilogy eventually, I love all 3 movies (yes, even the poorly received Part III.) The first 2 movies are two of the greatest movies ever made. The third doesn't live up to them, but is still a good movie IMO.

Ben

I wish True Romance was on the list! Movie is so underrated; probably because of the title.

Eric Janssen

Second poll where the Godfather is trailing because nobody wants the Trilogy. Leaving the voting down to A) YouTube fans thinking Everyone Has Done It, B) kids who don’t remember it, and C) fans who just don’t want Godfather III. Let’s not let Sofia’s apple spoil the barrel—How about just 1 & 2, and leave 3 to see whether it’s requested on a poll? (And I still can’t improve on doing 1990's “The Freshman” instead of G3.)

Sebastian Serafin

Pls watch the marvel serieses its also in the timeline of the universe

RebRox65

I own all Three movies and I found them to translate really well, but I do own and watch a lot of Hong Kong Martial arts films so maybe I am a little bit biased in my opinion.

Rain andMoonlight

All of these are incredible and worth watching. I voted Leon because it was the movie that made me feel uneasy the most effective. There are parts that feel absolutely skeevy and yet it's still so well-made, and Natalie Portman is incredible in it. I hope you feel better soon!

David Blake

Soon, in the MCU, will be the X-Men. So, why don't you begin to see the movie series from the first one: X-Men (2000)?

David of the North

Went with Parasite. Because If you like it I want you to see more with the director.

Dave M.

Star Wars 7, 8, 9!

Anonymous

Oooh, these are all heavy-hitters.

Max du Coudray

They are slow, but we’d be seeing an edit so that shouldn’t be such an issue.

Tony Johnson

While it doesn't appear to be winning at the moment, I'd suggest a Bong Joon-Ho watch a la your "not intentional" Ridley Scott run -- The Host, Mother, Snowpiercer, Okja, and Parasite.

Anonymous

How is The Godfather not winning?

Anonymous

I believe all of these films should eventually make the cut and I’m sure they will. Given the choice though, I have to go with Leon. Jean Reno’s best performance and Natalie Portman’s first. It’s an early stop on Gary Oldman’s trip to become the greatest villain of the 90’s. Just an all-around fantastic piece of cinema. I hope you enjoy it.

Eric Janssen

Basically, "If you only have to see ONE Luc Besson film about sexy female assassins..."

Marty McGee

I actually have never seen Leon: The Professional either. I've known about it since it came out, but just one of those I never got around to. So, that gets my vote! Hopefully you'll make it to the others too though!

Opti_Frog

This poll is evidence that not enough people have seen Parasite. ^^

Anonymous

I don't have an opinion on this one tbh. Not passionate about any of those

Adrian

It boggles my mind how two of the greatest films of all time came in last.

Anonymous

GoT goes downhill after season 4, I recommend not to watch it.

Kenneth thomas

I love all those movies but The Departed is one of those watch once-a-year movies for me it's so good

Niknok Seyer

I voted for Parasite. :D

ropecrewman36

All of these movies are pure gold!

JayF

Voted for The Professional on this one. My advice, avoid the GF trilogy. It hasn't aged well. Some more suggestions - Dirty Rotten Scoundrels (1988) True Romance (1993) The Name of the Rose (1986) The Untouchables (1987) Field of Dreams (1989) And if you really want a good trilogy - The Hunt for Red October (1990) Patriot Games (1992) A Clear and Present Danger (1994)

The Departed!!

What’s HTTYD?

Anonymous

Guess it’s too much to ask for her to type it out lol. Thanks

Anonymous

Allergies suck. I had an allergic reaction to a hand disinfectant we bought early during the pandemic. Looked like I had second degree burns.

Wally Hartshorn

I recommend watching the theatrical release of "Leon: The Professional". I think that 99% of the time, the first time you watch a movie, it should NOT be a director's cut or an extended version. Often those versions provide additional information, and ARE worth watching in the future. However, the theatrical version is better for watching the first time. The extra stuff in extended versions tends to be "fluff" that isn't necessary, and sometimes actually detracts from the pacing of the film. After all, if the theatrical version wasn't good, they generally wouldn't have bothered releasing an extended version. Lastly, I recommend watching "La Femme Nikita", which features Jean Reno from this movie in a minor role. It's in French with English subtitles, but is absolutely worth watching.

Anonymous

Leon the Professional is yet another entertainment. I personally think that you should balance entertainments with real films like Parasite or the Godfather.

Justin Credible

Never understood why people like Leon. Not really into pedophile love stories.

Travis

Leon is a little problematic for 2021. I’d do the departed.

PaulChristopher

I believe that in this case, the theatrical version refers to the American version, which was just called "The Professional." "Leon: The Professional" was the European version. This movie was written and filmed during a break from The Fifth Element, waiting for Bruce Willis' schedule to clear.

LionBro

Is it possible to do musicals? If so, can you watch Hamilton or the 25th Anniversary Phantom of the Opera film.

Jenny Tolls

Um what? You completely misunderstood the whole movie if that’s what you got out of it lol

Nick Parker

Everything on this list is overrated except for Parasite

Myles Away

I voted for Leon because its a classic but I also suggest watching Parasite soon. Great film.

Salmonero

Well that's not going to happen. Some of the best episodes of the series are after S4.

Salmonero

Get well soon! Hopefully we can get some Denis Villeneuve movies in these polls soon.. Prisoners and Sicario are masterpieces, and I feel like Nat would love Arrival!

Anonymous

Why do people like Leon? It's so immensely boring.

Anonymous

I think the director's cut of the film Leon is the version you should watch. It has it's icky side, but that there is an icky side is kind of the point.

Prof Moff

No the Batman movie 1966. you can laugh at how stupid Batman used to be on TV after watching the Batman trilogy you are watched

Lorenzo Turner

Make sure you rent the extended cut on Prime

Joe Mama

Anything but the pedo movie please

Anonymous

Omg it’s not going to win this one but please keep Parasite in the voting queue for future polls

Anonymous

Casablanca

Anonymous

The depAHted

Vincent Valentin

ahh Leon, i love this movie so much

Tristan Ryan Cox

I just watched Arrival last night. Not bad a little slow but I found the concept similar to Steven Spielberg's Close Encounters of the 3rd Kind. I also really like the song at the end of Arrival. It was used in Shutter Island. However Sicario and sequel as well as Prisoners are masterpieces like you say. Anyway Tata 4 now!

Daniel Vezina

Interview with a Vampire could be an interesting one to watch, if you haven't seen it already. Brad Pitt, Tom Cruise, Kirsten Dunst, Antonio Banderas. Great cast...

MakaPeji

Take care of yourself Nat, no one will be mad at you for that. That Godfather Trilogy though :)

Kevin Townsend

I voted Leon: The Professional. I’d like to see Sling Blade added to your list in the future.

Alex

Departed!

Anonymous

Anyone of these would be great to do eventually. (Full disclosure i voted for godfather. if that does eventually happen I would say watch the new version of godfather 3. it's not great but better than before imo) only note i would add is that Leon is just a weird watch now. I used to love it as a kid. One of fav rentals from Blockbuster and Hollywood Video... but, jeez. You get older and some things just don't feel as good as they used to. Leon is a great movie. Leon is also a creepy movie in a lot of ways. I still think the artistry on display may be worth examining within that context.

Peter Yocum

I have, and it's very good, and it renewed my lifelong desire for labyrinths under my house, but I have trouble imagining enjoying nat's reactions to it. It's not IMO the kind of film that's more fun to see with an audience, it's too cerebral, the kind of film you're meant to see by yourself and think about, not react viscerally to on the spot. Just my opinion though, I could be wrong.

Tony Hart

The Professional, easily. For a Comedy, Innerspace or Black Dynamite

Gilbert Gonzalez

The professional for sure! And you should definitely watch The Equalizer movies, I’d love to see you do reactions to those. They’re “equally :P” balanced with character driven story and action haha

Richard Flores

I don't know what they call this one anymore, but watch the long Leon. The one where the movie is like 25 minutes longer. So much character, acting, story. Just so much beautiful shows of acting skills and personality and dialogue.

Steve J

That a great guilty pleasure movie, Pitt and Cruise at the height of their powers

Anonymous

First Man eventually please

Anonymous

If we're takling about musicals, what about "Dr Horrible's Sing-along Blog"? I know it's web series and not a movie, but... 😉

Tristan Ryan Cox

Awe so close, I mean The Departed would need to catch up by 100 more but wouldn't be funny if there was a tie. Has that ever happened?

Tristan Ryan Cox

The #s went down now. It's still a close call between the professional and the departed

Anonymous

I also think Slingblade would be a great one.

Kris Webb

Godfather Trilogy!

Anonymous

Leon the professional is creepy af. It's has heavy pedophilic undertones and was directed by a guy who was in several relationships with 15-16 year old while he was in his 30s.

Anonymous

The only reason it isn't even worse was that Natalie Portman's parents stepped in and made it Besson tone it down. Seriously squicky film through and through, like its director.

Justin Credible

I can't believe the pedophile apologist movie won. People are so weird.

Justin S.

Leon: The Professional features a great performance from Gary Oldman as the villain. Natalie Portman is very good as well but there are some scenes that many will find uncomfortable. I think it's overrated but a good movie definitely worth a watch. Speed, True Lies, and The Crow are other action pictures that came out the same year (1994) that are better and more entertaining in my opinion. Definitely need to watch them at some point!

Justin S.

Definitely agree there. There are many entertaining action pictures from the 80s and 90s that Nat hasn't seen yet. I hope she returns to the Lethal Weapon series because I think she will enjoy the sequels more than the first one.

Logan Kerlee

Growing up, I really enjoyed all of the movies that you listed. I also really enjoyed Leon: The Professional though. It's a good flick! I'm very much hoping that we all get to watch The Crow together. That one's a 90's staple in my book! Without that many comic book movies today may not be a thing.

Reece Hart

I didn't think Parasite would win but at least we tried lol

Joits

Will be interesting to see how much of the more controversial parts of this movie will affect her.

Anonymous

Gosh you've seen so many of the best and notable movies and trilogies already. There are still some greats still to be seen, but only if they're your first reaction. Those are the best. There's still Blade Runner 2049, Mad Max: Fury Road, Terminator (1 and 2 only), Star Trek, and even Lethal Weapon 2 was the best of the series.

Anonymous

Seconding Mad Max: Fury Road, it's my all-time favourite and I'd love to see a reaction for it!

Jeff Mills

"The Godfather" trilogy is my vote, but "The Professional" is a great movie.

Anonymous

Leon is good, but has some creepy under tones. I voted for Departed (even though I don't care for Nicholson in this role)

Anonymous

As GF will likely never get enough votes - I m all in for Léon 👍

Danny Miller

Unsurprisingly, The Godfather Trilogy doesn’t get the respect it deserves. The first two movies are far better than any other movie from the poll.

Logan Kerlee

I'm happy with how this poll went. I went ahead and rewatched Leon: The Professional the other day and super enjoyed it. I'm sure that you will too Natalie whenever you decide to give it a go. I'm honestly shocked that The Departed didn't come out on top for this! I watched that last night with a group of friends through Discord.

Anonymous

Please can you watch the Loki series alongside us as it comes out since you are all caught up storywise on MCU and he is your self professed favorite character?

Anonymous

So far, this poll is going as it should.

Kris Olo

I know this poll is over and Leon won. I’ve never seen it nor do I care to after reading the comments on that post. Anyway, for what it’s worth, the Departed would have been great and I’m sad we didn’t get a reaction to that one. Hopefully it’ll be back in a poll soon.
