yaaaasss! Been particularly excited for this one when you said you weren't sure what to expect at all during your Civil War reaction.

Darryl Low

The Doctor will see us now. Thanks Nat 💛 The score for this one was done by Michael Giacchino, and he also wrote the new Marvel intro music too. Great to get a Koda cameo. I loved your laugh when his cloak collar was messing with him 😃 There's 2 end credit scenes that you may have missed. Catch them next time. No need to hire Gremlin Nat again. Your pal Corey certainly has a gift, and a great sound. Look forward to hearing more when you post the YT edit.

TrackHoodie

My basic start to my mornings. Wake up at 5 AM PST. Do some errands and prep for my work day from home. Wait for Natalie to upload a new reaction. Download the video. Cook breakfast. Then eat and watch along!

Tiger Chu

Eggs Benedict Cucumber Cabbage Patch...........sorry I had to do it

Andy Jordan

A great start to Mondays. Getting ready to cue up my copy shortly. I believe today's drink will be milk and the snack will be Annie's Cheddar Squares. Thanks again for your hard work and the smiles you give, as always. Cheers!

Valar Dohaeris

How an I going to start my mondays when the MCU is over? No way, I'll have to work!

Ian

What's this thing called work getting in the way of watching 😀 looking forward to this one later 💛

DaMarkiM

Yes! New release :)

Anonymous

Cant wait for this one!

JediLounger

It is Rachel McAdams. Another great movie you should watch with her is Red Eye. She kicks major ass in that film. And yes that is Chiwetel Ejiofor, the bad guy from Serenity. The Ancient One is Tilda Swinton, though it’s hard to see without hair.

Anonymous

Woohoo! Marvel Monday!

Acash33

Love this movie great casting as well. Dr. Strange was mentioned in winter soldier too has a quick hint.

Ken - Kendo161

Hi Natalie I'm wondering do you also make a regular watch version ofyour reactions? I don't mind if you don't have the time for two edits. Just curious, cute hiccup BTW LOL

Timten

Dude literally decapitates someone... secondary Dr who isn’t as good “Yeah he probably the villain”

Anonymous

Aww, you missed the post-credit scenes. Hopefully you will add them to the youtube version. BTW, there are two of them at the end of this.

Anonymous

The mid credit scenes will give you an indication of what future movies doctor strange [might] turn up in. 😉 War machine being shot down during civil war gets a quick mention during the phone call before the car crash. Great content, as always Nat.

Anonymous

I believe you forgot the mid and after credit scenes ;)

BNJ

aww man you didn't watch the end credits

Jayson Phillips

you forgot the end credits scenes? Also Dr. Strange can fix his hands but he doesn't want to because it reminds him of why he became the Sorcerer Supreme. If his hands were fixed he would be tempted to go back to his old life.

Anonymous

It occurred to me today that you should watch the Team Thor shorts that explain what Thor was up to during Civil War. Part 1 came out with Civil War, Part 2 with Doctor Strange, and Part 3 with Thor Ragnarok. Edited edit: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cb24kGrE1l4

Anonymous

You forgot the end credit scenes 😜

Randee Carreno

Happy Marvel Monday!!! 😊 This movie took me a couple of times watching it before I really got into it. And now the more I watch it, the more I enjoy this movie. "Tripy" is definitely a the best word to describe this movie. I love all of the visual effects during some of those scenes. Chiwetel Ejiofor is a great actor. I highly recommend the movie "The Martian" that he's in. And I love Tilda Swindon as The Ancient One. Wong is a character from the comics. And Benedict Wong is also in the movie "The Martian" with Chiwetel Ejiofor. Loved the music that you played at the beginning and the end of this video. 😊 And you forgot the mid and post credit scenes. Next up, a super fun movie: "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2". Until the next video, Stay Golden! 💛

Calo Grsf

I liked your reaction, and your friend's music is really good 😄, I'll go check it out haha But it's a pity you missed the post-credit scene, you would have really appreciated it haha, but I guess it's become a tradition to have it at the beginning of the next movie 😂 Stay Golden!

Colt 1983

And she forgot to watch till the end again :D

Ian Forbes

For a fantastic film with Chiwetel, try Children of Men. He’s a supporting character but as always, he’s great in it. Clive Owen is the lead and there are other amazing actors in it ... it’s one of those movies where the less you know the better. It is directed by Alfonso Cuaron, if that helps solidify the choice. 😀

Andrew Dickinson

watches film, comes back to Patreon to see how many comments there are about forgetting the first Rule of Marvel...always watch the end credits...

swoop_13-37

God I love this one. Pardon my french but. It's like being mind fucked in a kaleidoscope.

Anonymous

Nat these are great! Hey maybe consider just watching the first section of end titles on these flicks - I work as a title designer and Marvel does really nice work! The animated bits before the last scene and credits crawl are a lot of fun and you can totally talk over them while ya wait for the tag. Cheers!

TrackHoodie

Oh no Nattie made an OOpsie! Somebody got too excited about the movie and forgot about the amazing after credit scene(s) :)

Anonymous

One thing you ALMOST realised was that the injured colonel in the experimental armour was Rhodie - War Machine! It's talking about his injury in Civil War.

Thomas Malley

You forgot the end credit scene.

swoop_13-37

Yes. Yes he is the guy from serenity.

Kevin Maguire

Missed a great post credits scene.

Anonymous

Did you miss the post credits? I was only listening but by your reaction it seems like you missed it.

SebastianTheCourtious

Great reaction Nat! you missed the end credit scene tho :)

Anonymous

A random memory/thought ran through my head- you NEED to watch A Knight’s Tale, if you haven’t already! Since you are working through the MCU, have watched Firefly, and started GoT (and not sure if you’ve seen the Dark Knight, but I’m assuming no?)- you will appreciate so many cast members and LOVE seeing them play off one another when they were all so much younger Side note: one of the best screen grabs I’ve seen floating around for it- https://images.app.goo.gl/VAzmvKvrjDmKdLM76

Anonymous

Excuse me Miss Gold, this is the Marvel police. You are hereby arrested for your violation of the first rule of the MCU: Always watch out for the ending credit scenes!

Curaitis

Officer, arrest her. I was shocked by her violent act of ending the Movie without the end credit scenes.

Opti_Frog

I really, really like Doctor Strange, but every time i see it i feel like something is just a little bit off. It might be that this movie really teeters on the edge of exposition overload. There is so little plot and so much explaining. Still, it's tons of fun and BC is as perfectly cast as Stephen Strange as RDJ was Tony Stark.

Navjot Singh

That link is not legal. Please remove. Team Thor shorts are available on Youtube.

Brandon Scott

Fun fact: That scene where Christine was startled by the falling mop in the janitors closet was kept secret from her. They didn't tell her the the mop was going to fall in order to get a genuine response when it crashed down. So that shout and jump was real. lol Also, These were perhaps the most consequential post credit scenes we've had so far in the MCU (particularly the second one) and you missed them...

Brandon Scott

Oh, yeah. And the soldier who injured his back in "experimental armor" that was spoken of on the phone during Strange's drive at the beginning of the movie was War Machine (Rhodey) after he got shot down by Vision in Civil War.

Rime Pendragon

She keeps forgetting the mid- and after-credits scenes :-)

Rime Pendragon

Nope . https://www.cinemablend.com/news/1582039/that-doctor-strange-civil-war-reference-isnt-what-you-think-it-is https://cosmicbook.news/content/no-war-machine-easter-egg-doctor-strange-says-scott-derrickson

Coojw

Did you forget to watch the end credit scenes in the marvel movies? I didn't see you watch the end credit scene on Doctor Strange

Tranquil_Gnome

Nat, you missed the mid credits and post credits scenes. Another fun watch-along. Loving Marvel Mondays. I think you'll really like this next set of Marvel movies. They learned some important lessons from Iron Man 2, Thor 2 and Avengers 2 which shows in this next group of movies. Enjoy!

Anonymous

Yep - Wong is the characters name in the comics, the actor's name is just a coincidence.

Ian

yep nat thats an infinity stone the time stone to be exact who needs a flux capacitor right 🙂this movie sure was a magic mushroom ride i really enjoyed watching along with you oh and yep that cloak is awesome 💛

Anonymous

I'm going to be "that guy" and mention a fun easter egg that made all fans gasp in theater: when Mordo mentions the name of his relic: The "Staff of the Living Tribunal". The Living tribunal is a character (if you will) in Marvel extremely powerful (We are talking omnipotent / omniscient throughout the multiverse at the same time. A power level the MCU hasn't even come close to explore.) This cosmic entity existed long before the universe was born and its job is to safeguard the multiverse from an imbalance of mystical forces. (Prevent a universe from amassing too much power or evilness)!

Anonymous

I had that same thought when I first noticed that but I had a problem with the line because he’s described as a thirty-five year old man. Cheadle is a great actor, I’ve been enjoying his performances since Boogie Nights, but he was in his early fifties in Civil War. Plus the War Machine armor isn’t really experimental by this point. I had mentioned as much on Facebook and a friend of mine pointed out that in Iron Man 2 one of Justin Hammer’s armor suits malfunctioned and twisted around most likely breaking the pilot’s spine. He thinks the reference was about that character.

Anonymous

Not sure if you cut it out, but there are some really good credits and post credits scenes that tie into the MCU as a while as well as the follow up, Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness. Definitely worth going back and watching. Loved the reaction though, I had a blast watching this the first time and just as much fun watching along again. Can't wait for the next installment in the MCU!

Anonymous

Do you think the casting was down to two or three people and they went "Well we have to cast the guy named Benedict Wong"

Anonymous

It was so cute how earnestly proud you were when Dr. Strange was just making tiny sparks. Also I've been waiting to see your reaction to the car crash since you yelled at Tony for driving too fast way back in Iron Man 1

Tay Schumaker

Sometimes I think you get too caught up in reacting to notice some things. Like the reason the time stopped at the end.

Anonymous

Oh no! Natalie forgot to stay through the credit again :)

Anonymous

Nooo, the end credits scenes again hahaha I guess we'll see the reaction in Guardians 2

Colby Cordner

Hey so I love your reactions, but sometimes I don't want to watch the full movie so it would help if you could add like a timer in the corner so I could skip to the scenes I'm interested in. Just a suggestion, thanks regardless.

Thomas Malley

I wanna see the hand shaking be brought back in a later movie, just so we know his character is still that of humility.

Joseph Carriker

Honestly, I appreciate that a character who starts the movie disabled also ends the movie that way, as you mentioned. It's a refreshing departure from normal narratives like that.

Christopher Boscarino

Of course the Operative from Serenity is in this. That guy has screen presence.

Anonymous

You forgot about the end credit scene.....AGAIN!!! lol :) (There are 2 of them btw)

Starromania72

Intersection with the Holmesian Multiverse! Benny C is noted for his depiction of Sherlock, while Rachel played Irene Adler opposite Rob Downey Jr's Great Detective. Thus far, we've already seen one Watson (Martin Freeman in Civil War) and another may be on their way... although the sheer number of MCU movies makes this outcome much more likely.

VidKris

Yes! My favourite mcu character!

George Baxter

I did miss those post-credit scenes... great reaction, you really appreciate the characterisation. And I am also a huge House MD fan!

john collins

Loved this reaction and especially your overview at the end. I think what makes marvel movies so amazing is they really do a great job of showing the humanity within their super heroes. As you mentioned strange needed to be brought down a peg as well as tony and in iron man 3 we see even though he is iron man tony is still just a man. In the same way we see strange who is considered a revolutionary doctor lose his most precious tools and struggle to find new purpose. While none of us watching are very super, the marvel franchise does a great job of showing us pieces of ourselves within their heroes. Possibly in hopes to inspire the viewer to reach for something greater than themselves.

Lisa Tosti

This was so great and I'm so glad you liked it Nat! but I'm so bummed that you didn't show your reaction to the post credits! The first one in this movie is one of my FAVORITES!!!!

Ron K

Ok I think like 80% of the comments are that you missed the end credit but didn't notice if anyone mentioned that these are not like the one at the end of Age of Ultron. In my opinion worth checking out.

Danishprince

It sets up the villian for the next Doctor Strange movie (potentially) which I find much more important than just a 5 second clip of Thanos showing himself, a villain we had already seen several times at that point

THE LORE!!!

Of all the post credit scenes to skip! Nat! 😂😂

Ron K

I'm worried the 30+comments about Nat missing the mid/post credit scenes are going to give Nat a complex. I'm pretty sure she's figured it out by now.

Endling_king

Gah, trying to download the reaction and its telling me "drive.google.com" guess ill have to wait a few hours and try again

Starromania72

Lotta Easter eggs in this one. Mordo mentions the Wand of Watoomb as one of a number of magic relics - and this is the relic Wong grabs before heading to Hong Kong. The relic Stephen threatens Kaecilius with in the NY sanctum - which looks kinda like a sports trophy, and Kaecilius says "you don't know what that is, do you?" - looks a lot like the Evil Eye of Avalon. Avalon as in Arthur, Merlin, etc. (Lots of different mythologies absorbed into Marveldom besides the Norse) Even the guardian of NY sanctum murdered by Kaecilius' crew, Daniel Drumm, is an Easter egg and possibly means we may see his more famous brother Jericho in Dr Strange 2.

Kevin Mowery

I hope she remembers to sit through all the end-credit scenes in Guardians volume 2. I'm pretty sure that film has more endings than Return of the King.

Ron K

Nat when you get to Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 2 you've got 5 credit scenes.

Darryl Low

Nattie is going to put the end credits scenes up for us on Patreon this week, so keep a look out for them.

kikoyito

"I like seeing Tony with mental issues" - Nat XD

Anonymous

Welp, woke up too late and I cannot download it or stream it :(

Anonymous

Fun fact: Before Strange crashes his car, he's talking on the phone about potential patients. The first patient that's mentioned, the war colonel. That's Col. Rhodes/War Machine. Fun little easter egg.

Joe Blankenship

Maybe I missed it the first time or just forgot, but based on the 2nd credits scene, I’m guessing Mordo is going to return in a future movie? Assuming it’s Dr. Strange 2.

panacamanana

He was confirmed to be apart of the cast during their big investors day.

Steve J

She puts the embedded video on an unlisted youtube link which is the easiest way to watch now imo, Nothing to download and no bandwidth/download limit to run out.

Michael Rockenfelder

Huh. I always figured it was that guy in the Justin Hammer armor during Iron Man 2 that basically did a 180 with his spine.

Andrew Dickinson

There's Galaxy 2, Spiderman, and Black Panther before any of those.

Brian Leonard

There is something I want to say about the Infinity Stones, but I don't know if it would be considered a spoiler or not.

Alan Kobb

Awwww. Missed the mid-credit and end-credit scenes. Otherwise, it was a great time! Chiwetel Ejiofor was also in The Martian, and I'm sure that plenty of your patrons would like you to react to that!

Matthew Periolat

Let’s see... how many comments about the credit tags? Wow, that many? She’ll get it in the editing suite, all will be well and we get Gremlin Nat back to cameo. All good. I gotta thank Nat for the fresh take! I always liked Dr. Strange, but I was impatient for more world building in the MCU. You forget to take time for a character in its own right. Nat’s absolute horror and almost glee at his fall showed that characters like him and Tony work on redemptive arcs. And Dr. Strange is a good one. Will he be back? Mayyyyyyyybe. 🙂 Still Golden! See ya next time!

Troy B.

A good rule of thumb is, if you're not sure if something's a spoiler, then it probably is.

Troy B.

Before these reaction videos, I had never realized how many of the two dozen-ish MCU movies I had either not finish or glossed over. My first viewing of this movie, I had on in the background one afternoon; I was initially fascinated but lost some interest during Strange's Mirror Dimension fight. For some reason my suspension of disbelief strains during those segments. It's like Inception on acid. But I'm glad I stuck with it to watch the full reaction (and related movie). AND I got to see [redacted] in the credits, so that was a nice bonus.

Danny Miller

Glad you liked the movie so much, because a lot of people didn’t like it (a great many people that I spoke with), because it wasn’t the “typical” Marvel movie, and as you remarked multiple times “trippy”. They wanted more of the same, and didn’t really like how different of a character Dr. Strange is and didn’t have the characters people were used to. They really did a great job with his origin story, because he was a tremendously egotistical asshole in the comics, and it made his fall so much more devastating to me. He definitely opens up so much of the Marvel multiverse now that he’s been introduced.

Lisa Tosti

Jude Law (other Watson) definitely shows up in future marvel movies

Sean

I love that Nat supposed there would be time travel because of a tenuous Doctor Who connection. 😂

darby72

I really don't mean this as a complaint, but I don't understand how you can consistently forget the mid/post credit scenes. Pretty much every reactor I watch and real person I know are so indoctrinated into it that they are constantly looking to see if there is an end credit scene on every movie they watch, even when it seems highly unlikely that there will be one. For myself, I was always in the habit of watching to the end of the credits of movies anyways, mostly to listen to the music and bathe in the feel of the movie I just watched before rushing into the next thing. Maybe you need to put a sticky note up in the room you watch the movies in and keep it there permanently to remind you.

acidnova

Chiwetel Ejiofor is fun in Inside Man. Fun movie!

Texas Anla'Shok

I just realized, for some reason it never clicked that they were talking about Rhodes! Air Force colonel in experimental armor!

Misty Crom

As is Benedict Wong, Sebastian Stan and another MCU actor I shan't name as they appear in Spiderman: Homecoming.

Richard Ryan

Of all the Marvel movies' end-credits scenes to miss, I'm kinda jealous Nat seems to have missed this one... 😭 & 🤬 Mordo!!

Loneavenger96

I love reliving these movies through others. It feels like time traveling back to when I first saw them in theaters. Much appreciation look forward to the next MCU reaction.

John Graziano

I came back from a severe back injury and watching that final end credit scene is always rough. First time I was glad Nat forgot.

Obsolyeet

When watching Marvel movies (and Wandavision) always be sure to check for mid or after credits scenes. There's nearly always one. Some may just include humor but others are quite important to character development or advancing the Endgame story. Dr. Strange has such a scene with Thor.

Anonymous

Natalie the end credit scenes :'(

Anonymous

Awesome reaction😁 If you love Chiwetel Ejiofor, 2 movies you might wanna check out are Kinky Boots and Four Brothers. One he plays a despicable crime lord and the other he plays a flamboyant drag queen. And he made me believe he could really be both. Great performances

thescourge

Nat you are awesome and your thoughts etc are great content but OMG you have to stop talking through the dialog scenes. And then ending with “Wait, what happened? I’m confused!” I know the action scenes are loud but you have to trust that we have the volumes set so we can hear you and talk through them instead. And yeah even then it’s going to be hard to do reactions because for all every hipster on the planet complains about these movies being “dumb action flicks” they actually have important dialog right in the middle of the action too. I don’t envy you the task of finding space in there to share your thoughts but when the sound quietens down and you can finally hear yourself think is, unfortunately and counterintuitively, not the time with these movies. Once again, you’re awesome. Cheers

Rime Pendragon

They are NOT talking about Rhodes. This has been confirmed by Scott Derrickson and Kevin Feige.

Anonymous

...Nat!!!....Post credit scene....

Opti_Frog

Or, she could do her reactions how she damn well pleases.

Steve J

Nats initial reaction to the character was so averse, I almost thought they had made Dr. Strange unredeemable in her eyes. They definitely push him way further down the a-hole scale compared to Tony. Tony is kind of a fun jerk, they set up Dr. Strange as a mean jerk. Wonder if they'll explore more of that in Dr. S 2 or if the plot will just be him out adventuring. Hopefully the former.

Chuck

Credit scenes.....credit scenes....credit scenes. I know you are aware now, I just decided that I'll keep commenting this in every Marvel reaction until it becomes normal for you lol....Marvel movies don't end until the credits are completely over. I'm suuuuuure you'll get it next time...on time lmao

Tiger Chu

i really hope you don't forget the end credit scene for End Game

Anthony Campbell

I really wanted her to see the post credit scenes

This_Jedi_crafts

Didn't get a chance to post yesterday (after watching) but just had to say - when I first saw Doctor Strange, I wasn't thrilled (thought he's one of my favorite characters in the MCU - I know, odd)! But watching with someone who hasn't seen it yet, really helped me take a step back and enjoy the true "journey." So "thanks" Nat - for helping me see something in a different, more positive light!

Anonymous

Hate to beat a dead horse, but Natalie post movie credit scenes LOL. Every Marvel movie has them.

Byron

So, aside from... you know... you were SO on point for this movie... A medical doctor, check; psychic, close enough; time travel, check; upset about taking life because he’s a doctor, check. You just kept calling it over and over! What I love best about this story is that he resolves it using intellect rather than punching. That’s the side of sorcery that I prefer... like Merlin and Gandalf and Ged (Earthsea saga by Ursula LeGuin... short, amazing, super insightful)... where it isn’t about the magic itself but in how and when it is wielded, and it requires wisdom and intellect and restraint... not just brute force. Love it!!!

Jordan Freemyer

One thing I don't remember noticing in this before this viewing is that when Strange is driving and hearing the possible patients, the first one, the retired Air Force colonel injured testing experimental armor, is WAR MACHINE! They were trying to get him to help War Machine! Sorry, just thought that was cool.

Gaz Eddy AKA Prune Tracy

For more great movies featuring Chiwetel Ejiofor, try Children of Men, Inside Man and The Martian.

Vincent Valentin

i think just giving it a 2nd watch helps a lot, its grown on me more every time i watched it.

Myles Away

My hunch is it is actually the soldier in Iron Man 2 that is twisted around in Justin Hammer's experimental armour. It's hard to consider War Machines suit "experimental" by Civil War. Also, that would line up with the timeline more as well. Gives Strange a bit more time to learn the mystic arts.

Edward Olson

What's more annoying than Natalie forgetting to watch the end credits scenes? 100 people not looking before posting that same fact over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and...

mrhalfbit

Gotta be honest, I REALLY really found the music underneath your intro and outro talk to be extremely distracting when I just want to be chill relaxing an listening to you talk. Maybe if it were a slower and more relaxed song it might work better, and quieter? All in all I think its unneeded. Just my 2 cents. Thanks as always for Nat, you've made quarantine 1000% better. Edit: I get that you are supporting your friend with the music, and that’s really cool tbh, but it’s hard to hear and pay attention to with bumping music in the background.

Anonymous

And Locked Down and Red Belt where he displays more of his martial arts skill.

RebRox65

Hey Natalie, you was saying how much your enjoying Chiwetelu Ejiofor work, then I highly recommend seeing him in a completely different role based on a true story the movie is called KINKY BOOTS and it’s really funny and tragic and this isn’t my kind of movie, but enjoyed every minute of this film and I think you would to and just as an incentive it’s also Has Nick Frost in it.

Doug Watson

I like your intro music.

Doug Watson

Somebody send this girl a picture of Stan Lee, she somehow still doesn't know what he looks like.

Joseph C Gdaniec

In case you missed it , when Strange is getting cases over the phone before he crashes, the first one mentioned: guy injured in experimental armor was referencing Rhodey from the end of Civil War

Cory Silver

So much to say about this movie. I feel like it was ahead of its time in so many ways. We were focused on Thanos, and here this was setting up the multiverse in 2016. So many things to say. First, his watch. Strange was willing to get his ass kicked, just to protect the watch, it was important because it was a gift. At the end of the movie, the watch is still broken, even though Strange could just, rewind it and fix it. I think there's significance in that. Doctor Strange was created in the 60's, by the same team that invented Spider-Man. Stan Lee, and Steve Ditko created them. Most of the others were Stan Lee and Jack Kirby. Then Jack Kirby alone created the Eternals, which will come up later... Anyway, there's a lot of setting up the multiverse here. Drawing power from other universes. What universes? Where does the power they use to cast their spells come from? Who is aware of the Ancient One's death in other parts of the multiverse? Could that be impacting things? The art in some of the classic stories, with the other realms and such, pretty good stuff. https://img.wallpapersafari.com/desktop/800/450/7/89/Fihtrw.jpeg Here's a cool article. https://www.denofgeek.com/comics/the-doctor-strange-and-pink-floyd-connection/ I can say that he was a member of the "Defenders" and not the "Avengers". The Defenders were another group, founded by Dr. Strange, The Hulk, and Namor the Sub-Mariner, who was pretty important in the comics but has yet to show up in the movies, because of licensing issues. Other members were Clea (A companion of Dr. Strange), Silver Surfer (Another pretty important guy, who's only been in that terrible Fantastic Four sequel.) Valkyrie (She was in Thor 3), Hawkeye, and Hank Pym. Anyway, I don't have much trivia, Dr. Strange is still on my "to read" list.
