Woo hoo!

Gath Bard

Mandalorian release was one episode a week, hence the recaps.

Hey I know this is off-topic, but since you’re done with Firefly (besides Serenity), and if you’re looking for a new show to watch, I would recommend The Haunting of Hill House, if you haven’t watched it yet. I know horror isn’t your favorite, but it’s a series that goes way beyond horror in its emotional complexity. You’ll cry. Not like Schindler’s List crying, but still

Hooray! This is the way! Mando, Mando!

The Power Rangers! You never fail to make us smile Nat. Was that an airplane flying over, ruining your audio?? This episode was directed by Bryce Dallas Howard, daughter of Ron Howard. As a homage to her dad's movie Apollo 13, she did a couple of shots identical to those in that movie. Another fun reaction Nat. Thanks.

Ah, the game’s afoot with familiar faces and names. Loved the react, of course. You already know there is more out there if you are curious, so I’ll spare you. But, yeah, this one felt QUICK! I’d need to check time stamps, but this might be the shortest episode to date. Guess after the spiders and frogs, it was time to move the story along. More to come and I cannot wait for next time.

The Mandolorians were more explored in the CloneWars and Rebels Animated series.

It Hurt A Lot

Just so you know, Ahsoka Tano was a padawan of Anakin during the Clone Wars and a big part of that series. So, Star Wars fans were giddy at the mention of her to say the least.

Yes! This is one of the episodes that I've been waiting for you to react to. Bo Katan, and the history of the Mandalorians is explored in both the "Clone Wars" and "Rebels" animated series. Both on Disney+. And Fun Fact: Katee Sackhoff who plays Bo Katan is also her voice actress in both "Clone Wars" and "Rebels". I always figured that Baby Yoda was playing with the little frog at the end when Mando came back to get him. I'll probably end up watching this one again before it's put on YouTubee since this is one of my favorite episodes, and since I loved your reaction. 😊 Until the next video, This Is The Way & Stay Golden! 💛

Sean

I love this episode. Bo Katan returns and the Razor Crest becomes a jalopy. 🤣

Ian

as always fabulous reaction nat " you don't need it you,ve got the power rangers " you say the funniest things :) and you sure make me laugh a lot haha

Prof Moff

I love that you are not up on all the Star Wars series and characters from all the different areas. It is great to see someone actually just enjoying this series as a stand alone series with really only the 6 movies to go by. I hope you don't get spoilers from people trying to "help" you understand all the little extras in the series.

Thanks for yet another entertaining reaction Natalie!!! You never disappoint with your witty commentary. Power ranger crew lol. Love it.

Clone Wars...

Big a fan as I am a bigger one will have to say when Mandalorians were invented. I first saw them in the Clone Wars animated series. But even if they had come out earlier I figure they still wouldn't have been in episodes 4-6 as they were more about Mandalore and not so much about The Rebellion. Usually I prefer reacters that have seen more Star Wars because they got way more excited when they first saw the painted helmet of Bo-Katan and when Ahsoka was mentioned but of course I'll watch Nat. When she changed the deal and said "This is the way", she was kinda mocking him, but clearly said it respectfully when she said it near the end. Lol, Power Rangers! I'd like to talk more about that but it'll have to wait. "Are pieces falling off my gorram ship?"

Kevin Mowery

The idea of a people called Mandalorians is as old as Boba Fett's armor. A cousin of mine had a book of concept art from The Empire Strikes Back which describes Boba Fett's armor as being old Mandalorian supercommando armor. But the development of Mandalorians as a culture I don't think started in earnest until the Knights of the Old Republic video games. Regardless, when Disney took over, they said that all of the old EU continuity (the books, comics, video games, etc.) was being thrown out except for the actual movies and The Clone Wars cartoon, which had developed the Mandalorian culture more, and sometimes in ways that contradicted some novels that had been written. So they actually simplified things a lot. (The idea that Mando thinks their home planet has been rendered uninhabitable and Bo-Katan disagrees might be a reference to the different backstories for the Mandalorians that existed in the past.) So now the big sources for Mandalorian culture are The Clone Wars, Rebels, and The Mandalorian. And Bo-Katan has been in all of them.

Thank you for the new episode, your comments and questions were all great. Have you ever seen anything else with Katte Sackhoff who also has some incredibly funny and interesting you tube streams, I like the one where she does goat yoga ah what celebrities do with their free time... I don't know anything about what is going to happen except for three spoilers two of them aren't really spoilers anymore as you saw Bo Katan and her boob armor which I guess confused some people maybe it just reminded them of the worst movie ever Batman And Robin. What did you think of the costume designers armor choices? You called them power rangers so does that mean you thought they looked a little childish and silly or is that what it looks the most like to you? I won't mention anything else I know but I am really excited to watch the rest of the season.

Interesting piece of trivia for this episode: It was directed by Bryce Dallas Howard. During the scene where the Razorcrest is making its decent onto the planet Trask, there are multiple shots (the reentry, the shot of water dripping from the ship's consoles as the ice melts, etc.) that are an intentional homage to the film Apollo 13, which was directed by Ron Howard (Bryce Dallas Howard's father). https://twitter.com/DiscussingFilm/status/1327749324684595200

Ronny Boss

Dag nabit, I only just saw you posted this reaction. Now I have to wait until tomorrow to watch it 😭

Wow, hard to download this one. must be hitting a download limit

As you say you like deeper exploration of established characters, I will take the opportunity to plug Rebels again. It follows a rebel cell that also functions as a family, over four seasons. Everyone gets an arc, and I find that the rapports among the characters develop quite satisfactorily.

Baron

Do you think this episode ended up a little shorter because they had to make some changes to what they could accomplish? During a very dramatic moment when a ship is descending at a very sharp angle that is how you mimc a zero gravity environment like Ron Howard did for Apollo 13 movie. I wonder if she also wanted to have a weightless scene but ended up with what we got which in my less then humble opinion seemed odd.

PickettsChargingPort

If I might make a suggestion. You may wish to watch the clone wars movie before you get much further. It will give you a bit of context without watching the entire clone wars series.

Outlaw Wales

So now you just have to watch all 133 episodes of The Clone Wars before next week. It will make more sense then. Easy enough...

Kevin Cleary

Nat will need to watch The Clone Wars for any of this to make sense. Though that will take a long time... :P months of content though...

Ken

I haven't seen Clone Wars and had no trouble following The Mandalorian.

Kevin Cleary

I too center my life goals around what not to experience in life. So, huzzah to that...

Michael Cruse

Another fun reaction video :) Disney+ seems to be going with a system of "release the first two episodes on the first day, then one episode a week." So yeah, that's why we got a Previously On recap this episode. Before I got a chance to watch this episode, my daughter texted me something to the effect of "Is it true?!? Is Bo-Katan in The Mandalorian? AHHH! Bo-Katan!! AHHHH!!!". To which I replied "Huh?" Apparently the blue Power Ranger lady is a Big Deal if you grew up watching The Clone Wars animated show.

Andrew Dickinson

After the firefly series you have to love the references to Serenity, the crash landings, the bits falling off.

RebRox65

I’ve been saying for some time now when I heard of the big league characters joining the show that I’m concerned that Nat, will be lost and start asking questions, naturally so, she won’t get closer to answers until she watches The Clone Wars and Rebels. I myself avoided these shows thinking their just kids shows (how wrong I was) so many questions get resolved. So we’re all gonna have to help her out along the journey.
