As I have the day off, I guess I just filled a couple hours, thanks Nat!

Gath Bard

A bit of a shame that you hate zombies. You'll never get to see the amazing "dead" trilogy that pretty much invented the genre. They're really good movies :| Sidenote: Shaun of the Dead also stars Dylan Moran (David) who is an hilarious comedian.

Joe Jeffords

Don't stop me now but this should be a fun watch!

Andy Crawley

Looking forward to seeing your reaction to this, I hope the overt Britishness of some of this translates well across the pond. If you haven’t already, you should see their follow up film Hot Fuzz, it’s actually better than Shaun!

Joe Jeffords

Have to agree. Hot Fuzz is dead clever and arguably the best of the trilogy.

Ronny Boss

Whelp looks like I'm going snack shopping after wurk, this is gonna be good 😁 Can't wait to see how you liked it. Stay Golden Gurl

Darryl Low

Simon Pegg and Nick Frost's new show Truth Seekers starts on Amazon Prime at the end of the month. Looks interesting. Part spooky, part comedy.

Darryl Low

Awesome Nat. Something to calm the nerves before the final Natmare. At least you'll be able to get some restful sleep in November :) Dawn of the Dead is considered to be the Citizen Kane of zombie movies. Director George A. Romero loved what they did with Shaun of the Dead, and as Simon Pegg and Edgar Wright were huge fans of his, when Romero made Land of the Dead the following year, he cast them in cameo roles as a couple of fairground zombies.

Tay Schumaker

Based on your enjoyment of the Don't Stop Me Now sequence, you should watch Baby Driver. Same director, and most of the film's action sequences are set to music in an extremely choregraphed and awesome way.

Will

I really do hope you watch Hot Fuzz as well. I think it's a lot more fun and funny than Shaun Of The Dead. It's a cop movie rather than a zombie movie this time. 😀

Calo Grsf

Your reaction was excellent, even if at times my ears hurt hahaha, I hope you will find time to watch the other films of the trilogy 😁

Andy Crawley

The follow through and repeating of jokes from Shaun are so well done, plus Paddy Considine, Timothy Dalton and Jim Broadbent being in it make it even greater.

Andy Crawley

Agreed, the whole movie is a love letter to editing, sound editing and choreography. The foot chase done to Hocus Pocus by Focus alone is worth it. Just ignore the fact Kevin Spacey is in it and you’re good to go haha!

It Hurt A Lot

The record throwing scene kills me every time

TrackHoodie

Simon pegg can deliver emotional moments despite being surrounded by comedy and chaos! Philips death, mom's scenes are so well done!

Nicholas Sulikowski

The whole Three Flavours Cornetto Trilogy is brilliant. (Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, The World's End. A loose trilogy connected merely by a lot of the same actors, same director and writers, and similar themes about growing up.) Edgar Wright is easily one of my favorite directors. Baby Driver is another excellent film of his, and a great example of his love of editing to music. (Much like the Don't Stop Me Now scene in this film.) It's like a feature length music video. He also did Scott Pilgrim vs. The World, and brought all his best writing, editing, and filmmaking hallmarks into it. And who can forget his short but brilliant sitcom Spaced. A wonderful cross-section of real-life problems with geek/nerd culture.

Michael Labs

"They're coming to get you Barbara"... from Night of the Living Dead. The movie that started the modern zombie movies.

Ron K

My theory is that Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz and Worlds End are the same movie happening in alternate dimensions.

Philip

I realize that suggesting media is likely not going to work, but Spaced is one of the funniest English tv shows of all time. With Simon Pegg and Nick Frost and Jessica Hynes (Yvonne in the movie). Same director as well, Edgar Wright. Everybody should check it out, it's ripe with 90s feels.

Matthew Periolat

Well... not really my cup of tea, but worth a rent and a watch for sure. I won’t be a total prude about it since I know some people love it, just not really my thing please and thanks. It’s all fair too, I treasure some movies some will find annoying and vice versa.

Andy Jordan

So glad you enjoyed this movie! Even though it’s a comedy, I’d still consider it a horror movie, as well. It’s pretty intense, and the scene of David getting ripped open by the zombies still haunts my dreams. Since I know you like The Boys, I’m curious if you recognized Simon Pegg as Hughie’s dad. He also plays Scotty in the JJ Abrams Star Trek films, if you need a reason to watch those. Karl Urban (Billy Butcher in The Boys and Éomer in LOTR) plays McCoy in them, as well. Anyhoo, laughed my ass off watching this, so another job well done. Cheers, Nat!

nataliegold

OMG I didn't recognize him!! I feel like everyone in The Boys completely transforms! Like I didn't recognize Karl Urban in LOTR until someone pointed him out

JediLounger

I really like 2/3s of this movie, however I am really not a fan of the turn at the start of act 3. While it is to be expected, as it is a zombie movie, I think they went against the grain too much on the tone that they set for the first two acts. I found Zombieland to be a similar movie but tonally consistent throughout. And it seems evident that they figured this out as well, as Hot Fuzz is absolutely brilliant, and works on every level.

Nicholas Sulikowski

When they played the movie for George A. Romero himself, creator of Night of the Living Dead and the "of the Dead" films, the reference went over his head.

Tiger Chu

Oh Hot Fuzz is a must when you can

Kevin Tipcorn

Have to echo the love for Hot Fuzz. A far superior movie by the same people imo, not that there is anything wrong with this one.

Robert Avila

Love this movie and was really excited when I saw it was next. As usual, another super fun reaction video. Glad you enjoyed it as much as you did. Looking forward to your next one.

Gunnar Rea

Another voice in the choir recommending Hot Fuzz.. Mos'Def worth a watch.. loved rewatching Shaun with you..

Andy Crawley

Spaced is the greatest! Takes me straight back to the late 90’s. I’d also suggest Black Books, which stars Dylan Moran who played David in Shaun. Also Garth Marenghi’s Darkplace, Father Ted, League Of Gentlemen, Big Train. There’s just too many amazing late 90s-early 00s to pick just one!

Ian Forbes

Yeah! Was coming here to make the same suggestion. And as others have mentioned, I hope the rest of the Cornetto trilogy (Hot Fuzz & The World’s End) get a reaction down the line as well. Pretty much everything Edgar Wright directs is top notch.

Rime Pendragon

Hot Fuzz is a great movie!

Jayson Phillips

In case you didn't notice. After the break up when they are at the Winchester His friend lays out the plot of the movie when he starts with bloody mary. The first zombie they attack is named Mary and they end up back at the Winchester for shots =)

Quarty

Yesssss! (And do the other two in the trilogy after the month is over! :))

Matt Wyatt

Shaun of the Dead was hilarious one of my all time favorite horror comedy. Glad that you enjoyed it. Another comedy horror movie you should definitely check out is Tucker and Dale vs. Evil it’s hilarious very underrated movie

Jack Mellor

Edgar Wright is honestly a god tier filmmaker, all his little quirky techniques, all them slide transitions and the excellent writing, still rather annoyed Marvel said no to him doing Ant-Man. Once Natmares is over, definitely recommend Hot Fuzz and The World’s End, which are sort of spiritual sequels to this, together forming the so called “Cornetto Trilogy” (named after the fact the characters in each film at one point or another enjoy a Cornetto which is a popular brand of flavoured ice cream cone) They’re done by the same filmmaking team as this movie, but they spoof/parody other genres. Not just those films, but I just highly recommend checking out other British films too in general. Be nice to see some of our films get some more love and appreciation.

Jack Mellor

Also, on a side-note: Sucks you hate zombies, I was gonna recommend 28 Days Later.

Shawn Mayberry

That's hilarious, I think you took the scenes that were the most comical and satirical seriously lol this movie is almost entirely jokes line for line

Ron K

Even though it's not part of the trilogy, if you finish those you should watch Paul. Not as funny as Shaun of the Dead or Hot Fuzz but Pegg and Frost together again is always awesome.

MightyHobo

Yvonne has the best call back in the movie that usually gets totally overlooked. When she says "glad someone made it" she has a look on her face that tells you her entire party died and she's the only one left.
