This basically a retelling of "The Seven Samurai". The show creators even called it the "Seven Samurai episode" in the behind the scenes video lol

You ask at the end of the video, Natalie, if we are going to end up on Tatooine. Let’s just say this : Bring on episode 5! Your favourite planet might make an appearance...

The rules behind the helmet being worn and so forth as explained more in later episodes. And yeah, him taking off the helmet while in full view of the kids playing outside was a flaw many people pointed out. lol

Okay wait! You always have multiple cups around the house? Cups of water? You are the little girl in the movie Signs. That's it, you gotta put that on the list now if you haven't already.

Fun fact - "Cara Dune" is played by Gina Carano, a former cage fighter. Jon Favreau created the character specifically for Gina Carano because he wanted The Mandalorian to feature a female character with the presence of Leia but the characteristics of a soldier.

The tracking fob is kinda that mystery that everyone thinks what it does some say it's a genetic dna tracker that's what I learned to go with because not many details on what it could be.

Jack the Narrator

The actress who plays Omera the native widow is Julia Jones. She played Leah Clearwater in the TWILIGHT movies and Smoking Fox in THE RIDICULOUS 6. She also had great supporting roles in the criminally underrated films WIND RIVER and COLD PURSUIT. I'm a big fan of Gina Carano and was so pleased to see her cast in this series. She played Angel Dust in DEADPOOL and co-starred in FAST & FURIOUS 6. But it's her starring role in Steven Soderberg's little-seen action thriller HAYWIRE that made me a big fan. Her character Mallory Kane deserves a place alongside Ripley as one of the best action heroines in film history. She does all her own stunts in the film and the fight scenes are first-rate. It's currently available on Netflix.

Fun reaction! I love this episode. It's probably my second favorite, right behind episode 3. I just love Gina Carano(Cara Dune), I've been such a big fan of hers since her MMA days.

Kevin Morris

I think the reason he wanted to leave when he found her there is that if other people were looking for Cara (Gina Carano) then they might come here for her and their trackers could pick up baby Yoda. So he wanted to find somewhere isolated. As far as how the tracking works they mention it uses something called a chain code which is not really explained but it appears that when someone is on the same planet they can use those devices to track him down. Werner Herzog mentioned that his age had something to do with the tracking maybe it's like a genetic tracker or something. We don't really know much yet. As for Gina Carano being ripped, she's an MMA fighter. Great reactio. Can't wait to see more. Your genuine enthusiasm is so great to see.

This was the first episode to get me emotional. The only distracting element for me was seeing Pillboy from The Good Place as one of the villagers.

I like this episode well enough, but I have serious issues with how they used the AT-ST. It is designed to be a mobile assault platform, and it does not live up to that name. The best thing I could figure out was the pilot was inexperienced and did not really know how to maneuver it around in complex battle situations.

Are you going to be watching Rogue One, Solo, and eps 7, 8 and 9 of Star Wars at all?

You should do Black Mirror for the next show you react to, if you haven’t seen it already. Ep 1 is just plain jarring, but Ep 2 is both beautiful and devastating

Jack the Narrator

She said she plans to, but just not right now. She wants to space out the Star Wars stuff with other kinds of movies and shows.

Thanks such a great video. You seem like a genuine, don't want to limit it to movies but just general entertainment fan. Have you watched Akira Kurosawa's movies, they have influenced pop culture for ages. I haven't watched them personally, just seen the ripples.

Peter Hudson

Always dig a good Seven Samurai retelling. That's one to consider throwing on the list if you wanna see a RAD old movie, you'd have to make a day of it though with it being over 3 hours. Maybe worth considering after some goal is reached, if the others are into the idea

The bit with the frog reminded me somebody's idea of holiday decor was to take a Baby Yoda doll and pose it with the legs from an Elf on the Shelf hanging out of its mouth.
