Next month we'll be adding a section on changes, how many people left, how many people increased or decreased things. The above numbers do not account for some things. For example, you'll notice that there's people who are just gone from our list, they deleted without ever having paid their first pledge at all, which is fine given the way we've set up the system. All the same, we will be likely inquiring with Patreon about their new system where we can set it up for people to submit their payment upon applying to become a supporter, rather than waiting for the end of the month, as we've heard all kinds of people who have had their cards declined erroneously.

We'll be doing this every month to give complete transparency as to how much we have earned, where that money is going and what things are going to happen with the money.

Very cool of you guys to share this information! Really interesting stuff.

CloudMeadow

A big issue with the end of Breeding Season was the lack of transparency on how money was coming in or being spent. This is a necessary professionalism thing, and we have nothing hide on this front.

This is the right way to do it, applying an instant charge will deter people from attempting to manipulate the $20 tier polls. The monthly model is far to easily exploited anyway, especially when someone could just jump in and take whatever content they wanted, then proceed to cancel their pledge taking your hard work with them. The monthly transparency is also a great idea, especially if you do follow through on informing us on how and where the patron money is being spent.

Antonio

Since every Patron is what could be called an "investor", at least to certain point, it is fair to be transparent. If every govenment was that trasparent, many corruptions would be avoided. Yes I live on Brazil.

Don't loose heart. I respect your work and I will try to give a bit more if I can, just please don't let this get to you.

Team Nimbus, if i had the money to spare, i would donate. My only question is will this game be released for non patrons, and if yes, than when?

Aromatic Hyena

You could add a section for the total amount received accumulatively

CloudMeadow

Over time? Sure. Talking with S-Purple about how to go about showing that.

Lee Thompson

Wow transparency on Patreon

CloudMeadow

We DID say we were trying to be as professional as possible with this. I mean, the only reason I'm not showing our projected spending and savings is that involves very private information of S-Purple's personal accounts and he needs to finish his own book keeping and such before I show it off (Not to mention get his permission)

This is good, I think transparency is absolutely needed on this project after what happened with BS. In regards to the patreon pay up front system: it is a good idea that prevents abuse by fake pledgers, but it also bugs me. Not so much in regards to CM, but I find the lack of previews content provided on patreon troublesome. If you do use the pay up front system I strongly encourage you to make frequent public posts (viewable to non patrons) recapping what all patreons received during the month. Include as much info as you can: what was voted on, what the latest patreon alpha version is and when it will become public, as well as preview images of new content if possible. I know it's extra work but it really helps to know exactly what you're signing up for for the month, otherwise it's harder to commit to the pledge knowing you'll be charged up front.

I like this, this addresses almost every single thing we were worried about. Thank you Darkside

Artakons

I think it's not only professional, but a very noble thing to do as well. I knew I was right to support you guys! :D

Artakons

I agree with everything Darkside said here :D Well-put for sure ;)

Aron Marczylo

I think soooo many things on Patreon aren't transparent that it is a surprise, but again it makes us trust you more that you give us a reason to trust you.

Aron Marczylo

Only suggestion I can think of would be making a $20 post only AFTER the Patreon payment or ON THE DAY so that those honest backers (like myself) get to see what we've paid for and those who pretend don't, however there is a problem with this system too. Hmm...this will require a lot of thought.

@Team Nimbus Glad to hear you were already thinking about it :) It's a real problem with some patreon pages. I've seen some ban users for depledging, and I get that when fake pledgers come in, take the rewards and leave without paying... but then if I can't get previews or public posts how do I know if anything was actually created during the month? Not as big a problem here with CM since there are public posts and demos, but it's been a sore point with Patreon on some pages.
