Hi all, here is the first of quite a few podcasts I recorded (seven total, some of which Bob was able to join for!) while we were in Japan for BitSummit these past few weeks. This first episode comes as a follow-up to last year's BitSummit interview with Tetsuya Mizuguchi. We made it through his work with Sega last time, and the intent was to tackle the second half of his career here… but we only actually ended up making it through Lumines. That's OK, though, because Lumines Remastered is due out soon, which means this episode ends up being extremely timely. I, uhhh… planned it that way, yeah. Definitely.

You'll notice the audio quality this time around is a lot better than in last year's Miz interview. That's because I dragged a suitcase filled with 40 lbs. of pro recording equipment across the island of Honshu for two weeks. So many subway station stairways…

But hey, now my biceps are made of a steel-like substance, and our international podcasts sound great. This one actually has the lowest audio quality of the bunch since our interpreter Kyoko had to Skype in again, but even so, it's pretty good. Seems fitting to have higher-fidelity audio for a conversation with a man who's done so much for music gaming, no?

Please look forward to more quality interviews with cool Japan-based folks (devs and otherwise) in the coming months! — Jeremy

Whatever you dragged with you was worth the effort. Audio quality really improved!
