Right now there is a nationwide Adderall shortage affecting many people. So what are you supposed to do if you can't get your ADHD meds? Lets explore that.

Thank you! Like many others, I didn't even know I have ADHD until lockdown and I could control more of my environment. Now that I've realized how much Adderall helps, naturally there's a shortage.

3 minutes :) I do 5 minute breaks for 25 min pomodoros, 10 min breaks for 50 min pomodoros. I'm not as strict with the breaks as I am with the timer, though. The key for me is to monotask while the timer is going, the breaks are somewhat incidental (for me). Sometimes I skip them cause I'm in flow, or take a longer one cause I forgot to pee :)

My Rx has been 60 x 20mg IR, and I usually take 1.5 so I have a reserve built up. Not an intentional strategy, I just have the extra 10mg available as a late afternoon/early eve boost if work goes long. Most days I don’t use it, so after almost a year I have probably 2-3 months in the kitty, so to speak.

Aw, this would have been brilliant 3 months ago when tthere was an Elvanse shortage in Europe! I ended up on basically the same strategies the long, hard way around 😅

Still an ongoing Elvanse shortage in the UK, with intermittent methylphenidate shortages as well. And I hear the same about HRT. Brexit is greatly exacerbating pharma supply chain issues :(

@Adam still having issues? My chemist's delivery seemed to be back steady even if the delivery is taking one or two days longer

I’m having problems getting my 30 mg. My doctor has beyond 15 mg twice a day until we can fix the problem as my insurance won’t cover 215 twice a day but they will cover 2 30s. She has recommended Vyvanse. Hard to find also. I plateaued on Ridellan since I started it when I was seven and I’m in my early 50s. Sometimes Strattera works. Sometimes it doesn’t especially with executive function and motivation so I need the stimulant anybody have any checks or recommendations for me and how does Vyvanse work for you guys compared to Ridellan or Adderall side effects if any

Vyvanse worked really well for me, I just had the issue that I built up tolerance to it REAL quick so I'd constantly have to take month-long breaks from it in order to lower that tolerance again... and I'd have to do this every 3-4 months, so it wasn't ideal. I also don't have any real side-effects from Vyvanse or Adderall. But these are obviously just how it affected me, so no guarantee that it'll be the same for you. Though I definitely hope you do find something that works for you!! 🐻 Harley, Community Manager
