I'll have to admit, I got a little sad when I realized I could see the end of the SUDS arc and the return of humanity. For some reason my brain kept telling me that the end of the story was that arc. I don't know why I locked up on it, but for some reason I kept feeling like the end of the story was with humanity returning.

Then I remembered: We've got the war with the Atrekna. Yeah, the rest of the Confederacy can defend against them, with heavy casualties, but they're still losing their best fighters and innovators. To top it off, there's thousands of planets where nobody is watching them.

When I remembered there's a lot more of the story, that the return of humanity is STILL the buildup to the climax of the story, I started to feel better.

Then, of course, the latter half of the sixth act is seeing all of our heroes go home and the repercussions of that action.

So, we're about to start the War on Heaven, but that doesn't mean the story will instantly be over.

And there's more twists and turns. Some of you have figured them out, like a driver anticipating the curves in the road ahead.

But I hope you enjoy reading them.

Finally: I hope everyone has a good month. It's been stressful, and getting more so, but we can all make it.

I have very deliberately NOT done a lot of prognosticating or deep dives into the context. I have built a few roads in my day, I can usually guess how the twists and turns are going to come just by the lay of the land . . . sometimes however, its more fun to just pop the clutch, get on the gas and enjoy the ride.
