Ahsoka Tano was Anakin's padawan in The Clone Wars

Sam Tahiri

they actually were legit mandalorians, she said the armor was in her family for 3 generations and that she was born on mandalore

brandonlikesmovies

I thought despite being born there she was still not considered Mandalorian because she didn't follow the code (like removing the helmet frequently) and mocking their verbage (taunting him with 'this is the way')

Sam Tahiri

I think only mando’s specific clan had that rule. I don’t think mando understands there are different rules with other clans

TheJungleMan

The Mandolorians that keep the Helmets on are called Death Watch, and some others. Din is a child of that clan, the one s who saved him. Clan Kryze and more are from the Clone Wars and Rebels. The Mandos we are normally used too.

Hi, Brandon! Do you have a high-pass filter on your mic-channel? It would be helpful as it picks up the lower frequencies from the movie. Smoshed up together, the pairing of 2 movie tracks makes the low-end very unflattering.

Robert 'Jemimus' Kloosterhuis

Bo-Katan of clan Kryze considers herself an heir to the throne of Mandalore. During the Clone Wars, Kryze's sister, Satine, ruled as the Duchess of Mandalore, Satine and Bo-Katan and the Mandalorian arc are a major part of the Clone Wars, and Rebels animated series. They worked closely with Obi-Wan, Anakin, and Anakin's Padawan: Ahsoka Tano. Bo-Katan was voiced by the actress Katee Sackhoff in both Clone Wars and Rebels. Here in The Mandalorian she played Bo-Katan in real life, which is amazing. Ahsoka Tano will not be played by her voice-actress, however.

As you noted, Bryce Dallas Howard directed this episode. Did you notice how she played Homage to Apollo 13, which her father directed? When the Razorcrest enters the atmosphere, you see this subtle slow motion of the condensed water dropping of the control panels. That is straight from Apollo 13 during the re-entry at the end of the movie.

Yeah but your microphone leaks the episode audio every time you speak. I think. But I could be wrong.

I’m guessing you haven’t watched Clone wars or Rebels. Remember Filoni was instrumental with those shows, so lots of lore will coincide with The Mandolirian.

Also think of Madolorians like a religion is to us. Some clans or individuals take it to the extreme in their beliefs.

I haven't no. And my thing is that I have no issues with them having characters from those series and nods to material from them, but when it feels like you need to have watched them to enjoy the show when it wasn't marketed as (and really isn't) a direct sequel to them then it's not the best writing. If that makes sense

Salmonero

I personally don't mind the audio leak. Makes it easier to know you're fully in sync.

@Brandon I wholeheartedly agree. I’m catching up with this season as well and the way they’ve brought in characters, it’s like you’re required to watch all of this other material. I’ve tried to sit through Clone Wars and Rebels, I just don’t care about Star Wars to that degree. I’ve read a handful of novels (most of which are decanonized now) because the stories sounded interesting to me, not that I’m super into SW. The only reason I recognized Olyphant’s character was I’d read the Afternath book series he was from. Only reason I read those was to get some kind of explanation of exactly what happened post-Return of the Jedi in the opinion of Disney.
