This has always been one of my favorite episodes.

Walt was definitely convinced that his cancer tumor had grown when he saw the scan and he went "all out" or "all in" if you will when he made the decision to cook for four days. He did this expecting to get the bad news that he would soon die. When he got the news that not only was he not dying just yet, but he had much longer time left, Walt was distraught by everything he had done and the fact that he would now have to "live" with it for now. He was absolutely angered and upset by this hence the violent punches to the dispenser at the end of the episode.
