I asked in a previous post about times that might allow people in East Asia, Australia, and New Zealand to come to office hours more conveniently than in the  past, so January's will be the first Office Hours held with that in mind. I'll hold Office Hours on Saturday, January 28th, at 5:00 p.m. (17:00) U.S. Mountain time. That should be, for example, 8:00 a.m. (on Sunday, January 29th) in Perth. It's also 1:00 a.m. (on Sunday the 29th) in Central European time, so the European night owls might consider coming, but I'll also have more convenient office hours for you scheduled for later months. Check timeanddate.com for the time in your local zone (specifying the date is probably helpful in this case because of the date line issue; just put in "Denver" for my time).

The Zoom link is here (https://cuboulder.zoom.us/j/95993612752) and the passcode is: 175714

If you haven't come to Office Hours before, this post explains the idea, and this video will give you a sense of what it's like.

Wherever you are, if this time and date (or my usual 10:00 a.m. Colorado time on a weekend) don't work for you, let me know what I could do in the future to schedule one that would be better for your time zone or habits. In general I aim for times that are convenient for North America and Europe because my supporters are concentrated there, but I'm happy to do some that are better for other time zones sometimes too.

Thank you as always for your continued support and kindness, and all the best,

Jackson Crawford

P.S. My Patreon messages don't work. I don't get notifications for them, and there's nothing on my home page to show me when there is or isn't a message. I can't even always see them when I check for them manually, and you won't see it if I reply! The best ways to get in touch are: a) just to comment on posts like this, b) to post in the  Community page, or c) to email my assistant Stella at [admin AT JacksonWCrawford.com]--remember the 'W' between my first and last names in that domain name.

Haha today we both learned something about your language. I was thinking of this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z-GWnzsL_Ho&ab_channel=ArneFlor

But that doesn't look like a raven at all! I feel a deep connection with that "please don't talk to me unless you're bringing coffee" face though.

I very much need to start checking Patreon more often! I didn't even realize these office hour zooms were part of my membership. I was originally just wanting to support the channel as I'm learning so much from you, but did not realize how much great stuff was going on here! I will definitely try to make it to this :)

Theres like a 50-50 chance i'll be up for this but either way i must insist on the norwegian expression "night raven" in this context, for obvious reasons. (What bird do other languages use, actually?)

norsebysw

I don't know, I'm enough of a bird person that I'd only heard that as an ornithological term (= "nightjar"). But I guess "night owl" is the equivalent.

Yes, the opposite of a morgenfugl. You're telling me that natteravn is an actual bird?

Anonymous

What, ok so natteravn is still a person and nattravn is actually a bird. TIL!
