I understand why Dean did that but I don't agree with it at all

Dean was just getting his vengeance for Sam bringing him cake instead of pie. Understandable. IT'S NOT CLOSE ENOUGH SAM! Therefore Amy had to pay the price.

Since Amy had shown once that she would kill if her son was ill, Dean believed she would eventually kill again to either save her son or herself, and felt those deaths would be his fault if he let Amy go. Agree it would have been cool if this kid came back in the last season, but alas no.
