you probably didn’t realize it but the flashbacks in this episode shows as “5 Years Ago” which can be confusing if you’re following the timeline. the way it’s confusing is because 5 years ago Rumple was in Storybrooke, but he was cursed, right? so how is he in the Dark One Vault 5 years ago too? so just so you understand the timeline: • the flashbacks in this episode that state “5 Years Ago” take place ONE YEAR LATER • Lancelot marries Snow and Charming while Charming’s mother is dying from being shot with an arrow TWO YEARS LATER • Regina casts her Dark Curse *Regina’s curse not only freezes time in Storybrooke or the Enchanted Forest, but also freezes time in Camelot (for 28 years) [so the flashbacks in this episode FEEL like it was 5 years ago for those in Camelot]* TWO YEARS LATER • The events in Camelot (which is 6 weeks ago from Present Time Storybrooke) take place. So 2+2+1=5 years; excluding the 28 years the Camelot residents don’t recall. Hope this helps! Until the next episode!

The Broken Kingdom- Thank you so much for this reaction! I really love this episode for the most part. I love that this episode brings a twist to the King Arthur Legends as it delves further into Merlin's prophecy meant for Arthur. As I'm sure you expect from me, my favorite moments throughout this episode are those between Killian and Emma. While I appreciate the twist on the Arthurian Legends, I was still trying to get used to the idea that Arthur was a villain back when I saw this episode for the first time back when it first aired, and even though I've long since gotten used to Arthur as a villain and even like it in some ways, a number of other scenes outshine those that focus on Arthur and Guinevere. In answer to your question about the timeline... the caption says that this storyline, and therefore this moment between them and Rumplestiltskin, is set five years earlier. However, it couldn't have been if you think about the timeline logically, because Rumplestiltskin was still cursed in Storybrooke five years earlier. And therefore... he couldn't have been in Camelot, or in the Enchanted Forest then. Which is why I suspect that this caption means this timeline takes place five years before Regina casts the original dark curse over everyone. This is the only way the timeline makes any sense. Overall... I give this episode an 8 because of the Guinevere/Lancelot storyline, while I love everything else about it. Until next time, my friend...
