What I love about this episode is that looking back at the entire season you notice Cass being all shady and keeping info from the boys. Everything makes sense and I feel like if you weren't looking for the clues you'd definitely miss it which is why I was impressed with your reactions to the season so far. No one wants to believe Cass is doing shady stuff with Crowley, but he is in a desperate situation and I'm glad you put that together. You're the first reactor who wasn't totally upset they offed the Mother and I was going to say that she was essentially used as a distraction from what was really going on in the background. Can't wait for you to finish the season, it finishes really strong imo

The next episode is interesting as it is written and directed by one person, Ben Edlund. 🙌 It’s not often that you get to have a singular vision to create and execute an episode.

I generally am not a huge fan of the episode though I enjoyed it more, sitting here and watching it with a fresh eye. One piece of improv in the episode....in the first diner scene, Dean calls powerless-Cas a “baby in a trenchcoat.” Misha (Cas) actually forgot his line and so he just turned to look out the window and Jared (Sam) improved by whispering to a confused Dean, “I think you hurt his feelings.” Makes it an even funnier an just the baby in a trenchcoat line.

Yeah it is Tara from Buffy. The first episode she was in s2 aired a few years after Buffy ended but you happened to watch SPN before getting to the part where Tara showed up so you didn't recognize her. Just like with Amy Acker as Fred who showed up in SPN ep 3 or Mercedes McNab who is Harmony on Buffy and then showed up as a Vamp in the ep Gordon died. etc you might know them from other stuff but when watching SPN part of the cool thing when watching when it aired or watching Buffy/Angel first is then seeing the actors pop up on SPN after because the creators were fans of Buffy and a lot of actors from both shows guest star on SPN and part of the fun is knowing and liking them on Buffy/Angel and then recognizing them when they show up on SPN but it doesn't work if you watch through SPN first because it aired afterwards but nothing you can do about it it now.
