I give this episode a 9. It's really good, and I especially love how the creators and writers turn Walt Disney into a character within Once Upon a Time in his own right. Absolutely brilliant!! :) Thank you, Steven!

I agree, the reveal that this random guy is the Author is such a let down. They introduced the idea of the Author in the beginning of the season and to wait this long for this reveal.. it’s a little eh. Excited for the next reaction! :)

I think they should have given him a better lead up. Like if they had him in all the backstories as a background character, who sometimes interacts with the main characters in some way, and then the reveal is like "hey, he was there the whole time, it makes so much sense!" but they kind of just threw him in this episode. idk, I just feel like the set up could have been better. I do love the idea of the Author though.

I wasn't too on board with the author's identity either, but I really liked everything else about the episode and there are many ways you can go from here storywise.

Fly on the Wall

The Author was in the book for the entire run of the show. It wasn’t ever going to be someone we already knew. At least not before season 4. They could have maybe given him more flashbacks dated back to the begging of the first arc, but otherwise it what he represents more so than who it was. Lily was the real reveal.
